As first time customers we were delighted with the treatment provided for our anxious whippet who needed a scale and teeth clean. The vet listened to our concerns that he should only have light sedation because he had reacted badly post anaesthetic in the past. They allowed us to stay with him until he was completely relaxed with the sedation and the whole procedure was all over in an hour. His teeth and gums haven't looked so good since he was a pup. We were also impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the vet nurses and staff.
Thankyou Stavroula.

I would like to thank Dr Ann and the team for the fantastic job they have done in treating my cat Chai who has stage 3 kidney disease. The treatment included a combination of a nutritional diet, Chinese herbs and acupuncture. The cost of the treatment was very reasonable and affordable compared to standard vet treatments and a lot more effective. East West Vets sets a great example of the power and effectiveness of holistic medicine and natural therapies for pets.

The best holistic vet, well also the only one I know of on this side of town. Wonderful complimentary care from the vet using traditional Chinese therapy (herbs & acupuncture), with other practitioners using osteopathy, kinesiology etc as well as complete veterinary care. Pricing is very reasonable as well.

Dr. Ann and the team at East West Vets have been absolutely fantastic in performing surgery on my cat George, all the post-surgical care and advice on his general health. These are really lovely people- I couldn't be happier with everything they did.

This is our experience with East West Vet. My partner wrote this review and I’m making sure everyone knows how our dog was treated under their care. I’d highly recommend you read other reviews and take consideration as to whether you choose this vet or not.

I have been taking my two dogs to Ann for nearly 5 years and my last experience with her is why I'm leaving one star and have found an alternative vet. My dog was healthy then ate we believe rat poison and declined quickly. After taking her to Ann there was little to no sense of urgency and she never even mentioned ratsak, she felt it was something more unusual. She was "too busy" to even properly check on my dog throughout the day in observation and told us so when we came back to collect her. She also told us that she didn't think she even was taken out to the toilet that's how busy they were, she was there for 7 hours. Less than 5 hours later she was dying. Ended up at the AEC emergency vet to save her life. On the 24 hr after discharge consult with Ann we were met with an arrogant attitude from her. She became offended when we asked questions about what happened and what would be the next treatment. She didn't even look over my dog when we came in and started to belittle the work of the emergency vets. We had to ask for a blood test! She didn't even read the discharge notes and said "I skimmed them, it was quite large". You will always leave this clinic with more questions than answers and heaven forbid you have an emergency with your healthy pet. I would not recommend this as an everyday vet now that there are no other vets at her practice the whole place has gone down hill. The clinic is dirty and the front reception staff are not experienced enough and always need to refer to Ann for anything. She left the consult door open to get us out quickly and rudely announced that she had to go "because I have three VERY sick dogs to attend to" implying that my dog was not as sick and was wasting her time. We felt after trusting her with out dogs for years she would be more empathetic or proactive about what happened but said to us that she "wouldn't hate us for going to another vet". Unfortunately no embellishments in this review. The quotes are word for word from Ann herself.

Easygoing friendly and professional. Have been honest about optionals and informative whenever I’ve had questions. Fee schedule is also very reasonable. Will continue to take my dogs here

Was very unhappy with the service provided here during the COVID-19 lockdown. It was pretty poor.

What a great clinic! My cat had intestinal issues (getting treated with antibiotics from another vet). Side effect of antibiotics was uncontrollable diarrhea. Ann provided 4 different supliments and they working amazingly. Life changing. Frankie (the cat) had no more diarrhea and her stool was normal again.
Would thoroughly recommend and have been back even tho they are a 50 min drive from my house because they are that good!

Rudest staff I have come across! Rude, abrupt & not helpful at all. Will never deal with them again. Appalling!

Great vet clinic. Always busy but everyone in there will do their best for your pet. Even my not-so-friendly tuxedo boy. Love that it's an integrative clinic. More options for healing.

We wanted a holistic approach to our dogs as we didn’t want to over medicate them. Our Bichon did have noticeable issues. We got the impression that they just got bored with his treatment. WE would be the ones researching and asking about things that came up, they were not the least bit proactive. For example they never once brought up a yeast issue even though it was obvious and only responded once prompted about it by us. Did not seem all that interesting in examining his body, his skin or talking about anything in detail. One time we had Ann, who kept calling our Bichon a poodle, and kept calling him a her (if a vet cannot see the difference, that is a concern). We were told at one stage to “stop bringing him in” when we didn’t feel his issues were properly diagnosed or resolved. Most disappointed because we wanted this place to be better.

Always thankful for the care and professional advice. Love that the clinic will go that extra mile for your pet. The alternative medicine and therapies should always be explored.

This was one of worst vet experiences I have ever had. Perhaps covid protocols have impacted their practice, but we’ve seen other vets during covid without these issues. Appalling communication, and just plain rude. Offended by questions, unwilling to have a discussion and rushing us out the door (claiming covid as the reason we were rushed out and that they would finish the conversation by phone, but haven’t called). We chose to take our pet to see them as they market themselves as supporting a raw diet. But clearly it was a mistake and we won’t be going back.

Also utterly unprofessional to be open while incredibly loud renovations are happening. It was traumatic for my human ears, what about the poor animals with much more sensitive hearing? There is no excuse for submitting frightened animals to that level of noise and chaos. The building certainly needed renovations, but a well established business should be able to manage their finances and business in a way that does not traumatize the animals who It is supposedly their business to help.

I am happy with the treatment my dog is receiving and I think it's great that there is a vet clinic that practices eastern and western medicine together.

But the administrative procedures are lacking, I usually have to email or call at least 3 times before I receive any consultation notes or invoices for insurance purposes.

ANN NEVILL FROM EAST WEST VETS HANDED ME A SHARP PAIR OF SCISSORS AND ASKED ME TO POINT TO MY DOGS EYE! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS GO ELSEWHERE! After reading all the reviews I booked my dog in so they could help with her allergy problem. However after waiting 30 minutes my dog was punched in the eye by a cat in their waiting room, her eye turned opaque. I notified the front desk and asked that they attend to her immediately. Ann Nevill refused stating she was too busy. I demanded they see her so she wouldn't turn blind and after 10 minutes they agreed. I was asked to come into a side room and informed by the nurse that they are not liable for this incident. Cleary the nurse was coached by Ann Nevill, I was shocked as it hadn't even crossed my mind my concern was for my pet. While examining her Ann was present with a nurse, Anne Nevill looked through a huge magnifying glass claiming she cannot see any opaque dot in my dogs eye, she used a hand held magnifying glass too, then put her glasses on and still claimed she couldn't see anything wrong. She then asked me to draw the dot on a piece of paper, yet claiming she still couldn't see it. I asked the nurse can you see it? "Yes" the nurse replied the nurse even told Ann its visible to the human eye. I could see the damage and so could the nurse but it took me a while to realise Ann Nevill had no intention of admitting to the damage that was done in her clinic. She then put a pair of scissors in my hand and asked me to point to my dogs eye so she could see the opaque dot. I refused saying I wouldn't point with a pair of scissors her response was they are not sharp! Indeed they were sharp! ANN NEVILL CARES ABOUT PROFIT FIRST AND CLEARLY CANNOT THINK UNDER PRESSURE YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF ANN NEVILL MY DOG IS NOW BLIND IN ONE EYE YOU HAVE A DUTY OF CARE, YOUR TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! I am amazed people give her good reviews STAY AWAY IS MY ADVICE!
