I recently had ACL reconstruction surgery, Im a 15 year old girl and the Nurses that had helped me while I was there were incredible, caring, kind and friendly I was in the children's ward and whenever I asked for help they were there for me straight away. To add onto that the food was incredible I would like to give a big thanks to all the nurses because it was a scary night for me and they helped me out a lot.

My dad just had a surgery there and there were multiple nurses taking care of him interchangeably, most of them were pretty friendly and responsible. Especially, a nurse named Lisa is super responsive, caring and supportive. I just rlly wanna express my thankfulness to her cuz there was actually a medical issue on my dad after the surgery, and Lisa was so nice on taking rlly great care of us.

I went here for a TAC shoulder operation with Dr Eden Raleigh. The team took great care of me, breakfast was really good, espresso wasn’t bad. Very easy to get here by tram. When I went back a couple days later to change my bandage at the emergency room it was covered by Medicare.

Today was my first visit for an appointment at the Epworth and I had a great over all experience. Very clean hospital with friendly and professional staff. I really wanted to leave this five star review though because the two very lovely ladies at the information desk were so nice and cheerful and helped me when I was completely lost trying to find where I needed to go for my MRI. Despite a lady being very rude to them both as I arrived to ask for direction they were still smiling and and so helpful. Little would they have known but I am claustrophobic and MRI's are really hard for me, but there good sense of humour really helped shake off the nerves. I hope you ladies see this review and get the recognition you deserve. In my opinion your the face of the hospital and the first place people go for help and direction and I think your both doing a fantastic job. The world needs more smiling faces like you ladies.

My 7 year old son had his surgery here just the other day and besides the fact the surgeon was absolutely amazing and the anaesthetist was amazing. The actual hospital staff themselves were phenomenal. My sons is a very high needs disabled boy with a lot going on. They treated him so kindly and lovingly. They never showed any frustration at him at all. If they were frustrated they never showed it. He does not like hospital setting and he was very very difficult I was so tired and getting upset and they looked after me and reassured me and made me feel safe for him. Any decision they made was never in haste and they genuinely cared for him. It was the best experience at a hospital. Not to mention the food is ridiculously good. I've never felt so satisfied leaving a hospital as I did yesterday. They informed us about everything didn't leave anything out didn't leave me with unanswered questions or uneasy feeling. I can't thank the nursing staff enough.

The pathology team was extremely polite and friendly on the 5/08 first thing in the morning. I was so impressed with how everyone greeted me and made me feel comfortable. It was the best experience I have had in a hospital environment. After my tests the attendent recorded the information of where I needed it sent to. Unfortunately by the 15/8 I had still not received any communication about results being ready, neither had my psychiatrist. Then I called the Epworth and they said the results were ready and what would i like to do with them? Strange question since I had already given them the details to pass it on to. I then had to give the details again they faxed it through with zero apology or explanation. I am not happy that I had to chase up my results and not receive any explanation as to why, this means receiving my script was significantly delayed.

I don’t actually even know where to start. I think with the staff. That old saying “ You’re a product of your environment “ applies to this hospital. The environment the staff create for patients and their visiting families is outstanding. From doctors to nurses to cleaners to food staff no one at this place behaves differently. They are a team and treat each other equally. You don’t just see it you feel it. Jo Dalgleish is one of the top ED doctors in our country. I’ve worked and watched our best and she is up there. This woman treats the whole patient not just the symptoms you present with. She is first doctor then the friend every scared patient needs. She assessed my mother by listening to what she’d been through over the last 2 years. Losing her husband, her grief her torment. She held her hand and listened and then after what seemed maybe an hour I realised she was ordering the works in the background. She was watching her breathing. She could hear her nasty cough she knew exactly what was wrong with her from observing her. My mum got to chat and talk about her life while this kind doctor assessed her and let mum forget a bit about just how sick she had become. Not many people find their calling in life Jo Dalgleish found hers. She makes a difference.
My mother had specialists jump straight in and work with her already assigned specialists. They all knew each other and only spoke highly of one another. One told her he was as mentored by her specialist he had taught him everything he knows. She felt so safe in their hands. These doctors got stuff done. She had let her health go when she was caring for my dad plus she likes to “ soldier on “ a bit. All the staff at this hospital wrapped her up in cotton wool while they were so efficient. Thanks to the staff at this hospital she is on the mend. And to Elliot the nurse. I’m so glad you left sound engineering and became a nurse the world is a better place having you in it. Nurses like you make change, your kindness will never be forgotten. Mum still talks about you all the time at how wonderful you were. Thankyou to everyone. Oh yeh and wait until you see the food menu it’s out of this world!

What a great experience here. My teenage son came in to the Epworth to have his wisdom teeth (4) removed. Easy check in. Wonderful nurses that took care of my son and made him feel calm and relaxed. He had a lovely room in paediatrics with TV too. 10 out of 10.5 stars.

Nurses amazing not fault and you can see clearly they love their job and care … food the best high quality … top surgeons … but OT especially the one from UK who has no idea of Australian standards and care yet works there and the social worker who does not check on the patients status before jumping to conclusions should be eliminated from that hospital no compassion no care at all gives that hospital a bad name so only gave 3 stars and a star less for each of those 2 I’m appalled by their lack of compassion it was like how soon can we kick this person out like it was her own business … like she’s getting an award on how fast she could kick a patient out with hardly any plan for them at home had someone had not stepped in and demanded it

They saved my life. I had emergency surgery while on vacation from the US. Spent ten nights there and had several great nurses.

Massive thank you to the doctors and to my 2CATO Nurses: Nurse Riva, Nurse Jess, and Nurse Francis who took care of me after my surgery. I was well looked after during my recovery.

Food selection and taste were very good as well.

It is my second surgery and I can’t help but be disappointed as I didn’t get a private room again. Last time, the patient beside me was having a coughing fit. This time, patients in the ward are snoring. It’s a bit uncomfortable sharing the space with other people. I’m not sure why they have so many wards instead of private rooms. Would be better if it’s the other way around.

Dr Priscilla Auyeung is an absolute horror of a doctor. Ignorant, rude, ill informed. If it was possible to interrupt herself I'm sure she would.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Planned to perform a 30-minutes procedure there and got a phone call from them a day before, advising that my admission fee is not covered by my private insurance and it is 2K AUD in addition to fees already paid. This was a late call, I did not have a chance to check with my ensurer one more time and did not have other choice than to cancel the procedure. Just wondering why they waited till the last day with this information. As soon as I registered my account they started to send me useless information about COVID19, but not a single word about admission fee.

Staff are excellent and very tolerant of patients who may become a little frustrated with their situation.

I spent the day at Epworth Richmond ED and couple of days ago and right from the minute we arrived they were fantastic. The nursing staff were absolutely amazing all day. Always checking on me and very attentive to my needs. The Dr’s were very much the same and did not give up on finding what was causing me to be there. Could not fault any of the staff at all and would recommend anyone that needs urgent medical attention to certainly head to the Epworth Richmond Emergency Department to trust them to look after them.

I have used the Epworth emergency department for my toddler and also used them separately for a surgery for her yesterday. The hospital is faultless. The nurses in the paediatric ward are the best in their field, the hospital is clean, the rooms are large and the food is fantastic. I will honestly never use another hospital again.

I had to wait 4 hours just to get a workers clearance form. Like I understand that there is more important patience, but waiting 4 hours for something that takes 2 minutes is just ridiculous
