I train at Windy Hill Fitness Centre. I walk past the Essendon Cricket ground on a regular basis. I see lots of people walking or jogging around there.

Great place to walk your dogs and still experience the 'winds' of the Bombers from the past

Great value and great food
Lamb shank which fell off the bone with mash and vegetables cooked as mum did including parsnip and surf and turf.
Highly recommended

Haven't been there since the glory footy days of the 80s at bomberland. Parts a bit run down but still has atmosphere

Our meals were excellent, good variety, staff were friendly. Recommend the Essendon Club Bistro.

Miss this Ground now no AFL played here. Not sure whst crazy idea the MVCC will dream up for it. Nice to see still used by the local League (EDFL). Ground itself still in good condition. Grandstands sad and empty.

Fairly basic cricket ground/football oval. Good for running laps. Gym and swimming pool next door.

This oval is still in magnificant condition it is amazing to walk around it; the atmosphere must have been electric and memorable, when the Essendon VFL/AFL club, was playing here, will all those famous players.

We had lunch at Windy Hill which was very good both value for money & a most enjoyable meal. Thanks very much.

A Victorian Premier Cricket ground that's a jewel in the local area that maintains a 'village cricket' feel but with enhanced facilities. A delightful mix of the local Essendon Cricket Club rooms and bar, plus a Bistro and Bar in the 'Windy Hill' facility run by departed in all but name, Essendon Football Club.

How the great have fallen into a crumbling heap. I'd imagine it is like visiting Chernobyl.but without the radioactive fallout.

Windy Hill venue. Unusually quiet after a VFL loss last Saturday night. Staff very un Essendon FC like.a bit weird.
Whether we stop using pokies money so much or not?
Still need a shovel to dig a hole. Shuttle bus between venue and Tullamarine?
As clear as an opposition player being spun 720° with possession of the ball then getting paid a free for being held without possession when they place it on the ground because it just gets too hard.
Got a fantastic meal elsewhere. See the review. Several of us had a great night and arranged further catchups. Company paid.
I hope the whole suburb and local economy isn't copping a lug.
Other district cricket clubs and networks are currently more pertinent.
Most respected, most successful, most inclusive?
We have some work to do.

Brings back memories of football games for me. It's a good walk around for that reason. Not as useful as the Victoria Park community conversion but it still has more of a club role I guess.

Went to Windy Hill for my birthday lunch. The Warm Greek Lamb Salad I had was DELICIOUS! Windy Hill is my home away from home

Few places are as sacred for VFL/AFL fans as Windy Hill. Even tho the 30,000 crowds are gone it still has some magic about it.

Convenient Place to stop for a drink with friends after work or an average meal for the evening.
