Fawkner Park Tennis Centre

Very unprofessional. Our booking was moved from 8pm without prior communication made to us. The receptionist who worked the shift (Thu 14/09 at 8pm) was very unaccomodating and unapologetic with little to no knowledge of customer service. She advised that she had sent either a voicemail or email (neither method she could confirm - didn't even bother to ask what name the court was booked under).
We didn't receive any voicemail nor email from our end (otherwise we would've gone at a later time or asked for a court credit as this is not the first time VTA South Yarra have rescheduled our court times).
She was adamant that she sent it even when we showed her what we had on our end. Mind you, we have dealt with the same receptionist on several occasions in the past - whenever we requested her to send us a confirmation email when the court had been rescheduled, she never did, with an excuse that "the court changes are finalised and no one else can book the same court in the same hour". Very disappointed.

Hands down, the best tennis center in Melbourne! The coaches and staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. The different class formats allow something suitable for everyone while still having fun.

We usually book for 8am and the staff always come late and The booking should be starting from 0810 if they cannot make sure the staff arrive on time to open the gate and check in for the court.

Been here several times, and have had a great experience every time. Nice courts, and booking them is really easy and affordable. My interactions with the staff have always been nice. They even called and offered to reschedule themselves a couple times, once because of sudden lockdown restrictions and another time because my group couldn't make it.

Great people run the club. The courts although decent could definitely benefit from a bit of maintenance.

I booked a very specific court, no. 1, for a certain hour, and I got changed the time — that's OK, at least I was notified. The reason was that they keep the bookings on the hour. Fair enough.

However, once I arrived, we also were relocated to a court I didn't want (no notification in advance) — I use a lot of balls, and I need no. 1 so that we don't bother other players. A class was occupying our booking, and we were relocated to a shared court. Funny thing? At half hour, the adjacent court changed the players. So that the criteria of 'bookings on the hour' seemed just an excuse to get us out of the court we payed for.

The tennis program offered at Fawkner Park Tennis Centre is fantastic and there is a variety of options for players at any level (junior, adult, senior and casual/competition). The coaches are very experienced and passionate about the sport so you learn technique and tips tailored to your game during their coach and play sessions. The membership is very good value.

Some of the courts have been refreshed and are brand new. Great atmosphere and buzzing most weeknights and weekends. Absolutely love playing here and would recommend it to anyone!

Fawkner Park Tennis, run by the VTA, is a great community to be a part of, offering a variety of different experiences to cater for every person. With lots of social events and opportunities to play, it's hard to not want to keep coming back for more!

I would highly recommend the coaching sessions, with classes ranging for all abilities, age levels and weekly schedules. The classes are engaging, full of coaching advice and fun drills to target specific skills to help game play. The monthly membership costing $179 for unlimited coaching and cardio sessions is definitely the way to go to secure the best value for money!

Having experienced different coaches across a range of different sessions, it is great to see they are all at a high standard and all have great knowledge and skills of the game to help each individual player achieve success.

The Fitbit Cardio sessions are also a fun way to workout and a way to play some modified games whilst still having a hit! The high energy soundtrack is always a great motivator too! These sessions are best run with a full class to maximise intensity!

Another added bonus has been the recent refurbishment of the courts, adding a quality feel to the already beautiful scenery of Fawkner Park. It's nice to see management maintaining the centre and taking care of the facilities - definitely is a reason to keep coming back!

5 stars to the new management of Fawkner Park Tennis Club. My daughters tennis lessons have become fun and competitive for her. It’s amazing to have people running the club so professionally yet so welcoming. Great job keep it up!

Fawkner Park Tennis Centre is a great place to play and learn tennis. The facilities are awesome with the new courts adding to the experience. The coaching team have great knowledge and expertise and I would highly recommend them to everyone regardless of ability or age

Thank you, VTA, for a smooth takeover of Fawkner Park. The difference is tremendous, with a first class coaching staff who are so professional, patient and friendly. What an improvement with the new courts - once the cafe is up and running we will have a 5 star + facility.

I disagree with the coaching comment below, unorganised and not professional at all. It seems like the majority are junior coaches. Top three courts are great, its a shame the way the new management are running things.

I previously rated Fawkner Park Tennis Centre as 1 star. The management of the facility and members was very poor. I am pleased to revise my rating to 5 stars. FPTC is now under new management with the Victorian Tennis Academy. They have been fantastic in the past couple of months. They have resurfaced 3 courts which badly needed replacing. They also offer a really good membership - you can pay your membership monthly (I think its $179 or $189) and you get 3 group lessons a week an unlimited cardio. I enjoy the lessons - they make it fun with a good mix of rally play and technical drills. If anyone was burned by the previous management, I would recommend giving them another go:)

So excited to be able to play on brand new courts with coaches who really seem to care about my progress as a tennis player. So close to St Kilda Rd offices, it makes for a great option any time of the day to get away and have a quick hit. Thinking about having a team building day here!

Amazing community with some of the best coaches around Melbourne. Super easy access to the venue. Heaps of car parking spaces nearby. Friendly people and ranges of all ages and abilities for tennis players

This place is fantastic! Since the VTA took over the facilities a few weeks ago, we have already seen significant improvements. It is now a great facility with great coaching staff in an amazing location. I love the newly resurfaced courts and am looking forward to the new cafe.
