We got married on Sunday and two days later, I couldn’t have rushed faster to leave this review. Sherena is an absolute queen, always responding to my emails and making me feel so well supported throughout the whole planning process. Every single person involved in the day was exceptional (shoutout to Rhonda and Georgia also)! We wish Food and Desire could organise and cater for us every single day, but we’ll settle for all the special events in our future.

COULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM MORE! My husband and I got married at Harbour Room and it was just amazing, everything we could have hoped for. The team communicated so well, and we felt extremely looked after. The food knocked everyone off their seats, and location looking over the city and the sea was magic! Our guests haven’t stopped raving about the whole night. Such incredible value, the only downside it it went way too fast. We want to re live it all again. And a big shout out to Sherena our wedding coordinator, she is professional, personal and so much fun. Her energy just added to the experience. The absolute most incredible wedding venue. Not only was Half Acre everything we dreamed of for our wedding, it was the complete package. From start to finish, all communication, meetings, tastings, everything was perfect. Our event co ordinator Sherena was the absolute vibe and made the planning & implementing of the day go as well as possible. The venue looked incredible & Half Acre allowed us to create our dream wedding - not to mention the food was to die for (high level restaurant quality). 5 stars just isn’t enough

The team at Carousel are amazing! A a special shout out to the delightful Sherena for making the whole process of coordinating our wedding so seamless, whist also making it super fun! The food was insanely good also. Couldn't recommend them more!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Half Acre and loved every bit of it. The team was so easy to work with and were extremely attentive to all of our needs during the lead up to the big day and on the night! The venue is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is top notch. Chloe, who helped us organise our reception, was incredibly helpful, patient and organised. We are so grateful for the amazing people of Food & Desire who helped us celebrate the best day ever!

Couldn’t have been happier with Carousel for our wedding reception. The venue is beautiful, the team are amazing and the service and food was lovely. All of our guests had the best time and had so many compliments for the venue! Couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out.

Such an amazing space! My partner and I had our wedding there this weekend and could not ask for a better venue, team and food! The team were great, especially Yvonne who I cannot thank enough. She was there from start to finish with the planning and ensured our day was stress free and ran smoothly. We cannot thank Sherena and the team at Carousel/Food & Desire enough for their flexibility and dedication during our wedding planning. Sherena was so energetic and accomodating to all of our requests! The team on the night were highly experienced and made sure our wedding ran smoothly! The venue was so beautiful, particularly after the renovations. Even though it was raining during the day, we still had a chance to use the deck for the beautiful view of the lake and city. Thank you so much to the Food & Desire team, highly recommend!

Ultra professional at what they do. We our dream wedding at Half Acre and can't fault Food & Desire on what they did to make it happen. Extra special shout out to Kaitlynn, our coordinator, who was responsive and just all-round fantastic, and to Tom, our bridal waiter on the night, who everyone just raved about. Everyone loved the food, the staff and the venue!

Our wedding was overall a fantastic night. However if you’d like to have a stress free reception stay away from here. We arrived at 5pm only to find the staff had let guests into the venue while it was not set up. At 6pm our guests were meant to be seated, however the room was not ready. Event coordinator said the event started at 7pm however it clearly stated on the running sheet as guests to be seated at 6pm. 6.15 no name tags were on the tables and no menus were on the tables, random furniture still placed around the venue, my bridal party was running around setting the tables so the guests can be seated. Not a experience I would recommend for a day that is already stressful enough. Further to this after the providing feedback no response to emails after they have taken your money.

Thank you so much Food and Desire for all your support in helping to ensure our day was all we hoped for and more! The staff here were so helpful and accomodating from Rita, our first point of contact, to Rebecca our event coordinator (and her team) who truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was all we expected and more.
We had our wedding at Harbour Room in St Kilda and absolutely loved the venue!
The food was amazing! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had tasted. As bride and groom we were warned you don’t usually get a chance to eat at your own wedding, but once we tried the beef cheek we made sure to eat because it was so good!
The space is so beautiful with the rooftop overlooking the sea and the main room showcasing the sea view through floor to ceiling windows. While we were disappointed that the pouring rain didn’t allow us to have our ceremony on the rooftop, the indoor location was just as beautiful. Thank you once again Food and Desire, and a big thank you to Rebecca for all your support in ensuring our day was memorable and everything was just as we wanted it!

Where do we even start! We have to postpone our wedding 4 times due to covid, and if it wasn't for people like Rebecca at Food and Desire, we wouldn't have made it. She came on the journey with us, and we honestly wouldn't have had the event we did if it wasn't for her. Super organized, her knowledge of the events industry helped us so much as we were quite lost at times. Nothing was ever too hard, or not do-able. We can't thank her enough for what she has done for us in the past 12 months. She helped to create an amazing wedding and somehow made it easy and fun along the way.

We cannot begin to thank Food & Desire enough! After our original wedding venue pulled out on us 4 weeks out from our wedding, we were pretty upset. Once we found Carousel it was the perfect match! I could not recommend them more, particularly Rebecca! From the start the communication was effective, timely and efficient. Exactly what you need when you have a month to plan a wedding! They worked with us to have the perfect wedding, everything we dreamed of and more. Originally we were only going to have our reception there but the weather turned horrendous and the day before Rebecca helped us move our ceremony to Carousel. Fitting us in after another event and allowed our suppliers in early so we could have our roof installation in time. They went above and beyond to give us a special and memorable day and I will forever be grateful! The food was incredible and every single guest said it was amazing! The service was impeccable, particularly our bridal waiter Dom, everyone was so impressed. He never forgot an order! I could not recommend Food and Desire more and I will definitely be returning for future events!

We were so so impressed with our reception at Harbour Room and by Rebecca's responsiveness, professionalism and kindness. She was clear (especially in relation to COVID procedures) and assured us that the little details that we were worried about would all be taken care of, which they were. Our guests raved about the food, and said that the service was impeccable and attentive. It was overall a very enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend Food & Desire and especially Harbour Room.

We held our wedding at the Harbor Room in St Kilda through Food and Desire. Was a pleasure working with them, they were incredibly responsive and willing to make changes up to the last minute to accommodate everything that we wanted for our special day. The food and drink was amazing and the service on the night was incredible. All of our friends and relatives won't stop talking about how good the wedding was.

Would very much recommend anyone to have their wedding with Food and Desire.in future, and indeed to have their wedding at the Harbor Room in the Melbourne Yacht Squadron.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at our wedding reception at the Harbour Room! All the staff were fantastic, as was the food, drink and atmosphere!

Special mention to the on-the-night co-ordinator, she was fantastic, so on the ball with everything.

Our personal waiter for the evening was also fantastic, he was so polite and speedy with getting drinks, etc.

The feedback from our guests was also overwhelmingly positive with guests citing the food and drink as amazing and at least one couple saying it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!

Aerial in South Warf is where we had our wedding. Lauren was patient, informative and a dream to work with. She went above and beyond. Food was excellent and venue was stunning. If I could afford another wedding I would do it all again. Thanks Team

Lauren and the team at Food and Desire/Carousel were super accommodating of our request to postpone our wedding due to the effects of COVID-19. Our wedding was due to take place at the start of next year.

Carousel were great in getting back to us in a timely and helpful manner, and really made sure that every response was personalised and tailored to our individual circumstance. It really did seem like they were trying their best to ensure our wedding experience was not tarnished due to COVID-19, and that our wedding was their number one priority. This even included meeting with us on a number of occasions via zoom to discuss our options and to explain the process in detail, so as to really make sure we understood everything and were kept informed through each step.

We were lucky enough through good management by Carousel and a bit of luck that we were able to postpone our wedding to later next year, and this way our wedding will be able to go ahead as smoothly as possible.

My fiancé and I cannot thank the team at Carousel enough for their hard work, dedication and flexibility in this time and for truly ensuring we got the best result in these difficult times. We would definitely commend them on a job well done!

Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic has been such an upsetting, frustrating and confusing experience. If it wasn’t for our event planner’s compassion, flexibility, professionalism and support, we’d be very tempted to throw in the towel, concluding “it’s just too hard”. Thank you Rebecca for doing your very best to guide us through this challenging time, we are confident we’ll eventually get the wedding of our dreams, hopefully third time lucky. We really appreciate how easy you have made it to reschedule our date multiple times.

We had scheduled our wedding to be held at Carousel and like many couples this year have had to postpone due to Covid-19.
Shaun from Food & Desire has been extremely helpful, responsive and professional in assisting us with postponing our big day.
It was a very difficult and uncomfortable situation for us to be in and we also had to acknowledge that things are extremely tough in the entire events industry in Melbourne right now.
Shaun brought an open mind to our discussions, listened to what our preferences were and ultimately worked with us to formulate and agree on how we could move forward together.
We are looking forward to partying with the team at Carousel after all this Covid-19 stuff is behind us.
