Dunkeld Visitor Information Centre reviews
18Great resource. The lady in there was very knowledgeable about the area and surrounds and was super helpful.
For anyone on the road: there's public hot shower in the toilet block next to the information centre.
Thank you for keeping them clean:)
We visited this charming little Victorian town on 21/09/2022. We dropped in to the Information Centre conveniently located in the centre of the town. The person there was friendly, knowledgable and informative. Based on her advice, we had a most enjoyable day exploring this historic town. The Centre itself, was well presented and had useful information about the town and district. Well worth a visit.
Outdoor public toilets seemed clean enough but there was no toilets paper in any stall or dudabled either. So that wasn't great, otherwise normal usable toilets that aren't long drops.
Can't fault this as an info place. Lots of printed information and a very friendly, helpful woman at the desk. Knew what she was talking about, having lived here for many years. Was prepared to give us all the time we wanted. Excellent start to our Dunkeld break.
We arrive to the Information centre at Dunkeld 1/7/21, The Lady we met was very helpful and friendly. Such a delightful person We are interested to return
Lady at information centre very helpful. Thanks to her we saw what we wanted to see easily and drove back to Hamilton via Cavendish without having to go back the way we went.
A small office but the lady there was quite friendly. She offered us a few options that we can try to explore within limited time. Not bad.
Used the public toilets and I was shocked how clean they were and real toilet paper. Recommend!
The volunteer working there gave us the best insiders' recommendations! If not for him, we definitely would have missed out on some great views.
Really clean public toilets too, by the way!
If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would do that without any second thoughts. Super friendly guys with loads of information about the area. Super helpful. If you are planning to buy stuffs, please take money with you.
Wonderful place to visit. Run by volunteers, you couldn't get better service and attention. Make a call in Spring when the wild flowers are in bloom. They have a magic garden around the side and at the back. You won't see better in the wild.
We didn’t actually go inside but used the public toilets. The native garden surrounding the building is gorgeous and well worth a visit.
Great place that is run by volunteers. We broke down with our car and the lady helped us getting back on our legs. Public toilets are available. It is a recommend stop before heading up to Halls Gap.
Great information-booklets available for the Grampians! I stopped here to get an idea about the main spots at the Grampians and found all the relevant information!
The welcoming staff will help you as you browse the usual array of brochures, pamphlets and locally made gifts.
There's a nice garden top relax in out the back.
Don't miss the view of mountains out the window.
Very nice showers and toilets - free!
Shade, bins, parking, cafes and local shops nearby.
Take time to explore the local area while you're here.
I encountered an exceptionally helpful staff member who provided travel advice and gave some recommendations for local cafes/ bakery. I was impressed by the good facilities for travellers including free showers, free maps and wifi. There was a stunning view of Mt Abrupt from the Dunkeld VIC. It is conveniently located in the main street and across from the local memorial park.
Call in when you're in the district.
