Flinders Golf Club reviews
38 Wasn't exactly sure where to check in for our reserved table, but was quickly greeted and shown to our table by a smiley member of staff.
We took a few moments to go on the balcony and take some photos of the fabulous view.
The menu was very simple but actually perfect for us. Saganaki to share to start, then seafood linguine, smoked salmon salad and calamari and chips!
All prepared perfectly and delicious.
Would have been good to be able to select from a cocktail menu maybe? Aperol spritz is very popular. Instead we had two glasses of very nice rose wine.
Overall, great food, great views, and friendly staff. And the reservation admin was great too.
Great course with great ocean views. The greens have recently been cored and should be really good in a few weeks.
It's a challenging course and plays harder than it looks.
This course is for the golf purist. I found every hole to be well thought out and challenging, it might be a tight drive or a short par with a narrow approach and well guarded by bunkers. The views on most holes made the whole course a pleasure on the golf senses. Worth noting that there is no halfway house so pack food and drink for 18 holes. Once you make it back the club house is warm and has incredible views. The greens, fairways and bunkers were all brilliantly maintained, and drained well (I rained almost all day when I played). I will most certainly be back!
Lovely place. Good was yum. Service was good. Views amazing. Enjoyed my mother's day lunch.
A great little course with some terrific coastline views. Course is in very good condition and I recommend. Clubhouse includes drinks and good food.
One of the nicest and picturesque courses I have played, well maintained and really friendly staff. Witnessed first ever hole in 1 too.
Could not get a tastier feed, a more amazing view or better prices anywhere around. Highly recommended
Great course, busy (and slow with tee-offs on a busy public holiday) but worth the wait. Spectacular views. Getting food in the club was another issue, extremely slow (for no reason other than the staff were being social with members). And be careful what you're charged as I was ripped off on the published prices for a sandwich!
Picturesque golf course on the Mornington Peninsula. Well kept greens and good long course. A few challenges but overall a good course for the experienced & beginners.
Lovely golf course, even after a lot of rain. Greens were especially good being fast and true. Great value mid week golf deal.
Poor customer service and was not able to receive any compensation what so ever. Chased up a whole week and no staff got back to me. Regardless, letting them know numerous times to leave a note. Staff member Harry, poor customer interaction at all and has no clue on what he’s doing.
Amazing views and challenging holes on this 18 hole course. Some holes follow the coastline making for a challenge with views.
Incredibly over-rated.
The actual golf course is a “3” at best, or high “2” out of 5. Substandard greens, long fairways with rubbish gullies or trenches running across them, tees where you have to hit blind and can’t see your ball landing.
When the naval gun practice range is firing it is VERY unpleasant. Pro shop staff member I dealt with was surly, but that is only one person. However the clubhouse had only the cheapest pub food when our group arrived for lunch, apparently due to a staff member being absent. One staff member away, and the whole restaurant folds? Give me a break.
The view from the course and clubhouse over the water are very good though. I would go to the clubhouse for a coffee if in the area. But I won’t play golf there.
Course was in very good condition considering all the rain on the last few weeks plus a very polite & helpful young man in the pro shop.
Hosted myself and two other members of a reciprocal club today in high winds. The course was in magnificent condition. Immaculate fairways and some of the best conditioned greens I have ever putted on. Congratulations on your magnificent facility.
Sunday lunchtime after golf, packed clubhouse with golfers and tourists wanting lunch or a drink, only to find one staff member trying to; take orders, attend the bar, serve drinks and serve the meals to the table, clean the tables etc etc. Come on Flinders Golf Club this is pathetic. We were waiting up to 30 minutes to buy a drink or order a meal!
One of the best golf course we have ever played in Melbourne:
1. The online booking was very easy
2. The staff are very helpful and friendly
3. The course is picturesque makes us feel very happy.you can take any good picture anywhere
4.the fairway is very soft and well maintain
5. The green is in a very good condition.
6. Foods are great
7. Flinders as a regional city is a nice place to stay
Fairways are similar to sponge, but some greens are not same speeds. But enjoying ocean view from deck of clubhouse and crispy chips with beers!
Nice layout. Good greens. Great views. Judgement in the wind can be very important. Quite a short course
Love this club, if your game is off just look at the views and your mind will be calmed by the serenity.
