East Malvern RSL Club & Bistro reviews
24Excellent menu and meals. Love the fish n chips. All meals have been enjoyable. Love Thursday night raffle.
I am disappointed when reading some of the reviews
We have attended on a number of occasions with a group of 10 neighborhood friends and always enjoyed the evening
This is an RSL club and has far more meaning than the local cafe or restaurant and does give a value for money service. The welcome and staff are always pleasant and we all feel good about supporting the RSL and what it stands for
Enjoy

I was there this Sunday for lunch with friends. We all enjoyed our time there. Must say the food was wonderful.
Great local spot - super staff. Needs to be supported to survive and thrive. Get on down there people! Especialy the Fridsy night raffles.
Great 'old-school' club atmosphere, good drink prices, good meals, good parking (on a weekday) and a lovely outlook over the parklands. No pokies, nice!
The function room was the perfect venue for a family gathering. Good bar, food and dance floor and parking Hard to find good places like this so keep it in mind if you need a great venue.
Visited for a club meeting. First impression was this would be a 3-starer, and it was, decor is a bit dated and just overall feels quiet. The evening was enjoyable however with very friendly staff, and the meals were very nice, earning the East Malvern RSL an extra. Well done guys. People in the area should support this place so that hopefully it can liven up
Firstly, there is nowhere to scan your membership cards to accumulate points to your membership, either for your entry or for your meals and drinks. Secondly, I had the chicken parmigiana which was over cooked and the cheese on top was starting to burn. The salad was drowning in dressing (way too much dressing). Thirdly, I was standing at the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes.
East Malvern RSL a local Returned Sericeman and Womens Leagues Club set near the East Malvern Golf Course and Sports areas has a great aspect looking across the area with friendly service great food and drinks at RSL prices and Luve Music either Saturday or Sundays.
Plenty of parking and beautiful reserve at the front. There’s also a nice shaded fenced playground with various relatively new facilities for toddlers and older kids.
Always a good place for a drink, a bet and a meal, also has very good Sunday afternoon entertainment
Great service, delicious food and a relaxed friendly vibe. Disabled acess was hampered by the lift being out of order.
A last bastion for old style pubs where the smell of chips and cheap beer take me back to a time where the publican would only serve me a lemon squash. The smooth fm tunes of Richard Wilkins cap this place off nicely.
Ive been to their main lounge/dance room many times before, but this time I had the pleasure of attending a private function (with band) in a seperate party room. Loved it!
Waitress grumpy, got our order wrong, food average, then I got sick. Bread was great, but aforementioned waitress was not happy to cut it and share it. Not going back.
Am a member of rsl and was charged 13.20 for 2 schooners of draught and so was my friend, we had one round and left. What is the point of being a member when you get charged above the odds, will not be back
Club was ok, but looked like it needed a bit of attention. Bar staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Also went there on ANZAC Day for a couple drinks to remember the boys & girls who served and to celebrate my service, but they didn’t have Stones. Are you serious? An RSL without Stones!? That’s not good enough.
Had a dinner meal yesterday 18th of Jan 2018, excellent, friendly staff went over board to ensure my gluten free guest was looked after.
So nice to have a quiet meal and chat without the carry on that comes with bars and bazars. Yes I am an RSL member and whilst the club is family friendly I do not support the story of the slighted family with free range children. My grandchildren have lunched in the bistro and will continue to do so.
We usually go over to the park after lunch, wonderful way to blow of steam, if this is not for you go to Macs.or Zagarmies
Food was reasonable, price of meals were on a par with other RSL's. Building will be updated in the near future, definitely the decor is in need. Plenty of parking and a lot shaded by trees.
