Ebi Fine foods reviews
64Quaint little Japanese restaurant that has amazing food! The tuna bento was so good, and the aunty that works here is so friendly!
Small Japanese take-away place with just a couple of indoor and outdoor tables for dining-in. Lunch time sushi and bento boxes are truly awesome and way above average Melbourne quality - excellent value too.
Been here a couple times and the food is always good quality, so delicious and authentic.
Sides are always fresh depending on whats in season and the menu with the bento of the day is always so well thought out. Today I got the Wagyu bento and that slapped!
The owner and workers and always so friendly and helpful.
Average food, and they don’t unfortunately answer their phone, which when combined with slow service makes this a secondary choice.
Loved Tan’s enthusiasm and warmth, her food is amazing! We enjoyed crab croquettes, potato prawn croquettes, slow cooked pork belly bento with freshly homemade miso soup, all delicious. Thanks Tan, her son and the team!
Very yummy and presentable food, the bibimbap was super hearty! I would 100% come again to try all the other dishes.
Delicious food, friendly staff and clearly passionate about what they make. Small, but clearly popular with locals. Very lucky to find this place on a random walk through Footscray!
Partner and I went here last night and I was absolutely floored by the freshness of the produce and seafood, the price (portions are hearty, and one main will sort you out), and the friendly atmosphere.
The thought in the composition of the plates, taste balance and freshness of the fish tell me this place isn't just a business venture, and the owners themselves love food. This place is and instant classic for us, and I will be surprised if the rest of Footscray doesn't catch on to this gem soon.
Great local eatery that l will definitely return and add to my favourites. Wagu beef Bento box was delicious and partnered with miso was very filling. Small seating area with few tables and bench seating but that just adds to the authentic Japanese vibe.
I drove like 10 minutes from my job site said open 11am I was waiting in front of the shop and the lady was inside and she won't let me in I was waiting till 11: 05 still not open! So I wasted my lunch time!
Great food, and terrific service, engaging staff ready to answer all questions and help promptly
Not the fanciest of places but the food is pretty good. The battered fish is the best followed by grilled. Not a fan of the steamed fish. Will just order battered next time. Also tried the prawn salad which was good. Expensive but big portion.
Honestly the most amazing owners - made my heart so full!
We got the chicken teriyaki bento and prawn gyoza and both were outstanding! Support your locals people!
Best bibimbap anywhere. Trust me, I order it everywhere and Ebis is second to NONE. Will be back again and again <3
Great restaurant. Quality bentos. Friendly staff. Their chips are the best in Melbourne. Crunch and golden, but not dry. Just fantastic
Highly recommended, we had the chicken katsu curry and grilled fish of the day. Fish was super fresh and curry was very flavoursome with super friendly service. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.
This is one of my favourite places! All the food is fresh and delicious and the whole vibe of the place is wholesome
We love Ebi, it's our Fav F&C shop ever. However, there is at least one new cook (female) & today our takeaway Large F&C pk was seriously overcooked (& ours was the only food being cooked so it wasn't down to pressure). Ebi's is SO good that it was still OK but nowhere near up to the 5* standard we are used to. I really hope this is rectified with some training - I would hate to lose Ebi's as our "go to".
Had 2 Bento boxes takeaway, duck and teriyaki chicken. They were hardly Japanese flavours, in fact each box had a Vietnamese pork ball while the chicken was just 'grilled chicken'.
The workers were speaking Vietnamese, so clearly is Japanese food cooked with Vietnamese influence, not exactly what I was after.
The worst part was the duck had an off smell and taste, had to throw out.
