I've twice attempted to see a salesperson here. The first time I was greeted at the door by a very polite young man who was very vague with information with some of the cars. He's not a salesperson, so it's totally understandable. He told me the next available salesperson would help me, but once he was finished, he went straight to a woman who'd just arrived and started helping her instead.
The second time I went, I was in the yard looking at cars. I saw a staff member, asked for help, and was told he'd be right back. I waited nearly 30 minutes, then I left. I can understand if he was helping someone else, but if that's the case, say so and ask another staff member to help.
Plenty of other Kia dealerships out there.

My experience at Kia Essendon was extremely positive!
Initially I dealt with the sales consultant Jack who showed extreme professionalism and kindness in the sale of the vehicle.
The finance team was also very knowledgable and willing to help in every aspect.
The entire team was amazing to deal with but there was one person who stood out above all and that was Rachel.
Kia needs to commend themselves for having such a bright, caring and intelligent employee.
Upon pick up and after sale care, Rachel far exceeded all our expectations and needs. Rachel provided fast and reliable solutions for any issues we may have had. She showed us kindness and was extremely approachable and very easy to deal with. There was nothing Rachel couldn’t fix or deal with. She is an absolute asset to the Kia team.
I would highly recommend Kia Essendon to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.
You will be greeted and dealt with by a very caring team of employees who will go above and beyond to ensure your happiness.

Just bought a new (demo) Kia Picanto from Essendon Kia! So happy with our experience that I had to write a review.

Planned on using chatgpt to help write this glowing review but changed my mind when it came back with this line … ‘Thanks to Jack and Kyle, we're driving into the future with smiles on our faces. ’

So, it’s a definite no to chatgpt! My husband will help instead…

Hubby says Jack was ‘so funny, competent, and extremely charming’… oh là là for Jack … my mistake, he just confirmed that that particular compliment was for me … I pushed him for a Jack specific compliment and he said ‘Jack was mildly funny, super competent and somewhat charming! ’ High compliments for Jack!

Do Kyle now, honey! ‘Kyle was tall, super funny and a little bit late…’ I just reminded him that *we* were 40 minutes late which meant Kyle had to disappear & help another lucky couple with finance but he ran all the way back when he was notified we had finally arrived… ok, he’s updated his Kyle compliment ‘Kyle was tall, super funny and is an absolute asset to Essendon Kia! ’ … I had to add the last part because my husband slipped away to do his workout but I promise it’s all true!

Jack is the exact salesman you want when you buy a car. Helpful, personable and NOT at all pushy. And very patient … took us ages to decide…

Kyle is the perfect finance guy. He managed to get us a great rate and spent countless time on the phone going through everything and making sure we were happy with the final outcome.

My husband and I are already planning to trade in this car after 2 years so we can do this whole dance again - hopefully with Jack and Kyle!

*** Essendon Kia isn’t so huge that Kyle had to run between customers … Kyle is an asset for 3! Dealerships in the area so had to run across car-lots & multiple lanes of traffic to get to us. Bonus points for Kyle!

Highly advise against getting any ceramic coating on your vehicle with this dealership.

Poor workmanship which cannot be properly fixed, due to the nature of ceramic coatings semi-permanent nature.

This can be done much cheaper elsewhere and to a much higher standard.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered my sportage June 2022 was told it would only be a 9 month wait, still awaiting the arrival - in this time I’ve had to change the colour of the car so I could get the car soon, after changing the colour I have then had the dates changed of when the car will be ready. My original sales person was never prompt in responding to my messages and at times would never reply at all. I then received an email today to ask if I wanted to pay for upgrades to my paint and interiors which I thought would have been done free of charge after what I have had to endure. In this time I sold my current car as I was anticipating getting my new car now I’m left sharing a car with my partner and getting lifts to work. Very upset.

A week ago I had issues with my Sorento's battery. After getting it started with a very helpful Roadside Assist mechanic, I was advised by them to go to the Service Centre at Essendon to get a more detailed check done (we were going away the next day and I was concerned about being stranded). Nigel went above and beyond, not only thoroughly checking the battery, alternator and electrical systems but also trying to track down a previous repair to the battery. He allayed my concerns about travelling and we had a trouble free trip. Thank you Nigel, your help was greatly appreciated.

The below was posted almost three weeks ago.no reply and no attempts to make contact.

I have been very disappointed with the service that I received at Kia Essendon. Up until placing the order everything was fine. 1 month out from delivery, there was a total lack of communication and inconsistency of information. The pickup date was changed numerous times. On one of the days, I received a call saying I was 'all good to pick up', only to receive a phone call 30 minutes later saying that the car wasn't yet ready. Emails not being responded to and phone calls not being returned all added to the growing frustration. I sold my car and had the buyer pickup the car a few days before the 'anticipated' pick up date and was then left without a vehicle for the three weeks until the actual pick-up date. What should have been a very exciting experience turned into a very frustrating and less than average user experience. I'll definitely be looking to another kia dealer when I go for regular servicing, not risking my car with Essendon Kia

They DONT allow long test drives.

I rang in the morning and organised to do a long test drive between 3pm and 4pm to see what fuel consumption is like in bumper to bumper peak hour traffic (along Mt Alexander road from DFO in Essendon to Moonee ponds and back the same way to the dealership). YET when l turned up l was FLATLY refused by the manger who said they don't allow such long drives.

I explained l wanted to see what the fuel consumption is like in real world bumper to bumper traffic and had already test driven the Ford Escape AWD, Hyundia Tuscon AWD (petrol and diesel) and the Sabaru Forester Priemum from their respective dealerships at Essendon fields. The entire route was just under 17kms and the duration was because of PEAK hour traffic along that route. It would allow me to accurately compare the fuel consumption of the vehicles l was interested.

I can not understand why when someone wants to test drive a car to see if it suits their purpose they are refused.

Its not like l am going spend 40-50k for a once of driven car. I need to know what its like, how comfortable l am in the car, how usable things are and what the fuel consumption is like in real world not la la l and that manufactures always state.

+1 Star only because of Danny the sales rep who was quite nice and understanding but unfortunately the one above him had issues. Both Ford, Hyundia and Subaru were ok with me doing this.

If l do buy the Seltos, it wont be from this dealership.

I had the most wonderful experience purchasing my new car from Essendon Kia. From the test drive down to picking up the car when it arrived. I even managed to pick up my Seltos 2 days prior to the agreed delivery date.

Ash and Rachel went out of their ways to smooth out any hiccups encountered during the purchase. Ash made it possible for me to get my Seltos as soon as he can as my car was written off due to an accident. Rachel later organized to redo the tints on my rear windows to make sure they were perfect. I cannot thank both of them enough for making me feel like a valued customer. I felt very spoilt indeed. Thank you.

The next car I purchase will definitely be from Essendon Kia. I now look forward to the Service Department living up to the same high standards of the Sales Department.

Between me and my wife we have called them 5 times in a 2 week period regarding getting new wiper blades, but never been able to sort this out because nobody returns our calls. On all 5 occasions secatary promises someone will us back, but still waiting. I think it would have been easier to pick up an elephant from Africa and bringing it back rather than trying to get these blades. At the end we just gave up from being exhausted and now I'll be going to another Kia dealer to get them.

Unfortunately over the years they have become more and more unreliable. Lack of communication between staff, very unorganised when ordering parts etc, repeatedly sent me service reminders for other peoples vehicles (despite me telling them they are sending me the wrong ones). Overall not a pleasant experience. Kia have great vehicles but in my opinion Essendon Kia service department leaves a lot to be desired.

A delightful sales & Service team. I have only personally spoken to Joe in sales and Connie in service but the experience I have had here at Essendon Kia is unrivalled compared to any other Kia dealership. I 100% recommend Essendon Kia to all of my friends and family be it for their new car or for servicing their existing one.
