Fitzroy Library reviews
19Fitzroy Library: Located. Fitzroy ~ Stand in Front of the Town-Hall, the entrance to the facility is on the side side. Enter on right side of Town Hall. Walk through the automatic glass doors. Camera are around the facility to ensure safety of the Patrons and Staff Members. Few Computers are available - Windows Operating Computers. Large Selection of Children's Books. Some Fictional and Non-Fictional Books. Toilets are located in the corridor. Water bottle can be filled by the water dispenser in corridor. Outside a place of to seat if you have the Courage.
Beautiful outdoor building! Next to a couple of parks if you need to stretch your legs. There's a few cozy spots and a large area for kids to play and read.
Smaller than I expected inside and is open plan so noise can travel throughout the library.
Staff was excellent and helpful
Fiction section might be a bit small but there's a great selection of comics and kids content. Kids area even has some toys!
There's some desks, a few study booths and some computers but could potentially be distracting depending on the time/day
An interesting library in a great location, with many food and coffee options nearby
Sublime library. Decent study spaces, a good few computers available to use, friendly staff and easy to sign up. Recommend!
Beautiful local library. Staff go the extra mile, and are always happy to help. It's my happy place.
Such a lovely library. The only problem is this library doesn't have any lockers which are needed most of the time for public libraries. BTW, I enjoy its nice environment, sepcially good for people who wants to work some houres outside their working pla ces.
Very LOUD, is this a cafe/bar or a library? People are very disrespectful, talking loud, children playing and behaving like savages, people speaking out loud on their phones.bad experience twice!
Good place to go to get some quite reading time. Staff are friendly.
But there are rude ones that staff had to deal with
Very helpful friendly staff and a magnificent building. Everything you want from a public library and then some.you can borrow android tablets here!
Great place to get away and do some work, with various wonderful cafes just a minute's walk away.
Noisy and messy. Disrespectful unsupervised kids all around make any attempt of studying impossible.
I was invited by Yarra Libraries to run a Career Development for Over 40's workshop on 7/2/19 at Fitzroy Library at 128 Moor Street, Fitzroy. I enjoyed sharing tips and strategies with an extremely engaged audience and was very impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of all staff involved in the organisation of the workshop. Thank you once again for the invitation. Sue Ellson:)
If you're looking for a quiet place to work, you're better off going to the pub as school children play in the front section of the library before and after school.
Poor air conditioning, and a little rundown, not enough power outlets. But overall nice place to study.
What a magical library. So many great books. The staff are wonderful. The greenery on the roof is wonderful. It’s such a nice place to spend time.
The staff are quite nice and helpful. The book selection is rather small but what they do have is good. However the amount of screaming, disrespectful children, literally running around the place, has been quite unexpected.
A little noise sometime but the staff is helpful and nice
A good place with many books DVD and CD
Thanks Fitzroy Library
Ironic when the librarians themselves are the louder than the patrons.
There's only about 4 private study desks with powerpoint access. This is also the loudest library I've ever attempted to study at.
NOISIEST LIBRARY EVER. Minimal quiet study space and loud talking can be heard from front desk by attendants even from other end of otherwise beautiful library.
WiFi too slow to do anything and you have to wait for hours till you can get a PC which is not able to play videos
Worst library I have ever seen
