Empanada! The cheese and onion is the best. The chicken was a bit dry though. They have four varieties when I went there a couple of times. The staff there on different occasions were both friendly!

Guys and girls after spending a extended period of time throughout south America. I can confidently say these are some of the most delicious empanadas I have ever had. Not to oily, light pastry premium fillings! Me and my gf come down every sunday after picking up a $15 veggie box and treat ourselves to these little pockets of heaven!

El Alamo is a small food stall in the middle of Prahran Market. They offer Argentinian empanadas, small pastries filled with a choice of beef, chicken, spinach & mushroom or cheese & onion. Janeca and I got a three pack on our latest visit to the market. The pastry had a nice crunch and the slow cooked beef was so soft. The chicken variety had really large pieces of whole chicken, you can tell the high quality of the ingredients they use. You must try putting some complementary chimichurri sauce on top of your empanadas, the herbs really elevate the pastries. The empanadas are good value, you can get 3 for $13. If you are hankering for something to satisfy your hunger in Prahran, you have to check out El Alamo.
