Famil-LEE reviews
32Had dinner here recently after not being able to find somewhere to eat and thank goodness we found this place! Such a welcoming environment from the two staff that were working tonight! Amazing chicken and sides <3
Love love love their kimbap! It’s so delicious and savoury, plus the little sauce they give you is yummy
Amazing value and super quick service. They were able to fit us in on a fully booked night. Great food, we were super happy. You’ll definitely get a good feed here:)
Consistently one of the better KFC venues in the CBD, I’ve been coming here since it was ‘Busan’ (seems to be the same menu and I think the same owner?) The chicken has a light and crispy coating and just really hits the spot. Definitely worth checking out!
Absolutely loved this place. The decor exudes a very happy and cheerful vibe. Their kimbab (Famil-Lee, with the lot) is delicious. Also had the ttoekbokki (mild version) which is rich in home made sauce. Korean fried chicken snow cheese flavour is a must for any night out!
The food was delicious!
the kimbab and tteokbokki so gooddd!
and writing this review at the restaurant for the 3rd times!
What a hidden gem! We had dinner here on a Thursday night and the restaurant was packed! The food here is super delicious and the portions are incredibly generous at very affordable prices.
The tteokbokki is only $25 and it’s perfect for sharing between 3-4, plus you can add all different kinds of toppings like cheese, ramyeon and fried snacks. Definitely order their house made kimbap as well!
The fried chicken is super crispy and juicy too. Highly recommend trying some of their premium sauces like Honey Butter Garlic and Creamy Onion!
This new family-run Korean restaurant is gaining a lot of popularity lately, and I can see why. The food is not only delicious but very affordable too. Highlights were the fried chicken and kimbap. You can’t miss their huge tteokbokki plate either!
Disappointing. Kimbab was bland and didn't look or fresh, and the fried chicken (soy garlic and snow cheese) wasn't as crispy as it should've been.
The fried chicken portions were also on the smaller side.
Definitely not worth your money!
Super delicious and affordable Korean street food in Melbourne!
Fami-LEE is a newly opened hidden gem in the CBD serving up an incredible Korean street food feast! Portions are huge, prices are affordable, and customer service is fantastic - there’s no wonder why this place is becoming so popular
Their menu features an extensive range of Korean street food from Kim-bab, Tteokbokki, Fried Chicken and snacks!
Featured:
Cheese Balls ($14)
Made in-house, these cheese balls are super crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and filled with so much stretchy cheese! They’re topped with a sweet cheesy powder which makes them even more addictive
️ Kimchi Pancake ($18)
This pancake is seriously large (and very filling)! Their version is thick in the middle, with the edges nice and crispy
Kim-bab - Corn Cheese Kimchi & Pork Donkatsu ($15ea)
You MUST try the kim-bab here! An iconic Korean street snack, they are super delicious on their own and even better paired with the wasabi mustard dipping sauce
Rose Tteokbokki ($25 + toppings)
The portion size is HUGE and can definitely feed a group of 3-4 easily! You can add any toppings you want, like mozzarella cheese, ramyeon, and deep fried snacks (topping add-ons are also very generous too!)
Korean Fried Chicken - Honey Butter Garlic & Creamy Onion ($43)
The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy, and again portions are huge! Love the unique sauce options here - the Honey Butter Garlic is super sweet and dangerously addictive, and the Creamy Onion sauce is so delicious
Fishcake Soup ($24)
Super warm and comforting, and perfect for colder nights! The broth is light and clear making it easy to slurp down, and it’s served with a generous portion of fishcake skewers
Soju Cocktails ($15/glass)
They have 5 unique cocktails to choose from, each with a different fruity flavour profile You can order by the glass or as a jug!
I was disappointed with the drinks provided, I ordered a strawberry latte and they gave me strawberry nesquik, the powder didn’t even dissolve at the bottom and they put whipped cream on top. I think the menu items for “latte” should be changed since it’s deceiving for what you actually get, it was also $7.
After asking the waitress about it, they let us switch the drink but afterwards, the two workers continually stared down our table for the next 20 minutes.
The food was okay, however the service and the drinks made the mood ruined.
We walked past this place a few times and decided to give it a try. So glad we did.
Ordered 2 dishes:
1. Original Fried Chicken (with bones). Crispy juicy chicken. Not oily at all.
2. Rose Tteok-bokki (with extra ramyeon). The sauce is creamy and smooth. Just a little bit spicy. Good amount of rice cakes and fish cakes.
Delicious food, great service, highly recommended.
Had the best experience here. We had an insane spread of almost every food on the menu, the food was delicious and service was amazing!

Hands down to the best Korean food in Melbourne. The serving size was huge too, so expect to leave so full! A a great place to be with a group of friends!
Found my new favourite Korean street food restaurant in Melbourne CBD. Craving this amazing korean feast we had last week. Enjoyed a delicious korean spread with soju and beer.
We got:
Rose Tteokbokki
Sausage & Rice cake
Honey Butter Garlic & Original Fried Chicken
Familee Kimbap
Corn Cheese Kimchi Kimbap
Braised pork belly
I love this place! You get so much yummy food from the meal deals, and there’s a lot of variation within the deals to change it up.
Plus their tteokbokki is the best in town. They also go the extra mile - the lady who gave us the take away ran down the street after us when we forgot to wait for part of the meal. Plus our cat gets a new box to play in every time we order!
Been in australia for 15 years, and i finally found a korean restaurant that sells decent rice cake. It is the best too bad that i don't live in Melbourne.
Love love love this place! Great food and very friendly service.:) The tteokbokki is as good as I remember and the korean fried chicken is very yummy as well. Food is reasonably priced and the owner is nice enough to give us free rice! Will definitely be coming back soon!
Got the mild tteobokki. It was amazing! I’m starting to think that i’ve never had proper authentic tteobokki before, because this tastes so different in a great way. 10/10 will be coming back.
Located on the top end on Exhibition St, this family business produces one of the best Korean street food I've ever had. Ranging from Fried Chicken to tteokbokki, they do it right.
1. Honey Garlic Butter fried chicken. It was love at first bite to the very end. Hot, crispy, juicy and beautiful kick from that garlic.
2. Spicy Tteokbokki, the perfect dish with the cold weather coming up at night. Chewy, saucy and spicy
3. Fish cake soup, the perfect companion to wash down the heaviness of the chicken and tteokbokki.
4. Fried Chittering. Unique I must say but it compliments very well with all dishes.
5. Got ourselves some fried mushrooms, veges and pumpkin which is essential to dip in that spicy Tteokbokki sauce.
6. Kimbap. Oh my it was so good. Cleanses the palate with all those fried and hearty goodness.
Also, honourable mention to the lady who served us. She was absolutely wonderful and basically treats us like a Famil-LEE. Will definitely be back to try their other food.
Really enjoyed rose tteokbokki and fish cake soup. It comes in a cute packaging. Would definitely order again
