Eastern Spice- Indian Restaurant Geelong reviews
38Honestly the best Indian food I have ever had. Delicious. Great friendly staff and beautiful flavours in the Curry's.
Ordered Butter Chickem which had very Aussie taste and Chicken tikka masala which was little Indian, giving 3 star for the excellent service but if you looking for Indian taste not recommended specially for the price and quantity.
Had 2 meals here in the space of 3 days. Quality Indian restaurant food. Very tasty, well cooked and well seasoned fresh food. Excellent service. Highly recommended
I am a vegetarian and went for dine-in at the restaurant. I ordered Paneer, Buttermilk curry and Naan along with some starter. I was horrified to find a piece of Chicken in my Paneer gravy. I have never had such a pathetic experience ever in my life. I lost my trust in them, I went back home on a half empty stomach and a bucket full of guilt of eating something which was not meant to be served. What if I was allergic to something in it? Don't they even know what goes in their food? What happened to food standards?
You may be located at a prime location, you may have good view from your tables, you may offer quick service and apologies but at the end of the day I was there just for food.
The BEST Indian food I have had in Australia and for such a brilliant price. I love the Punjabi Buttermilk Curry and the Bhatti Ka Paneer. The flavours really stand out and it seems that very good quality ingredients are used - the Naans are so good, I just love everything I have tried from Eastern Spice so far.
Average experience for a fine dining restaurant. Somehow the staff couldn't get our orders right, no apologies when we pointed it out. At a point we contemplated and ate what they served.
Very casual service and dint seem they cared if people were enjoying food or their service.
The food was really nice and less spicy. We got homely vibes in terms of spicies especially the amritsari kulcha thali. Loved everything
Had dinner here last night. Couldn’t fault anything. Food, service, atmosphere, view all outstanding. Probably the best Indian place in Geelong. Definitely eating here again. Thank you.
The chicken came black and burnt and the curry tasted burnt, i couldnt even eat it! I never would leave a curry ever before! Seriously gross
Are these reviews BS? I got the Cheese Naan and the Tandoori Chicken, what a massive waste of money, The chicken looks burnt, the Naan is way over spiced. NEVER AGAIN. Dodgy and rubbish food. Shame I can't score -4.
Lovely meal with excellent service. It was my first time with indian dinner cuisine. We will be back for more.
Nice food. Nice atmosphere and very kind staff. The ambience is very calm. A good place for dates or quite reunions.
Food was lovely, service slow and not very pleasant staff.well priced. Mango saffron lassi really nice. Lamb madras was outstanding, bombay beef and vindaloo both delicious.
Amazing food, pleasant relaxing views, friendly helpful staff who were great with recommendations.would definitely recommend them and will dine there again on future trips to this area.
Couldn't be happier with the friendly staff and the beautiful food everything was perfect. We will be back next time we are out this way.
In one word, it's pathetic. The service staff was moving like newbies. No clue what they are doing. I went there on a recommendation but I regret going there and even my friend agreed that their standard has fallen down dramatically. Though the food is still ok but we never go to a fine-dine just to stuff our gut, it's also about the experience, which sadly was ruined by the service staff. In short, 'Save your money, time and mood! '
The best Indian food in Geelong, love the atmosphere and service every time we visit. Highly recommend!
The thing about this place is, the food is great but the service is just horrible. It doesn’t even meet the standard of a normal restaurant let alone fine dining. The last two times we’ve been we’ve had a really bad experience trying to reason with them when they haven’t been properly prepared for us to come despite us booking well in advance, and sadly we won’t be returning anymore. Both times we’d booked 5 days beforehand. The first time, they scrambled together a table squeezed into the corner of the brightly lit bar area where people pay, and the next time they gave us a seating arrangement where we had to sit side by side and not face to face as a couple. Even when we tried to politely reason with them that it wasn’t what we had in mind for our dining experience, they snapped at us and stormed off. It is really disappointing when you try to be understanding of their restraints but they show no understanding for the pleasant eating experience you hope to have made reservations at such a restaurant for. The service people there seem to have no hospitality skills or even the ability to politely talk to customers. They don’t even greet when you arrive. It’s unfortunate that such a yummy place has such bad service.
In reply to the owners reply-
We were never told our table would be at the bar. The wait staff thought we were a last minute booking (she said this to us) when we had actually booked 5 days in advance and that is where they hurriedly put together a table for us.
The second time, we were 8 minutes early. This was just our way of making sure we are punctual to a booking. We would have happily waited those 8 minutes for a face to face table just like all the other couples had if we were told. We were also not offered two tables.
When booking at a restaurant, hoping to sit in the actual restaurant and face to face, aren’t exceptional requests requiring entertaining. Your wait staff makes us sound like unreasonable people who don’t see the importance of abiding by restrictions in a pandemic. We work in healthcare and the news. We are very aware of these things. We also do our part in supporting small businesses by eating from them often. We have only had pleasant a experiences in the other places we have booked. Your wait staff has simply given you false information. Both times we have decided to leave we have been very polite, but your wait staff has been snappy and rude. It is what it is. Thanks for investigating the issue, good luck to your business.
