Fern Gully reviews
10Very much a serene hideaway in a tropical rainforest only minutes from the CBD! There is a main path with various other paths running off to see little hidden gems. The little creek running through provides the lovely calming ambience. Sadly however there arent many seats to sit and enjoy the place.
One of the highlights of the Botanical Gardens. You feel really immersed in the rainforest feel as you meander through
It'd be nicer if the flying foxes were still in residence. I would have thought giving a home to animals that are important to Australian flora and are pollinators and seed dispersers to some of the trees they label "endangered" in the wild EG The Cabbage Tree Palm, would have made sense? And been kind? Indigenous Australia needs a fair go - not eviction. Just saying.
Amazing little slice of heaven on Earth, feels like you’re in the middle of a rainforest while you’re in the middle of Melbourne, very peaceful, very relaxing, lots of fans, tall trees, dense canopy, and the sounds of river running, just overall very relaxing and a good part of nature to be around.
Indeed, felt like in a rainforest, plenty of tree ferns around. Serenity in the middle of a city, best when it's less crowded. My pit stop whenever I visit botanic garden.

This magical piece of rainforest is lovely to wander through (even if we haven't seen fairies fluttering around), also a shady part of the Botanical Gardens where you can escape the sun on a scorching day.
One of the most beautiful spots in the Botanical Gardens. There are three new additions to this space, each of them a little sanctuary of calmness and seclusion. If you're lucky you may spot a kookaburra.
This is a truly mesmerising experience in this garden, you can see various different types of ferns across the globe all nestled here in this garden, the plantation creates a lot of shade, so it's very cool.
