This place is useless first they don't answer your call ask you to leave a message after leaving message still you will get no call nothing

I appreciate the patience and courtesy of the staff as they assist so many people who are facing difficult situations in their lives. Also the practitioners who generously make their services available to us. I find it sad that the demand for their services is so excessive.

Hopeless. It was expected of them to be well versed in the areas of law and advise me with my legal issue, but looks like that was not the case. Lawyer was dismissive, demeaning and needless to say incompetent.

Its the best place to visit if u are in a civil court matter they provide best advice of every situation no matter what the situation is they will definately help u to solve.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
Fittzroy Legal Aide advised that we go to court. Got the summons, and returned for advice on how to represent in court and got told that we are "Going To Lose" and will "Get a Criminal Record" and "Will have to pay a Higher Fees" because of going to court!
RUDE, DEMORALISING, ABUSIVE AND BAD ADVICE!

Waste of time! It's not a free service. They refer you to the day service which is a paid service. They mislead you. They will make your situation worst. Very unprofessional.
I wish there is some place where I can lodge a complaint against these people.

Insulting and demoralising.they provide NO assistance to people now. Fitzroy Legal Service is no longer committed to original Social Justice guiding principles or philosophy. They hurt the vulnerable.

Great service, but be prepared to wait on a line for quite a while. It s a free service so pretty normal. It s better to arrive a bit before 6 as people are already in line before the office opens!

Recommend for newbie who want to taste local law system in the land. It's free but the queue some times quite long.

Best in Melbourne but not as good as the early 80's. The government cut backs have affected the quality of the service, which in the end of the day suits our current politicians well. Most govern departments are useless today including VCAT

Long wait time @ the dropin night - understandable but make sure to get there as early as possible. Good for overall general advice but dont treat as gospel. The advice I received in regards to getting my name off the lease (in co-tenancy) wasn't correct; cost me significantly because i trusted their advice

One shouldn't complain of a free service, but I felt generally unwelcomed and staff seemed eager to rush me out the door as quick as possible.
