Ellora St Kilda reviews
35Food was delicious and the staff were so friendly! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a vibey place with good drinks!
I don’t know if it was the post lockdown rules but the vibe was a bit stale and sterile indoors upstairs. I imagine if there was a DJ or band it would be so much fun.
Balcony is definitely where you would want to be sitting. Would be amazing at sunset! Table service was slow but nothing to get frustrated about. Staff were super friendly and bubbly.
We didn’t get food but the menu looked perfect for snacks/share plates with a few drinks. Cocktails all reasonably priced
Great event space with superb cocktail style food. Staff were great to deal with in the lead up to and during event.
Unreal cocktails with a great sunset view out on the balcony - the Vice City is going to be my go-to summer cocktail from now on haha. Thanks for the great service! We'll all definitely be back soon.
AMAZING! Atmosphere was absolutely incredible! There were two really cute bartenders outside throwing bottle around with the best banter! Then did a fire show absolutely amazing! I think their instagram was _flairdemons. Phenomenal! Cannot recommend enough to anyone!
We absolutely loved Ellora as a venue for my husband's 50th. The space worked perfectly. The staff were outstanding from organising the details for our event leading up to the event and on the night. The food was
exceptional. Everyone had a fantastic night. Thanks team Ellora
Amazing views over St Kilda beach, fantastic drinks lists, it’s spacious and the DJ is ways spinning the best tunes. Always a great mix of people wanting to party Staff and bouncers as lovely.
It is a nice place. Ellora is a bit over priced.for example a beer $10 dollar. However, the view is amazing.
I do not recommend to have the $5 dollars pink wine.it is terrible!
I was refused entry to a private event here for a controversial reason, without even letting me speak, the bouncer went on to verbally abuse me. Management got involved and sorted it out, I appreciate the response I received. My feedback would be to have a separate entry for private events and bouncers who show some respect and humanity. I have been to the venue before so I know its lovely inside, just a shame I couldn't enjoy the atmosphere this time
Before we went into another lockdown, I finally checked out Ellora, in St Kilda with a friend. They have been on my wish list since I first read about them, end of 2020. They are a cocktail and tapas bar [also do events].
Check-in is with the usual QR code app, then hand sanitisers and reservation checked off a list—all covid safe regulations. *I recommend making a reservation, especially for evening sessions, due to their popularity. The staff here are amicable and check in regularly throughout the evening.
As you enter the foyer, you can see the trendy Ellora logo and to the right, their function room, which was closed on this occasion. We were led up a flight of stairs to an open space consisting of a full bar, DJ area, dance floor, and barrels/chairs.
This led to the deck/balcony with bar tables, a sectioned off space, and a small function room filled with an eclectic collection of sculptures, furniture, and wall hangings—a hip and vibrant yet laidback vibe. The crowd varies in age, though I admit, I was the oldest there on the night - but I didn't care!
Tapas Recommendations:
Lemon pepper chicken with tzatziki dipping sauce $12 - four skewers of juicy chicken, basted in lemon pepper was a delight to eat [I could have eaten more! ] At first, I wasn't sure about the pairing of the dipping sauce. But it was refreshing and matched the chicken's delicate spices, and anything else would have overpowered the taste.
Coconut prawns with pineapple salsa $15 - four coconut-crumbed prawns, well-cooked, went perfectly with the chunky, pineapple salsa. You definitely need a fork or knife to add the salsa to the prawns as dipping doesn't work—my favourite dish of the night.
They have other tapas options, including wedges, fries, olives, and chorizo. I particularly look forward to trying their cheese or charcuterie boards. Prices are reasonable for what you receive.
Great views, service, beats, company and food - what's not to like about Ellora - drop in on them Thursday - Sunday - lunch or dinner - and enjoy the chilled and fun atmosphere.
Poor management and very irrespectful staff.
Cant trust them when making bookings, they will let you down 100%.
My new favourite venue in St Kilda. Amazing value for cocktails! Food was fun and yum. Great vibe overall.
The staff were lovely, especially Anton! We will be back soon.
Mobile Beverage Specialist - Liquid Infusion occupy the ground floor of Ellora Events (and we assume, they also manage the pop-up Bar on the upper level) and sell some mean cocktails along with other alcohol and beverages.
Cocktails bottled into 250mls & 500mls last for about a (if our memory serves us right) for about 4 weeks had the right level of punch and flavors. Quite rocking must say. They are great value for money knowing that these same cocktails are sold in affluent bars for more.
Loved the Espresso Martini as well as the one with Lychee. Does not mean we did not enjoy others
Good going guys!
We experienced a view like no other. Fantastic and friendly staff and amazing range of craft beers.
Such a great venue, great views, amazing staff! Anton & Freya are so nice & friendly they really take care and look after there customers. Highly recommend a great place to check out:).
