Good location, big room.

It's a huge hostel - one of the bigger ones I've stayed in! It has quite a few common areas for socializing, and in different levels (that's new for me), coin-operated washer/dryer, and a large kitchen. It's to be expected with so many bodies floating around, but cleanliness is slightly lacking. There are plenty of private bathrooms, so that's such a plus! The rooms themselves are somewhat small, but sufficient. Each bed has it's own secure locker, privacy curtain, wall outlet, and night light. Overall, a pleasant stay!

Kind of expansive, $120 per night in the room for 12 people, in Melbourne I had a bed for $75 in the room for 8 people and its 8 months ago, good location, free breakfast, not enough showers

I am staying at 4 female dorm room.

Room is really clean (Room 115)

But I can hear noises from the hallway some French speaking ppl are very loud as always

Bathroom is not too clean but it's bare able for few days so it's ok.
Wish bathroom was separated from female and male section.

If you are looking for a long term hostel try this 4 bed dorm. It's nice and cozy. Bed is fairly confortable. Curtained so u can get some privacy too.

Free breakfast, BBQ on Thursday night on the rooftop. Lots of smokers on the rooftop. Privacy curtains in beds, tiny Rooms. Organized hostel, game lounge room. Towel included. Downtown near Free Tram. Helpful staff.

Great location. Overall, Kitchen was very dirty but that's totally acceptable. It's very hard to find a hostel that has a very clean kitchen anyways. The biggest downside of this hostel was the homeless people. There are a few homeless people have been staying there for a long time. First night, I stayed one of those rooms with a homeless person. The room was very smelly. Literally stinks. Management changed my room very quickly and told me that they were aware of the situation and they would do something about it.
I don't know is the situation still the same but that would be the best for the hostel if they get rid of those people.

First hostel we stayed in, in Melbourne and it was exactly what we needed. Friendly staff, really comfy beds and such a great atmosphere. The breakfast was amazing, make your own pancakes! The kitchen is really well equipped and whilst the hostel was fully booked, it was never too busy in the kitchen. The bathrooms were mostly clean and showers were good. We would have happily stayed longer.

For the cost, it has everything you need. Bed with curtains and outlet, some common areas, lots of showers/toilets, fully equipped kitchen and breakfast included.

One thing that stopped it from being 5 stars were how long it took to check-in and some other administrative/management things that seemed inefficient (rooms! Beds not being ready at check-in). Also, recommend, if there are 10-15 people waiting to check in, it would be more efficient to give information about the hostel to them as a group rather than giving each person the same 1 minute speel as they check in. This would speed up the process a lot. Alternatively, a QR code with all the rules/info guests would need so verbal explanation not necessary.

Went here last night and had a great time. So many choices, the air filled with music and smell of delicious food. After checking out all the food stands, decided for chicken and sausage and chorizo paella paired with Sangria and chewy Turkish baclava for afters. Everyone was having a good time and we’re waiting patiently for vacant seats.

There is a white old cleaning jerk in a hat always harrassing residents with trivial things he's not happy about and make a fuss to harras young people. Such a problematic personality, would people feel secure to let this whatever deal with the rooms? Also dear manager would you shout at your staff behind a locked maybe a soundproofing door please? Or else your smile and lovely speech patterns to the residents would just sound manufactured and spurious.

The rude French people dont know how to line in a queue and would smoke indoors horrible!

Only kidnappers would confiscate the passports and would only treat the passports better at least than the very brutal male asian receptionist here in this very place.

Maybe it's just ok for the price, but i would just want to say the tall asian boy at the recetopn SHOULD STOP switching to speaking Chinese just becuase he sees a China name; if he was talking in some prestigious accents (either mainland or other china regions), with beautiful fluency, I would have no problem with it. As he could not manage to speak it beautifully with good intelligibility, please just stop. I have to say, it is not a pleasant variety of Chinese.

Maybe it's just ok for the price, but i would just want to say the new female receptionist who is a (non Australian) Vietnamese is quite disrespectful and not helpful as she would prioritize to chat on the smartphone rather than dealing with the booking of the guests. However do not confuse with the Australian born Vietnamese female receptionist with a deeper voice, she is majorly nice and patient.

Did the job as a hostel but couldn't refund to my card at night when I checked out early for a flight and their advertised airport transfer doesn't run any more.

It's one of the best hostels I've been in Australia. Friendly staff. Curtains, plug and light on each bed. Clean for backpacker's standars. They keep an eye on conflictive guest. The only issue is that the common areas are underground so no natural light at all so not very nice areas to chill if it's cold but it has a beautiful rooftop.

Just to borrow a hair dryer, it's very unreasonable to ask to hand over the passport, the utmost important item for any foreigner, and what's worse the reception asian guy treats the passport so violently that the personal info page got a crease on it! I am so upset!

Europa is one of the best hostels out there in the Melbourne CBD area.

It is light on your pockets and service is top notch

Great place to stay with comfy dorms.
Big and comfy beds with blankets and curtains for privacy.
The individual bathrooms are good as well. Not always clean though.
Huge kitchen with plenty of space to cook.
Staff is friendly and helpful as well.

I am a 71yrs young from Adelaide, paid for three nights on the 5 April, 22,23,24 April showed up on 22 April, and told I was not allowed in, I had photo ID. IT was for over sea people only, all texts had made it clear that my accommodation was ok and payment was sent and accepted. What a bunch of.

Nice place in the middle of the city family business and they look after you like you are the family great place great times

The beds were SO comfortable! Big, squak free, and with a privacy screen, lamp, and charging point. Two pillows and a free towel change every day. The rooftop area was lovely to chill in. I docked a mark because the bathrooms need some love. Poor circulation leading to unpleasant smells and mould spots on some cielings. Most hooks were missing from the back of the doors leaving the only place for your things as the toilet lid.
