We had the house restumped 9 yrs ago and it has now sunk to the same as before. We expect some settling but not this much. Derek gave the quote, sales pitch and described the process. However, the guys that showed up didn't appear to know what they were doing, spoke little english, were lax on safety. I recently went under the house and suspect some of the stumps have little to no concrete in the holes. At the time I remember trying to get hold of Derek when they were on site but that proved difficult and ineffectual. At the end of the day you need to get under there yourself to check before they book the concrete as the council inspector is not going to get all the way under

We reached out to Derek for a quote as we just recently purchased a new home and wanted to be sure it is level. He was able to squeeze us in to inspect the house basically the next day - which was amazing given the workload. He gave us a debrief after his inspection, which was very knowledgeable and covered multiple elements. Something I want to call out is that he suggested actually not to do anything and advised that no packing is required - someone saying no to a job and having alternate suggestions is something that is rare, and I value a lot. Highly recommend.

We never receive final inspection certificate from them. After months of trying, we reached out to the surveyor instead and learn that the certificate was never issued and they have communicated to Eastern Restump to rectify the issue months ago!

No wonder Sarah never get back to us when we emailed her and ask about our final inspection certificate. We also never have any success in reaching her over the phone as well. Shockingly unprofessional

This company are scammers who produce substandard work as they subcontract to others with no experience. It's been over 2 years now and I've never received my building approval certificate from them because the restumping done is not to standard. They never levelled my floors and no other stumping company will fix it because of Eastern restumping's original shonky work. They used stumps that are too skinny and not fixed properly and have still left old wooden stumps there. Avoid this company like the plague, I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

Mornington Peninsula customers take note. These guys do travel and will actually turn up on time and do a good job. However, it's only when issues arise after a job has been completed that you can rate how good a tradie is. On this basis I can highly recommend Eastern Restumping and Underpinning. After nearly being ripped of by someone in Rosebud for a re-stumping of my dad's place in Dromana (original weatherboard that had BV added later and God knows what else to the existing foundations), I was referred to Derek. Not only was the quote a lot cheaper than others on the Peninsula, when I had an issue with further building work months after the job was complete, he made the effort to come out, inspect and advised the builder on my behalf within a week of my call. Speaking to the builder afterward he said he was satisfied with Derek's response and 'the guy knows what he's talking about'. Can't ask for better service.

I had a very good experience with the Underpinning work done by Eastern. From a prompt first visit by Derek, followed by a Quote together with helpful advice regarding documentation required, it always felt very professional. When the work started they were always punctual, the onsite team were very careful, quiet and neat. The job became complicated when they struck rock, so there was an additional visit from the Civil Engineer to advise on the best way to proceed. I was so glad I had chosen Eastern for their experience, as i felt that everything was in good hands. I was very impressed with all aspects of their work.

Derek was lovely and well informed. He was happy to look at our place and explained our options. Very straightforward and didn't try to oversell any of his services. Super honest and would definitely contact him again if needed in the future:)

On 22/06/2020, the Eastern Restumping and Underpining had done a great work to repair my house wall crackling. Derek, David, Sarah and their team of workers are very professional and dedicated to their job. The result of their work had highly appreciated. I have no hesitate recommend the company to everyone.

Derek came through and gave us a quote on our little terrace house. We bought it 6 months ago and have seen a little bit of movement in that time with cracks and floor movements. The front also appears to be sinking. My partner and I are two women, and have had our fair share of 'sharks' come through to assess out situation, with a few of them talking down to us, throwing out ridiculous quotes and saying our house was stuffed. Derek was a breath of fresh air. He explained to us in detail which areas were more pressing to fix than others, gave us timelines and things to look for, and even talked himself out of a bit of work. We learned a lot about the history of the house through his eye and explanation. Really reasonable and genuinely nice guy. We will definitely be using him.

We called Eastern Restumping at a time when we were under duress; we had another company assess our new property and recommend many thousands of dollars of work. Sara very kindly setup an express appointment for Derek to visit us. Derek assessed our property, was patient and answered all our questions. Most of all he was honest and pragmatic and said that the property did not need any repairs. Many thanks Derek and Sara for a very honest and sound recommendation.

I contacted Eastern Restumping and Underpinning concerned about some cracking in the wall along one side of my daughter’s home. Eastern Restumping were very understanding and flexible and made an urgent appointment for Derek to inspect the house which I was very grateful for as my daughter was very stressed about the situation. Derek was punctual, friendly and extremely knowledgeable and professional. He did a thorough inspection and talked through the issues with me providing honest and constructive feedback with practical advice and putting our minds at ease by explaining everything very thoroughly. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Eastern Restumping and Underpinning. We had underpinning works done - 7 x 2.5 meter deep concrete pins, which needed to be hand dug due to gas and water pipes in the area! They did an amazing job!

We had Derek from Eastern Resumpling and Underpinning out to quote on relevelling our house and told us in his opinion, based on the cost and potential problems that would be created, that it would not provide value for us, taking the time to talk us through all the potential issues and concerns.

We had our house (a heritage listed, California bungalow) re-levelled by Haydn just before Christmas. Given the age of the property we were concerned what could be achieved with the floor levels, particularly with the minimal ground clearance. However, Haydn did an exceptional job and demonstrated real skill, patience and care in his work. We found him to be extremely professional, reliable and communicative - and a real pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend Haydn highly enough. Thank you

Do not worth half star, quoted me 3480 dollars for whole day jack and pack. Turned up the subcontractor spent 2 hours with his wife and told me nothing wrong with my stump and the floor gap will not close due to its not stump issue. Sub-contranctor said it will be less money. I am asking the admin for the new invoice that she wrote this: In regards to timing, we had written off the whole day for Haydn and his offsider to complete the jack and pack. This also included an allowance for travel time. We were not able to use the extra time for a different job.
I have to pay 3480 dollars with nothing is fixed for my floor. 2 hours work is freaking expensive that my floor gap is not closed and NOTHING is done. Geez.what a rip off! Be careful with this company.better stay away from the company!

First met Derek in May 2013 when he came to assess and advise on what was happening with our house which had developed cracked external brickwork and some damaged plaster inside due to settling over a 10 year period. Derek advised us to have a building engineer inspect and we received advice that our problems were easily fixed but it would probably be better to just leave the situation as is and observe what developed for a couple of years. Fast forward to February 2019 we decided to contact Derek once again and get his advice on what we should do in our situation now after some minor cracks in brickwork mortar appearing and Derek once again gave us very honest and professional advice that we didn’t need to do anything as what was happening was normal movement in our type of construction and it was nothing major to worry about. In my opinion Derek has saved us from expensive and unnecessary work being done in our situation, it’s great to meet someone like Derek with such honesty and integrity which is rare today’s world.
