Escape Room Geelong - Prison Break

The staff were really lovely, knew how to make a joke and made the experience even more fun. Escaping was tough, but worth it just to feel the accomplishment at the end.
I would definitely recommend it, it’s even better at night!

We booked our Educator's Day function at the Prison Break Escape Room and we absolutely loved it. The hosts were amazing and made the experience really fun. The puzzles are great and the atmosphere is fantastic. The time went so quick. We highly recommend this experience.

Was a great night! Had a group of 19 which made it even more competitive! The staff were lovely and had great humor. My friend loved coming here for her 21st! Definitely coming back!

The puzzles are very well designed. The concept is great and consistent. Alex, our host, was so funny and helpful.

However, as we booked as a group, we were hoping for an activity that would require the collective effort of the group. Maybe another one big puzzle at the end to get out of the prisons after we got out of the cells? That would be perfect and would tie everything together.

Very easy to book in, hosts were very welcoming. The puzzles we're just the right amount of challenge and we got out first!

First time ever doing an escape room and omg it was so much fun! Adam was an awesome host/prison guard and the puzzles were challenging. Highly recommend I haven’t had that much fun in a long time

I had always loved the idea of a prison break escape room. I was incredibly excited. I was in a time in my life where I honestly did not have a lot of money. I'd just finished university studies and was transitioning into consistent work.

My birthday was coming up, so my girlfriend and I looked at booking an escape room. This was a really big deal for us at the time, and really was organised as a special occasion that we really had not been able to afford prior to this. I'd gone online, booked a session for myself and a small group of friends, and processed the payment details for the following week. This was done on a weeknight and I needed to get to bed afterwards, as I had work the following morning. I had thought everything was well and good.

This was not the case, for the following morning I looked at the confirmation email that I had been sent a little later on that night with the date and time for the event, and it was booked for that very day, only a couple of hours away. There was clearly some kind of error that had occurred, I had thoroughly made sure when booking online that the correct date and time was entered, even passed my phone to my partner and got them to proof read it and and check that the correct time was entered. I hate being stuffed around by other people and in turn I hate stuffing other people around.
So as soon as I realised what had happened I contacted the venue. I wanted to sort things out as soon as possible and explain that something had gone wrong. They have a 24hr cancelation policy. I had only received the confirmation email with the incorrect date/time, on the day it was supposed to take place, shortly before the event. I tried to explain that there was a mistake, and that I wanted to try to sort something out. Whoever I spoke to on the other end was not willing to discuss, and insisted that I would be charged in full and that I would have to book another session at what should have been the correct time.
I'd been really looking forward to this event and even would have considered trying again, except I could not afford to. I literally had nothing else, this was something I'd especially put aside for my birthday and it had been taken without hope of retrieval.
This was a very sad and disappointing day for me, and I felt particularly insulted and spoken down to by whoever it was representing the venue who spoke to me on the phone. I had pleaded my case and told them what had honestly happened and they were unwilling to compromise or organise anything around this. My making an effort to contact them as soon as possible meant nothing to them, and they insisted I should have done so sooner, even though it was a physical impossibility, as I was only notified of the incorrect scheduling hours before the incorrectly scheduled time.

It is up to those who read this review to decide whether or not this was right or wrong. I recognise that given the situation it is actually just my word against theirs, with me saying that I definitely entered the correct date and booking info, and them saying I messed up and its tough luck for me. I will insist I was in the right because I pride myself for being an honest person, and being so is very important to me.
What was true is that:
I actually could not afford to rebook. I had saved this up for a special occasion, and had it disappear in an instant without even getting to experience what I'd hoped to.
The way I was spoken to when I was truly trying to just fix things was being as reasonable and accommodating as I could be, was honestly disgusting. Whoever it was that spoke to me that day was belittling, condescending and uncompromising. The worst was assumed of me and I take that insult to heart.
Now where I sit, where I can actually afford to go back and might've otherwise been able to enjoy the event, it has been soured, so that even if I were to go, I don't think I would be able to enjoy it because of how poorly I was dealt with last time.

Prison Break is a great escape room, I have done a lot of escape rooms and this is one of the best! The location is really cool with a lot of history!

We had a fantastic escape room experience in Prison Break. The location has magnificent views and the hosts were friendly and professional.

Our group had a great time at the Prison Break Escape Room! It was fun to compete against each other to see who would Escape their cell first. Andrew, the owner also gave us a little history on the old Paper Mills which was a bonus and quite interesting! A great venue and a good time had by all. Can't wait to do the other room in Belmont, thanks guys!

Definitely a must do when you're in Geelong. Nice people running the show, had a bunch of fun with friends:)

The staff were friendly and helpful and the venue is really interesting as a building. However, the organisation and opening speech went for more than a third of the time and some of the artefacts in the puzzle were cheap and unreliable. Also, there were minor errors in the puzzles and it would have been better to tell us about those upfront rather than leaving it up to customers to ask.

Fantastic experience, great fun, the people running the room are awesome and super friendly! Would give 6 stars if I could!

This is by far one of the best things going around Geelong! Went to this place the other day with few mates and had so much fun. Very friendly staff and everything was well explained. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Some really unique and complicated puzzles that were to solve.

The space is used really well, the setting adds a whole layer of emmersion to the experience that you won’t find with many other companies. The puzzles themselves aren’t too difficult and are pretty similar to those found in most escape rooms, but it is still a unique experience to try to break out of an actual prison.
