Emerald Lake Park

Great food at the cafe, the water bikes were extremely fun and relaxing. All the staff anf service were exceptional and overall a nice relaxing place to spend an afternoon

Beautiful spot with lots of opportunities for families. Many areas to picnic/ have lunch. Small playground. Paddle bikes that can be hired to use on the lake itself.
Miniature railway that you can look at - paid entry.
Puffing Billy crossing is here and you can watch it come in and out up close and in person. Newer addition is the info centre complete with gift store, cafe and mini museum area with old steam engine bits and pieces. Frequently art on display too from local artists. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place for a stroll. The Emerald Station to catch Puffing Billy is also located in the same premise. Went there in Winter but it would be fascinating to go in Spring. Lake views beautiful around the year.

Beautiful park suitable for any weather. Bins provided and ample parking. Cafe, puffing billy and paddle boats all within a walk of each other.

Will come back in summer to see if the swimming pool is in operation, I remember swimming here as a kid but as it hasn't changed at all, I question whether it is still operating, would be a shame if it isn't.

The wildlife here is amazing and everywhere you go you'll be sure to see something native. I really love coming here.

I've removed one star as the playground could be improved it really isn't much and doesn't suit all ages and the swimming pool is in question.

Awesome place. It's worth the travel to have some strolls and witness the puffing Billy. The station is in the premises itself. And the pedal boat is much relaxing and enjoyable. One of the places that you must not miss out on. The way leading to the Emerald Lake Park is also really good. We visited this winter and it was scenic. I bet it would be a pleasant sight for your eyes.

Fabulous family friendly location, see Puffing Billy Train, beautiful scenery and wildlife. BBQs, toilets, play ground, shelters, cafe.

Beautiful gardens for walks, especially around the lake. Cafe has ice cream and treats great for an afternoon out. The hire paddle boats also look like a lot of fun. Plenty of parking though it is paid.

Great place for a picnic. Beautiful lake, gardens and bushland. Good for a walk as it has 10km of walking trails. Kids even adults would enjoy the paddleboats. We have seen people fishing in the lake. An hour drive from Melbourne CBD or catch a train to Belgrave station and then a fun ride on Puffing Billy trains to the Lakeside station.

A beautiful stop off from the Puffing Billy Railway with a very scenic lake and walks. The walk itself is quite easy and there's some great wildlife to see on the way round.

We went there on a family day trip on puffing billy.
The station bathroom was clean and functional, the “tea room” cafe/ souvenir shop it is a tad over priced but that is to be expected.
We went during the dreaded times of covid and had to return the exact train and carriage that we came on, which didn’t leave much time for exploration.

Beautiful park, experience nature. Perfect place for a family trip. The park has got barbeques and cafes. Kids will love the aquabike

Awesome place for a relaxing day to hang out. Has Bbq/picnic areas, Puffing Billy and a nature trail.
Only gripe are the paddle boat prices. They are a little steep at Emerald Lake:/

Fantastic photography opportunity, but a duck with line and small sinker around it's leg was upsetting to a few people, paddle boat operator did his best to attend to this. Not sure if he was successful. Out side of that a lovely time. Thank you.

Man, oh Man! What can you say super fresh, super soft & super tasty donuts.
But they come with a warning.buy what you like and run away fast or you'll just keep buying & eating they're sooooooo good

Great place to relax and bring the whole family for a BBQ picnic. Kids will enjoy the paddle boats. Great views and enjoy the beauty of nature. Hear Puffing Billy pass by through the woods. Recommended!

Very nice park, a lot of barbecues covered eating areas, picnic tables. A few little walks to do around the lake. I recommend for a family outdoors gathering

Beautiful lakeside park with plenty to see and do. There are walks, paddle boats, and even a swimming pool. There is also a steam train! Heaps of greenery and lots of native birds inhabit this park.

Good for a visit and for short walks and bbq, the lake is another attraction with pedal boats, kids will enjoy it. There is a height limitation for kids under certain height. Bbq area usually packed on weekends and holidays but overall a great spot for getaway with families and railway museum at the corner. Parking could be tight at times, and it is a paid parking area
