That hostel is worth a damn, people live there who seem homeless, it smells bad, the bathrooms are really dirty, they fight in the rooms hahaha, it's crazy

Worst decision of my life. Wasted money. People banging on your doors. Shouting, drug addicts roaming in the hallways. Bed bugs. Please please don’t waste your money here. Staff is so bad with customer service. Very rude.

I was attacked by bed bugs. I had to go to the dr to get cream and tablets to help. All they did was give me $7 to help pay for dry cleaning as all of my stuff needs to be cleaned. Terribly dirty and unhelpful.

Bad as Gotham City, filled almost exclusively with bad guys. If you leave food in the cold room, you will need to provide an offering to local thieves.
The bathrooms are filthy, the kitchen is under-equipped, the tables are always full of leftovers from the previous occupant's meal, and the toilets are beyond words.
Note at least that the beds are comfortable and the location rather practical.

Just a two-star hotel doing two-star things. BYO mental fortitude. Stayed three nights - on the first two nights police had to be called because other male guests were having a rather frightening drunken brawl in the common area. But the showers are hot in the evening (not so much during the day), the staff are friendly & I met some lovely roommates who seem to be permanent fixtures of this dive. The people are happy to help & despite everything I did sleep quite well. On the booking platform Agoda it states that they provide parking but be aware this is a mistake - there is definitely no parking available at the hostel itself. Also, while there are lockers in the rooms, you need to supply your own lock. Great access to Melb CBD - everything in strolling distance you don’t even need to catch a tram or Uber. Good place in a pinch, but probs won’t do again.

*Bed bugs*.
After moving rooms 2 times I've encountered what I now know as bed bugs, great that the carpet was replaced horrible bed change.please compensate for my laundry, from another laundromat if possible, now learning that they're present as soon as I leave my stay I need to have everything professionally washed to try save it. These things are all I have so *I need it saved*.

I have never experienced bed bugs before this is both sad and concerning to me.

Lovely staff here though, to any future guests reading this bad news so far- the staff provide adamant great service also good cleaning schedule. Sometimes too, they have more work ahead of them cleaning wise than they should.
I am so happy with how the place is run just so let down by all these bites!
Second time tonight asking front office what can be done. To be fair I'm not present during most of the day to see what they can do & have only told the night shift thus far because of that, these 2 times the past 3 days.

Edit: this time swiftly & quickly was helped to clean up everything beg bugs wise, including mattress and blanket and pillows and acknowledged that my washing need be done also. Just make sure you have means to get medicine & things like lavender essential oil to help in case of this happening when you visit.

Don't be disuaded, traveller.the photo you peer upon be Flinders St station, not the Elizabeth hostel but to be sure to be sure this Elizabethan hostel be not Elizabethan but of Elizabeth on Elizabeth. Rooms be downright funky, in a good way. Bathrooms be out of this fantasy world. Reception be. I'm out.

Exposed needles filled with blood in mend toilets.mice running from room to room.bed bug marks found on hands.cleaning done for upstairs toilets maybe twice a week at max.some people are cool some are dangerous.staff seems to not care that much.not worth even $50 a week to stay.

Absolutely horrible experience, only stayed there one night, and that pics was the smelly bedroom and with some long term residents living in there. The crazy lady turn the light on whole night, talking to herself and leave her all stuffs around. Public female toilet is disaster,

Really good and central position but not really clean and full of not nice people! The receptionist seems to not really understand English.

This is the worst hostel I've ever stayed at in my entire life (and I've stayed in a whole lot, including in very third world / under-developed places).

The whole atmosphere inside is very weird and depressing but that's the least of its problems. I ended up in a lower bunkbed that was completely infested with bedbugs. I wasn't even half-way through the night before I noticed one bed bug crawling over my cellphone screen which then made me realized they were all over the bed. All kinds of sizes and some full of blood (probably mine.). Like a bad nightmare.

After complaining to reception they didn't even take it seriously AT ALL. In fact, they didn't even care to find me a suitable place to sleep that night, and simply told me to wait until the next day because others beds were taken. They didn't even return the money from that or my further nights I had booked! I left immediately and only kept coming back to fight about my money back, to no avail. It seems to me like they have these situations all the time and sadly are used to getting away with it.

At that time I hadn't even realized the gravity of the situation. The following days my entire skin started to show the consequences of being bitten by dozens of bedbugs all over my body. I could barely move or do anything for more than a week.

Melbourne is an incredible city. Do yourself a favour and don't ruin it by staying here. I am amazed this hostel still functions and isn't closured as a health threat to tourists.

Don't bother staying here. They let in a junkie that was shooting up soon as he got into the room and went everyone in the room complained about him they did nothing so l left at 9pm and stayed in a hotel.

Interesting but welcoming people and fair management at even the worst of moments. ; This place has changed my mental space entirely, both for happy and depressed states of beings.

$90 to stay in a freezing cold room with a leaking ceiling. And there was no wifi or tv. I would give this 0 stars if it was possible

BED BUGS IN OUR BED! Awful.as dirty as it gets (toilets, kitchen, bed sheets.). Only good thing is the location.giving 1 star cause I can't give 0.

Very poor rude lyer bitxhes on counter I recommend no one the room's have no Windows no tv no fridge try to avoid this at any circumstances. Good luck

Everything as expected. Reasonable rent, updated and bathroom showers. Big on site kitchen with pots and pans if needed.

Good location, but small television, and noise from tram construction detract from the location and cheap prices
