Fitz Curry Cafe - Indian Restaurant in Fitzroy reviews
23 This is such a cute little restaurant. The service was absolutely amazing and probably the most professional I've found in an Indian restaurant so far. The owner was incredibly polite and more than happy to attend to our every need.
If you come here you simply MUST try the Malai Kofte, it is one of the best I have ever eaten and I will absolutely be coming back solely for this.
The prices are also incredibly reasonable and you definitely get your money's worth.
This restaurant is in such a great location and has such a cozy vibe with its low lighting. The owner should really consider dressing up the restaurant a little. Some coloured light shades, neon/string of lights, a modern Indian mural on the wall. This place could have a line out the door if they were to make the interior a bit more colourful.
Also the music was very very old. Throw in some Sidhu Moose Wala and Diljit Dosanjh and it'll definitely liven up the place.
Regardless, I will be back.
My family have been coming here for years (and we live on the other side of town). It’s our favourite Indian restaurant, the food is SO good and the staff are lovely. It’s really affordable too. We always walk away very satisfied and happy! Highly recommend.
This is the best indian food in melbourne. Staff are the nicest people and even gave us extra curry.highly recommend butter chicken
Nov 2022, unassuming and pleasant. The food was good and is one of the better Indian rest around. Their Sag Paneer was a highlight, and both veg dishes were of generous proportions (had to take some home). Nan was excellent, yet the Samosa and plain rice were average. Will certainly top of mind when craving Indian food.
Really enjoyed the garlic naan and the butter chicken, really recommend for a nice night out with the family.
I’ve been going here for 25 years. Highly recommend. Consistently excellent. Fitz is my go-to Indian cuisine.
Highly recommend this family run restaurant. Eaten here several times & it's always a wonderful & consistent experience. Warm & friendly welcome from the very hard working owners who are also the chefs & the food is fresh, delicious, generous & well priced. Loads of Vegetarian & Gluten free options & you can BYO Wine. The whole experience just feels genuine & comforting - music & lighting is perfect. Thank you for providing such excellent hospitality & look forward to seeing you again soon.
Fitz curry cafe has become my favourite place to order food. I orderd saag paneer and gobhi aloo which was delicious and it was not too oily like other restaurants. Keep it up fitz curry cafe! Cant wait to come for a dine in soon.
Best Indian curry I've had.by far!
Always very accommodating and also friendly, highly recommend!
Seriously good Butter Chicken. Layers of flavour from the tandoori chicken pieces to the buttery creamy sauce. I could happily relish Fitz Curry Cafe's Butter Chicken every day. A must must try!
Love this place. The food is delicious and the service is tops. A Fitzroy institution from way back.
Paneer felt uncooked, was very hard and tasteless. The order was wrong, brought a samosa instead of pakoras.
Nice and cosy restaurant. Very affordable and great food. Good authentic options. Highly recommend.
Great food well priced. Licenced and BYO. Simple restaurant friendly staff who are happy to let you catch up will friends for as long as you wish. Recommend it for a casual catch up with friends.
First time ordering. Delivery was fast. Ordered a hot lamb vindaloo and my first time trying malai kofta. Definitely the best Indian we've had in a long time. We look forward to having again in the future. Thank you!
Got some take away food tonight from here for the first time! I must say the chicken tikka masala was without a doubt very delicious! Fairly priced food, and as a local to Fitzroy I will definitely revisit!
Particularly good and consistently yummy indian food. Everything I have eaten here has been great. The setting is not fancy, but prices are really reasonable and service is always friendly.
Yummy food every time. Has always been such a lovely experience with a side of great rotis and naans, all at a reasonable price
Very authenticIndian. Food was pretty nice but would of liked a better sauce to rice ratio. Staff and venue were great
Ordered the chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, basmati rice and the rice with nuts mixed into it. The food was really good, vindaloo was comfortably spicy. Would recommend the nutty rice over basmati. One rice is enough for two people. The garlic naan was good, but I think there was too much butter, would try their regular naan. All in all really good food, nice staff. Great place! Good prices! Stop by here.
