Excellent fish and fantastic chips. Plenty of fresh lemon. And is that like homemade tartare sauce nice job lads

I had to place a star to post so please dont go by that.
I just called for the Gluten Free fish and chips, and was advised they no longer do them, only grilled fish.

We went at 5.15pm on a Saturday to try and beat dinner rush. There was no line to order and only one group waiting for their meal. I was told when ordering that the wait for chips was 30 minutes so didn't end up ordering any, but we ended up waiting around 40 minutes for our meal to take home. Definitely seemed like more staff is needed.

For food, we got the potato cakes, fried dim sims (no steamed available), scallops and flake. It was all good and the flake had a great batter and crunch.

Our order was taken quickly and handed directly to us and the woman on the cash register did seem lovely.

The atmosphere inside wasn't very calming or quiet to eat in, but outside seemed a bit nicer.

Great fish and other foods. Unfortunately we were told that chips were not available at 1pm.

I had a chicken schnitzel burger for lunch today. In contrast, I found the burnt chicken schnitzel. When I asked the staff, they guaranteed me that everything was fine. This is the way they always make chicken. I think it is unfortunate that I am receiving such poor service. I will never return to this restaurant!

We stopped here for a quick lunch on our summer holiday on the island and found the fish and chips to be of a memorably good quality.
Perhaps even the best I have ever had.
My only complaint being that the prices were on the high side however it is given that you get what you pay for.

Everything was fresh, not oily at all! Had the chicken schnitzel burger and the flavour was amazing! Would come back here from Melbourne just for the food, best fish n chip shop on the island!

Ordered grilled, battered fish, Greek salad, calamari rings and a vegan burger. Overall, fish and calamari were fresh and tasty, battered fish was crunchy and full of flavour. Grilled fish was soggy on the other hand and calamari slightly oily. Would prefer to order battered fish next time.

Fish was large and tasty
Potato cakes had potato in them which is great instead of just batter.

Amazing fish n chips, nice crunchy golden chips and fresh flathead. Burger was great as well and well priced compared to other shops on the island. Kids absolutely loved it as well.

Great calamari rings. Please do not order grilled baramandi and flake worst taste ever had. Fish was too soggy and chef argued, that’s how the fish will be. I have been there to a lot of fish and chips shops. This is the worst fish I had.

Lovely fish and chip shop with friendly staff. Seperate gluten free fryer for some gluten free options of calamari, chips and grilled fish. Plenty of parking nearby

Was here great service 55$ family meal is perfect and filling for a 5 person family with allot of food left over for later. Loved the taste of the flake and the person that served us was lovely, best fish and chip shop by far!

We had lunch here, I ordered burger, it was good.
My cousin ordered fish and i did not like it.
Chips size was good.
I was happy with my meal.

Great food been twice now and both times food has been excellent
Calamari was best we have had and grilled fish was nicely done will definitely call in again

The food was well made and tasty. I would recommend anyone passing through the area to try it. We found the calamari and battered flake as good as any we have had anywhere in Melbourne. I can only hope it's as good the next time I pass through.

If you are look for the classic fish and chip experience with that local coastal customer service experience Fishbone is the the place to go. Great selection of fish and chips plus the best burgers on the island.

So happy I found this place after our local fish and chip shop has slowly gotten worse and I now refuse to go there
