I completed the full time program offered by F&TvS a while ago and it's been disheartening to see the slide from a great place for actors to cut their teeth to a money squeeze offering fickle placement in an agency as incentive
Craig and Dominques (The Owners) family has grown significantly in the past decade and their focus has rightly shifted from the business but instead of narrowing their scope they have only expanded.
The main result is the quality of classes has greatly diminished and Dominiques insight has almost entirely disappeared
They hire amazing coaches who due to their active careers in entertainment have to miss some nights. In the past this wasn't an issue, but too many balls in the air mean classes are often moved, "made up" or given to another trainer. This is the nature of the industry but seems to be getting worse. I struggle to recommend this place to anyone who isn't an immediately marketable "soap" type of actor. Craigs background in that area limits his casting imagination and his agency picks are becoming increasingly "safe"

This acting school is totally worth coming to. If you dream about becoming an actor/actress, you can do it, by coming here!

Brilliant school, high class training and trainers, Incredibly inclusive environment. Training here has been one of the best experiences and I can't wait to see where it takes me in the future.

I’m incredibly grateful for my time learning at Film & Television Studio International. The quality of trainers utilised is exceptional, with some of Australia’s best actors and actresses sharing their wisdom, skills and experiences. From boot camp, to archery, to in studio lessons; everything was incorporated in the full time course with ease. Any hiccups caused by the global pandemic were dealt with by the Film & Tv team with grace and professionalism, ensuring we still achieved the best learning outcomes. I’ll be walking away with a huge new set of skills and experiences I never would’ve had otherwise.

As a graduate of the full-time course, I couldn’t recommend this school and its programmes more to anyone who is serious about working on their craft. The team at Film & TV thrive to get the most out of their students and the calibre that is generated shows just how dedicated the team is to each and every individual. I still part take in the short-term programmes as the opportunities that come from Film & TV are unlike others around. The environment alone makes anyone who walks in the front doors wanting to further their acting journey feel welcomed and apart of a big family! This place holds a special place in my heart and I hope others can experience what I was so lucky to learn and absorb from not only the amazing team but the colourful and professional array of mentors and teachers (all of whom are working professional) that this school provides.

PLEASE be careful enrolling here, I'm unsure why there are so many positive reviews - it is so so unprofessional. My time here was one of the worst experiences I've ever had - the culture is so destructive and awful. This school completely destroyed my passion for acting.

I completed the full time course in 2019 on a whim after seeing an ad through Kate Jenkinson on insta. It looked incredible so I thought why not. It was absolutely mind blowing, if you are thinking about getting into acting and don’t know where to start, START HERE! It’s really personalised, and tailored to each person, and I made the best group of friends through it too. Was an experience I will hold onto for life, and the owners Craig & Dom (and Ash, PA extraordinaire) are some of the nicest people I have ever met. 30 weeks wasn’t long enough, I want more haha! Needless to say I now also do night classes and have a permanent apartment in Melbourne now (I also live in Brisbane).

I completed the Full Time course in 2019 and had an incredible year. Film & Television Studio Int have a beautiful space, are very professional and provide a high standard of classes. I was able to work with some amazing teachers, mentors and industry professionals and gained so much insight and valuable knowledge over the year which helped me grow as an actor. I'm so grateful to have studied here and I highly recommend to anyone who wants to pursue acting.

This establishment is dedicated and passionate about the craft of acting for film and television. I was fortunate being part of the full time 2019 intake and had the most inspiring experience. I worked with directors and actors in the top of their field from across Australia. I loved the work so much that I added additional night class on top of my full time study; working on American dialect and scene study.

I completed the full time course in December of 2019, this course covers a wide range of techniques and helps you to find the approach that works right for you.

Their courses feature a veritable all-you-can-eat buffet of knowledge and skills, not taught by just some everyday acting teachers, but instead taught by some of Australia's best professional actors and other top industry professionals. You can soak up as much as you could possibly want and these courses will STILL have more to offer you.

I’ve been working in live television (still am) for the past 5 years as a TV Psychic and absolutely loved it. I wanted to learn more about the television industry and I was fortunate enough to meet the cast and crew of Neighbours. I looked at a few acting schools and I was so drawn to Craig McMahon and Film and Television Studio. I tried out doing Craig’s night class in Term 4 of 2018 and that was it I was hooked. I completed the full time professional year in 2019 as well as taking on extra part time night classes. I have learnt do much and still continue to learn as I undertake more night classes. The school has so much to offer and I was in awe of the great actors, directors and teachers who were my mentors. It’s also not just a school, you get a sense of belonging and strangers become family. Craig, Dominique And Ashley run a tight ship with strong values and professionalism.

I remember when I was looking through the various acting academy's & institutes both in Melbourne and Aus wide in 2017/18. I looked through just about every place. I've since been to quite a few of Melbourne's resident acting hubs and whilst each will provide something different Film & TV is the place. And don't get me wrong I've had nights at film & tv where I've gone home in a mood because I've come in unprepared or late or with the wrong attitude or even feeling prepared but being 'cocky' and driven home in a foul mood often to learn the lesson that was intended days or even weeks later. The team at Film & TV will treat you as one of their own. And by that it will come with everything we need to develop, whether that's the tough love at times or the encouragement when we are putting in properly and taking strides. Take a look at the mentors on their website that we get access to it's honestly very exciting to be apart of and I think in the years to come Film & TV will be known as the home of acting in Melbourne!

A place full of great people which inspires amazing trainers to come and teach here. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to to try acting for the first time, or hone their skills as a working actor.

Such an awesome team and atmosphere to be apart of. The staff and students are so accepting too all who walk in. From day one they try their absolute best to build confidence in people not just for their class but for life itself. For that and more are most deserving of 5 stars and a THANK YOU.

Sorry excuse of an educational establishment! I’d learn better acting watching the Teletubbies 30 hours a week! Owner has questionable training and business ethics! Take my advice go anywhere else but here - Kissing good money goodbye

I’ve been at film and television Australia for almost 2 years.and I’ve never been amongst such professionalism until coming here. Both the owners Craig McMahon and Dominique McMahon dedicate so much time into associating with only the best trainers (working actors, directors and writers). And the most educated people in the industry to teach individuals of all skill levels how to act. I dedicate my heart to this studio and thank them deeply for the opportunities they’ve provided me with. ️️️ If you have hopes to be apart of the acting industry on a serious level, there’s no better place to start.
