Dr Sunil Datta

I have been attending here for the last 4 years or so. The doctor is great, the receptionist and the price gouging is not.

I am a pensioner. I simply cannot afford $300 for a 15 minute appointment. I was charged for a 30+ minute appointment and when I said the price has gone up, the receptionist had the audacity to tell me it was always that price.

Despite my mental health being in the pits, I have chosen to withdraw from.this service. These prices keep going up. Ordinary people cannot afford them. POOR people have no chance. I have to choose between maintaining my mental health or maintaining my physical health.

If you're desperate, go here. If you're not, find somewhere better that won't price gouge and lie to your face about it.

Anyone with customer service experience, would understand that there are challenging days and have to accept or apologise for any service lapses on behalf of the organization they represent and those conversations would not be pleasant sometimes.

Having said that I had the displeasure of experiencing the most courageous receptionist who was justifying a series of lapses (incorrect appointment dates, duplicated charges to my account) made by this consultation room. This lady was bold, confident and amazingly courageous to explain and justify all the chaos that they have made and even going to the extend telling me to follow up going forward and even saying it's the customers responsibility to check these matters.

I have no more words to explain my experience with this clinic. Utterly disappointed and disgusted with the attitude towards customers and the whole aspect of customer service.

ADVICE: IF THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION YOU HAVE THEN GO FOR IT,

IF NOT DONT EVEN THINK OF DEALING WITH THIS CONSULTATION ROOM.

Cancelled my appointment because the receptionist was passive aggressive and wouldn't specify whether the appointment would be over zoom or not. Not about to drop $500+ for that level of service. If you're dealing with people experiencing mental health problems you should probably work on your delivery, Karen.

I actually had a good time at the psychiatrist and felt a lot more comfortable than I would have expected.

Then for WEEKS both my GP and myself were following up the report as I was told to change medications and stop what I was taking. Nobody sent through the report and after a month of chasing it, the receptionist said they "don't just send them and they need to be requested and there is no evidence this has been requested".

The fact that I am now not taking any medication to help my illness and have no idea what to be taking, that's the opposite of what I would have expected from my psychiatrist. Won't be coming back.

I would definitely NOT recommend this clinic!

I have been treated unfairly, spoken to rudely, yelled at over the phone and caused a panic episode by one of their receptionists who refused to provide me with her name. The first person was nice, but then a rude, abrupt Indian lady came on the phone and was absolutely appalling in her behaviour. She showed no professionalism, empathy or respect and understanding to my situation.

I am utterly disgusted in this clinic and the way that I have been alienated by them, I have waited four months for an appointment to be told I am no longer welcome here after becoming fed up with the run around by your reception staff. I was told twice that there was a six week wait if I wanted to see a certain psychiatrist, and then got told on a third occasion that they did not have my referral, which I know was not the case as the first two women had no issues locating it. On another occasion I was then told that his book was closed and I would need to resend my referral and choose another doctor. I have now been told after four months of waiting I am not getting an appointment and my Doctors clinic have been called and notified of this. I am truly disgusted by how your staff have gone about rectifying their mistake.

As someone suffering from chronic mental illness this is absolutely unacceptable! I believe the job of this staff member and all other staff members at this clinic is to accommodate the patients needs and make us feel at ease with your services, from day one this has not been met.

By far the worst experience with the medical profession I have ever encountered!

I have been going to Dr datta since 2014 as he was recommended by my psychologist at the time. Last time I saw him was in 2016 and have been on the same medication as prescribed by him. I recently missed one appointment because of a family emergency and when I rang to inform them to make another appointment I got told very rudely by the receptionist who I could barely understand (def needs some English lessons) that dr Sunil datta doesn’t wanna see me at all. I have been advised recently by few local doctors that the medication that he put me on maybe causing some health issues and I wasn’t told at the time when he prescribed the medication and I should look into changing it to a different one. I don’t understand how’s that even fair as he has all my history and put me on a medication without telling me the side affects. Worst customer service and will never recommend anyone.

DONOT DEAL WITH THIS RECEPTIONIST
I had left an email over a week AGO FOR A SIMPLE CONSULTATION FOR MY SON I was greeted with a very irate woman speaking with possibly an Indian accent who refused to make an appointment for son when questioned about her clinical position I became aware she was the receptionist for the physch offices and was then told we can’t help you
As the conversation progressed you can imagine any customer would become rather upset she then hung up on me I then called back to which I was told to hang on a minute she then put me on speaker phone so everyone in the office could have a laugh at me. I was horrified as this is for a physch appointment she then told me not to bother sending in my referral for my son as it would be disregarded, I was quite happy to wait until October for an appointment as I was initially told there was nothing at all until then even though there are 6 physchs there and all I needed was a quick review for my sons army application. I have never been so humiliated by a secratry in my life! Do not speak to this woman if you have any kind of mental health issues she left me feeling absoloutly disgusted and makes fun of with her colleagues I m not sure about the doctors there but the office staff needs a good look at! Absoloutly disgraceful for a medical receptionist on this experience I would not recommend this clinic to anyone as the staff seem to find it hilarious to get someone in such an agitated state to make a simple booking!

Dr datta is a gift from god, he has helped me so much, he is the most caring person who really cares about his patients, I can not thank him enough, His staff at the front desk are amazing and very understanding thank you so much

I went to dr Sunil Datta as I was referred for treatment. He was terrible, the appointment was more like an interrogation of questions. He only wanted to write a report which was not asked of him. I’m guessing to charge to the military thousands. I asked about medication and he said you seem to be doing ok. This mind you was after only 3 questions. Rude and I felt like I was waisting my time trying to talk to him and he said ok you can leave I’ll do the report of the paperwork provided. Definitely do not recommend such a incompassionate and unprofessional Psychiatrist.

Dr. Datta has helped me through the most difficult times of my life, i don't know where i would be without him. A very nice caring person and i highly recommended him.
