I am very pleased with my recent checkup experience at SHV. The appointment with Dr Srishti was right on time, and she was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

Great clinic and staff. The doc and nurse who inserted my IUD (mirena) were equally efficient and considerate where it counted.

I called to ask if I could come and consult with the clinic based on results that I had from a different clinic.

The receptionist interrupted me without even letting me explain or ask what I could do or how he can help me with it

He literally just said,

Those Results have completely nothing to do with this clinic

In a dismissive manner, so I just said, Okay, thank you

Was so disappointed by the attitude of the person who answered the phone. Came across so rude and standoffish - I felt extremely uncomfortable, I ended up just hanging up without making an appointment - no way I’m going here if that’s the way I’d be treated.

Made my appointment in advanced and was there 10 minutes earlier as advised but was only told later that my appointment will run late before the person before me just came in, at the same time as me. At this stage I would expect them to prioritise me over the client that was late on her own. Had to wait for another half an hour scheduled behind my appointment. Very disappointed and did not feel welcomed at all considering this is not a bulk billed service. Dr Emily is very friendly and professional though.

Had a really great experience with Dr Helen. Very caring, gentle, thorough, and entertaining. Really eased my anxiety and made it a pleasant experience. Only feed back to the clinic would be to have better waiting room music. It felt very awkward and cringe with the radio station that was on. Maybe some chill Lofi beats or something would be more appropriate given the setting. Anyway, just a small bit of feedback as a consumer:)

The male receptionist here is horrible.
I dont feel comfortable coming back yo the Melbourne clinic & I hope he leaves asap.

Went in today for an IUD removal. The doctor (Kate) was really nice, considerate, professional and gentle. My appointment was exactly on time, and the receptionist was great too. He was efficient and polite. Thank you for such great service.

A while ago I had the worst health-related service of my life here with an implanon insertion when I was 19. I was unfortunately slightly late to my appointment. Apparently that meant I deserved to be treated like dirt. This was strange because the clinic was totally empty, and continued to be even as I left.

When I arrived, the receptionist glared at me and was very curt. The “nurse” (I question if they were even qualified) was so unfriendly she was almost hostile. It was honestly bizarre. I should have walked out then and there. But I didn’t, and after the procedure I discovered the “nurse” had unbelievably made TWO FULL INCISIONS into my arm (one on either side of the implant), which will leave two scars when any info about this procedure you will find says only ONE INCISION is needed. I was NOT told of this before or after. There is NO MEDICAL BASIS for two incisions here.

I am not that fussed about the two scars, it’s that this hostile so-called “nurse” apparently just slices into people’s arms however she feels like it, and sends them off without a word of explanation. Maybe she thought I would be too stupid to notice.

I sincerely, sincerely regret not reporting this immediately. In case anyone is confused, this is blatant medical malpractice.

Great doctor and reception staff (would rate them much higher than this rating). However I need to bring it to the readers attention that I went in to this clinic (and paid for) and initial IUD consultation and was not told until during my appointment that I would have to wait more than 3MONTHS for an actual insertion appointment. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable when individuals need contraception, it borders on discrimination that we should have to wait this long and be sucked into paying for a initial consultation to just then have to go elsewhere! I was not impressed and this clinic needs to make a point of advising clients that there are significant wait times before the second appointment!

Dr Kay is one of the best doctors I’ve had. She really listens to me, she’s compassionate, and provides excellent care and education. Would recommend SHV highly

This is great now in every center in Victoria to be tested for AIDS, hepatitis C or Syphilis you have to be gay or a drug addict!

Where are we in the 80s?

Male receptionist is incredibly rude and ill informed: for a clinic dealing in such sensitive matters that is completely unacceptable.

Several daily calls for a week to the nurses line as well as messages left went totally ignored.

Have sought services elsewhere.

Receptionist was really rude and unhelpful.i have tried to call the nurses for two weeks now with no calls back.

I needed to get my IUD swapped out and was really nervous as the one I had inserted years ago at a different health centre was really painful and traumatic. Liane inserted my new IUD for me and made me feel so comfortable and safe throughout the entire procedure. A nurse by the name of Liane was so kind. She chatted to me the entire time to keep me distracted and after it was finished came to check in on me.

I have never received such a level of patience and care. The staff here are wonderful and covid safety measures are great. Thank you for making this so easy for me. I appreciate your care and support.

Rude receptionist who provided a terrible service.
I called to make an appointment, but the receptionist was EXTREMELY RUDE. I told him that there is no need to refer to people like that. I didn’t schedule my appointment, I will never go to this clinic and I won’t recommend it to anyone.

Honestly, I didn't feel welcome or looked after. Making an appointment for something I have never done before, and when I made the appointment, I asked if there was anything I needed to know to be prepared for the appointment, and they didn't really give much help. I felt judged and uncomfortable.

The staff were really friendly despite the clinic being busy. The doctors and nurses were knowledgeable and approachable making me feel comfortable. They ensured I was well looked after and made my appointment really easy so thank you!

Dr Sally is a great doctor as she listened to me patiently with the care to explain things where needed. I felt good seeing her

It’s a shame because the family planning clinic used to look after everyone and a few years ago was always able to help in times of need. But now appointments are almost compulsory and hard to make as they can get cancelled in such short notice and hard to get affordable health care for young people as the prices are unrealistic, such a shame.
