East Elevation reviews
27We booked a venue tour for our wedding that was confirmed, made the 50 minute drive to see the venue only for no one to be there. I wouldn’t recommend having a special event (such as your wedding) at a venue that can’t even show up for a site inspection.
As a wedding photographer - this is one of my favourite cafes to photograph at. It's the perfect spot to hold a small, intimate, authentic wedding. The food is great & the space is quintessentially Melbourne with the high ceilings & exposed brick walls.
My favourite café in Melbourne. Miss living right near here. The only overpriced café that makes you think 'Well okay I can see why it's priced like that'
This place does seriously good food and hot chocolate. Everyone on the table loved their food; however, my favourtie dish (black pudding) has been taken off the menu.gutted!
Atmosphere is really lovely. Love their decoration, like a green house. Love the green plants. Coffee taste normal. Chai taste also ok.
Great chocolates and tasty food, but a bit overpriced. Maybe because you are in hipster central. But if you walk around the area you will find cheaper options and same or better quality tasty food. However, I also have to say that staff always offer a really good service.
Lovely and friendly Barista and Staff. I ordered take away Peanut Butter Mocha.was not on the menu but James, the barista made one for me anyways. It was interesting. I liked it but my husband was not a fan. Anyway, it was a good experiment. The cafe is in the grey concrete building with red door. Good coffee and the environment is so lovely! Good to sit down relaxing chat with friends or business meeting. Or even work place to think and get creative.
Amazing food? Check. Amazing ambience? Check. Amazing service? CHECK YET AGAIN.
FOOD & DRINKS: For food, we ordered the King Swiss Mushrooms and also the award winning Croque Monsieur and I can safely say it is the BEST sandwich I have ever had in my entire life! So in case you didn’t know a lot of East Elevation’s food is HOME GROWN from their own garden or it is sourced from the very best. The King Swiss Mushrooms are their own home grown mushrooms and you can definitely taste the freshness and a special little ingredient called LOVE. The dish was done so carefully and meticulously that when you eat it, you cant help but appreciate how perfectly done it was. From the seasoning to the spinach to the bread, the dish was done so simple but executed so excellently. The croque monsieur.it doesn’t need an introduction but I will never stop praising it! It is award winning for a reason and it truly is made with the very best of ingredients and even though it is $25, the portion and ingredients are so fresh and delicious! For drinks, I ordered the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate and my.it was life changing. I have never had a more beautiful and well executed hot chocolate. The presentation and taste was phenomenal and you can definitely feel every single ounce of love poured into that cup.
SERVICE: Superb! Every single staff member didn’t fail to make you feel welcome and well attended to:)
Overall, East Elevation is a cafe that takes pride in being different through their QUALITY. A cafe can introduce new concepts but a cafe can also execute excellently and I will definitely vouch for both when it comes to East Elevation. It definitely has won a spot in my heart for one of the best cafes in Melbourne and I will definitely be returning <3
In the last month I have attended a wonderful private event at East Elevation and popped in for a hot chocolate. It's a lovely space and gorgeous for evening events - and the hot chocolate was out of this world.
Had brunch today with a friend. Was sat down but waited 20 mins before anyone came over to serve us. Waitress was cold and rude, made a mistake with our order and didn't fix it the way we were hoping, dumping the coffee onto the table when she returned. Dirty dishes and cutlery. We thanked her at the end very nicely but again she didn't converse in a friendly way. Unfortunately we won't be returning anytime soon.
Ambience and food are great however service was underwhelming - no smiles, vague descriptions, our food arrived after others who had come in after us, our coffees were sloshed down in front of us and cutlery abruptly thrown into the tin on the table when we asked for spoons. We felt unwelcome and a burden. I really wanted to like this place!
Food is amazing, staff were friendly, good tunes and most importantly the toilets were super clean and tidy. Highly recommend East Elevation not only to Melbourne residents but also encourage anyone from interstate to visit.
Amazing food, great vibe. Good for groups. Service friendly and efficient. Try corned beef hash. Hot choc a winner.
Looove the house blend chocolate and mushroom! Staff are sweet too! But Am I the only one who don't know the red door is the entrance at first
The food and coffee here are excellent, I go regularly and always have a great meal.
The service is good, sometimes your experience comes with a side of attitude from staff.
The space is also really lovely, with lots of plants and light.
The staff were excessively pushy in trying to get us off the table. I appreciate that these are businesses that need to turnover their tables - but we spent over $120 between the 4 of us on a Saturday morning - you would expect them to allow us to sit around and at least have a conversation over our meals. I felt like I was at a cheap dumpling shop on Lt Bourke - they had no shame in being seriously pushy! The food was ok, coffee is good.
Great coffee and food, though menu doesn’t have enough vegetarian or vegan options really. Not enough room between tables.
The coffee was terrible today I threw it out. The soy is not good and was very watery. Stafd are not friendly.
We had the gluten free chocolate brownie made with almonds which was "the best brownie I've ever had" - the girlfriend. Coffee was pretty great, very light on the acidic profile
Good service. Happy to tip. Great menu, we had the sardines and the vegetarian bean dish. Also they sell (amongst other delights) dark chocolate robots instead of chocolate frogs. The short wait for a table was sweet and easy. Going back.
