Eric's Kitchen reviews
21Amazing dim sum place tucked away in a small shop. Tastes even better than a lot of the places in Asia.
EDIT: They now do eat in on the weekends. Great dim sum and service. It's a limited menu, but great quality.
A little take out styled shop that's full of great yum cha goodies. Most of the food was good, but didn't love the siu mai as it was a bit grisly. I would definitely go back as it's pretty much as good if not better than dim sum restaurants in the area.
Loved that they do dine ins on the weekend! Wish it was on the weekday too.
Quick and easy off the menu as their dine in menu is smaller than what you can purchase in the fridge
Their har gao was surprisingly amazing as I assume it's the same frozen ones. Did not taste frozen at all, their skin was thin and chewy and the meat was super flavourful
Would definitely come back to try their meal sets!
On Wednesday 14-6-2023, our visit to the establishment proved disappointing as we discovered that dine-in service was not available on the weekdays. Nonetheless, we were graciously presented with a delectable assortment of hot steamed Dim Sim accompanied by cups of fragrant tea by the lady at the shop. Additionally, a helpful young lady assisted us in selecting some delectable rice-dumping and wife's cakes for takeout. While the taste of Dim Sim was generally enjoyable, I personally found it to be slightly salty. To reassess and refine my assessment, I intend to revisit for a dine-in experience during the upcoming weekends and provide an updated evaluation in the weeks to come.
Amazing selection of frozen/refrigerated Chinese foods to have a home! Many things we've had from Eric's can top most Chinese restaurants. They're so tasty and well done, and the staff is super helpful! The siew mai and bbq pork puffs are the best!
My happy place! Best Hong Kong dim sums. Reminds me of home. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good value for money. Especially love the shark fin soup and the siu Mai’s. And all the special treats for Chinese New Year. I just take home to bake/ steam - super easy.
Lovely service, food clearly labelled with cooking instructions and allergens. Red bean buns are especially fantastic.

Went to a friend's for dinner, and was served up a number of items from Eric's Kitchen. And they were so yummy.
So had to ask our host where did you get these from.
Eric's Kitchen may have a small shop front, but their big on taste.
A true hidden gem. They made some of the traditional dim sum way better than most yum cha places in Melbourne.
Was absolutely amazed at the dimmies. So full of flavour and have a great texture. A great place to pick up all the little afternoon snacks. All frozen foods so you'll have to wait till U get home to enjoy them. Pork buns are top notch
Finally found quality Hong Kong Style dim sum and deliver to the other side of the town. Ready made is fresh and taste good after heat up. Curry fish ball is bouncy, Cheung fun peanut sauce taste just like in Hong Kong. Frozen series is ok. Chicken feet and pork rib is tasty. Price is average. Service is good. Will definitely come back for other ready made manu
Yumcha craving satisfied during covid period, and still buying from them now! Very good food and friendly staff!
Very nice dim sum place. 非常好!讚!the salty duck egg bun is so well made, so as the shrimp toast! Delicious
Food is mediocre, another shop called "Dim Sim Project" close by has much better quality Chinese dumplings for sure.
Traditional home-style things.
In my budget.
Single serve sizes are good.
Good team-work and friendly service.
Rude attitude towards customer when tried to call for delivery. If u are staying nearby, don't expect a delivery as Eric thinks that it is ridiculous if u could go out to coles but cant drop by at his store, unless u prefer to lock yourself up during this lockdown period. Love their food but very turn off by his attitude. Not going back again.
OMG!
I grabbed the Sui Mai and the Pork Dumplings for a little “Muck Bang” with the family and WOW what a culinary delight these added to our meal. Cook them as the little stickers say and wow!
Shop: little, clean and quaint with just lovely staff who great you with a big welcoming smile.
Cost: put it in comparison to buying out, we calculated this to be around a $50 meal out and about but we spent no more than $20 and are well full.
If this is the introduction to Eric’s Kitchen I can’t wait to try more and stock back up on my Sui Mai’s and some dumplings. Take away outlets beware as Eric’s Kitchen supplies the best tastes in the area!
Apologies I didn’t get any photos as the kids and us ripped into them.
Where have you been all my life
Hidden gem
Delicious dimmies, plenty of fillings
Friendly staff and frozen take home options available
Highly recommended
What else can I say? Absolutely Sensational. Nothing like you have ever tried before. Fresh, top quality ingredients, easy to prepare (or should I say cook - no preparation necessary).
I was advised by a work colleague to give this place a try - It came highly recommended.
I bought a variety of products from beef dim sims and pork dim sims, prawn and scallop dumplings, pork spring rolls and also the vegetarian. I have a VERY fussy family with young kids and I'm pleased to report that they loved it all. So too did I and my wife. Really good, top quality ingredients make all the difference (as well as a good quality soy sauce - A good soy sauce really compliments the food you eat. In my books, never spend your money on great quality food only to ruin it with a cheap sauce).
Made fresh - Not frozen, although they do sell frozen stock. When I was there, they were making everything fresh so (of course) I took the fresh stuff over the frozen.
I would highly recommend this place. Great friendly staff and I will definitely be going here again. I don't think I could ever by Coles or Woolworths dim sims or dumplings again. Once you try this place, you'll find it hard to go backwards.
Very impressed - I just love pure high quality like this and it comes at a very good price. Well done to everyone there.
BTW the soy sauce that I use and recommend is bought from Coles but you don't buy it in the sauce isle - You need to go to the Asian section where I buy the 'Pearl River Bridge' brand Mushroom Superior Dark Soy Sauce. Quite rich and sticks to the products you put it on. I've attached a photo.
The lid is awful though as if it has sauce on it (and you close it) it splashes everywhere over you and your clothes. I'd end up giving the lid a 1 out of 10 for the stupid lid design. I put glad wrap over it now when I close it as I know it will splash everywhere.
