Best working hostel in Victoria, cannot recommend enough! Simon will find you work in time, his number one priority is it get you work. Hostel is great, spacious, all dorms have AC, dorms get cleaned and beds changed every week and some even private bathrooms. Only downside is the small kitchen, can be a bit hectic with 50+ people in with only one oven but besides this I met some great people and I cannot recommend this place enough to get your days done!

Simon is bloody good at getting people work and when harvest comes around (Sept- April) it’s usually non-stop. The rooms are well maintained, AC in all rooms, and Echuca has enough amenities to keep you going. Only drawbacks are small kitchen, the locks on the toilet doors wouldn’t always work, and it was a game of chance if you ever wanted a precious bottom bunk. Overall, would enjoy coming back and recommend it.

After a weeks of doing low paid fruitpicking jobs in Queensland. I decided to try my luck in Victoria. This was back in 2009, exactly 10 years ago. Somehow ended up here via via and I Immediately felt really welcome here. The owner fixed me a nice job at an american tomato company and I made sure I would not disappoint him. I stayed here for about 2 months and had an awesome time. I will never forget this and there I am eternally grateful. Also we had great discussions about the F1 driver jos verstappen and his talent. Max wasnt in the picture yet. Seems I was right after all ;) Hope this hostel is still going strong with the same owner.
