Family Life Cheltenham Opportunity Shop reviews
7 Don’t touch the mannequin, it is actually a person!
Went browsing today with my mother in law, lovely shop with some nice items for sale. Did not expect to be confronted by an uncanny valley mannequin which turned out to be a real human. Very strange experience here in Cheltenham, Victoria.
Appalling customer service today. Blocked in the car park today by three elderly women, one who was a volunteer and her two pals. For 15 minutes my car was idling whilst these elderly women socialized, laughed and gossiped knowing I was trying to leave as my car was halfway out of the parking bay unable to go further whilst they slowly unpacked about five small boxes of books, talked, laughed and kept their backs to me. Their car blocked the entrance, had all the doors open and was parked in the middle of two bays. I didn't toot the horn, yell at them (even though I wanted to) and the volunteer even cast a couple of filthy looks at me. They had no concern for anyone other than themselves.
Was contacted by Family life and they apologized for the outrageous behavior of the elderly volunteer, which I appreciated. I have adjusted the stars from 1 to 4 but left some of my description of the incident and thank Family Life for their proactive response.
Just visited this place and seeing the Indian woman at counter with her feet up and pick at her toes, then proceeded to take my merchandise wih no thought of disinfecting her hands made my stomach churn. We are in a pandamic!
I love coming here! This Family Life shop in particular is quite large & it's neatly presented with a good range of furniture such as couches, coffee tables & chairs. The window displays are always merched really well too! Something usually grabs the eye as you walk past. The staff are wonderful. Helpful & sincere. Oh and it smells really pleasant in store. Think it's a diffuser they have going. Thank you Family Life, you're ace!
Friendly staff, would be 4 stars, only it's a small store so don't expect a huge range
