Ferrovia reviews
40Had dinner there tonight (6 March '20) with friends. Nice small intimate atmosphere, friendly staff and good service. Dishes chosen ranged from paccheri with pesto and prawns through to a calabrese sausage dish. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Will visit again.
Best service! Amazing coffee and food. You can have a genuine chat with these guys and It's so lovely when people remember your name and regular coffee order! Great little community of people!
Food beautiful, service excellent and staff amazingly welcoming and friendly. Easily accessible from Melbourne City. So glad we made the effort to go after it was recommended to us. I would absolutely recommend this place.
Honestly I came here hungover and had a pounding headache, I ordered the bruschetta breakfast and a coffee and by the time I had finished I was awake and ready to continue my day after eating what was the best bruschetta I've had on this side of Melbourne!
This place is so good, always freshest food and the pasta is to die for! Staff Chefs Riccardo and Salvo always happy to come and explain how they put the dish together
Ground staff and Manager
Remy, Teresa, Inga, Olivia, Kira, Catalina Gregorio, Abhi are always very welcoming and service is spot on.definitely recommend
I went for an espresso after my workout. I stayed 5 minutes but they kept harassing me to buy food. Coffee was ok.
Overall a nice experience. Reserved the last star for wow factor which was missing. I will definitely try out different dishes in the future to find the star item.
Great atmosphere friendly staff great food nothing to much trouble. Specially game & seafood nights
Great, fresh & delicious breakfast. Excellent, warm & friendly service. Will definitely be back to try other dishes, can't wait. Thank you
Food was really good. Service was great. Top atmosphere. Beer was cold and wine was good. A place I would recommend
Our go to place, the coffee is the best in Melbourne! And the food is awesome! It's got such a lovely warm welcoming staff that I feel guilty if I go anywhere else!
Ferrovia has always been one of our suburban highlight in this corner of the world. Food is delicious and coffee is consistently great. Staff is personable and my kids have always been welcomed.
Coffee is delicious depending on who makes it. Friendly staff! They will make your coffee fast you when you’re in a rush, they are reliable! Sometimes coffee is a bit strong/bitter but generally good
I've been here with my 1 year old multiple times for breakfast and now dinner. Staff are really welcoming and friendly, food is always fantastic and can't resist their coffee and cakes. Well deserving of a perfect score!
Not quite sure about the amount of positive reviews. It was our first time here, based purely on the above.
We ordered a bruschetta with poached eggs and eggs in purgatory.
The bruschetta toast was slightly burned, topped with huge pieces of tomato with barely any oil through them, not to mention the lack of any Italian flavours other than the flavour of the tomato. The poached eggs were tiny, and the moment I cut them, the yolk ran through the cold massive pieces of tomato only to immediately become cold; where was the bocconcini!?
Eggs in purgatory was not spicy at all. Zero kick! Eggs were slightly under cooked and the sauce whilst saucy didn't really introduce any authenticity in Italian flavour as it could have easily been eggs and canned baked beans mixed together; and a burnt piece of toast!
As much as the service was top notch, the coffee was excellent, the food was not of the same calibre.
*We were not charged for the bruschetta, which was appreciated.
Here is an excellent little nook of Pascoe Vale, tucked away right near the train station. Staff are always warm and welcoming. The coffee is excellent, and the food is of a very high standard, but also of a reasonable price.
Would definitely recommend for breakky, lunch and brunch.
I'm moving to the area soon and wanted to try out this local place. And I have to say, these people sure know what they're doing with their food!
My partner and I had the lamb and eggplant polpette for entree and roast spatchcock and grilled rib-eye for mains. All dishes were fantastic with the polpettes melt-in-your-mouth tender. I ordered my rib-eye rare and it was cooked perfectly. The sangiovese we had was also smooth but full of taste and had a smokey fragrance to it that was lovely to just sit with and smell.
The mains are very decently priced at approximately $25 a pop give or take, however they do not come with any sides so you need to order them separately unless you literally want to eat only a slab of meat on a plate. The sides will only set you back another $8 or so each.
I do believe the quality of the food is definitely worth the price tag. Danny, the owner, is super friendly to boot, as are all his staff! We stayed for a long chit-chat afterwards. It was a great way to be welcomed into the neighbourhood!
Used to be mine and my partners favourite cafe but with the changes to the menu we will not be back very sad
Small cafe with great food cooked on site and awesome coffee. Even has its own little deli with small goods. Coffee is best in suburb with friendly staff and great menu, but get in early the good stuff sells out on the busy days. Little court yard out back and some seating inside but great atmosphere.
Been coming here for around 3 years now, and they just keep getting better every time (and they already started out excellent)
