Dr Sujit Sharma (Specialist Psychiatrist)

I've seen psychiatrists all my life and Dr Sharma is by far the best. So empathetic and compassionate, he shows full commitment to the conversation and discussion, he offers many options for treatment and he encourages me to be part of the decision making. He is such a pleasure to deal with. I am blown away by how committed he is, he is rarely late to an appointment, and all prescriptions or letters are sent to me immediately after a consultation. Nothing is ever forgotten.

Dr Sharma has saved me many times over, I don't know where I would be now without his help. Thank you for everything Dr Sharma.

Also a comment to Subani, the most reliable and punctual medical receptionist that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The whole team cannot be faulted, thank you all so much for everything!

Sent referral months and months ago. Called 3 times to follow up and I haven't been booked in for an appointment at all. They say they will call and never do. Not good enough

Had a referral sent through from my doctor, waited more than 2 months and hadn't heard anything. Contacted them, asked about the status of my referral and was told they had received it by fax but needed it to be emailed through. Ridiculous enough already, but I had my doctor email it to them, waited another month and still no word. Contacted them again to check on it and was told the referral had been rejected with no reason cited as to why. No one had contacted me to let me know. With wait times at psychiatrists across the board being very long at the moment I was really disappointed to have had 3 months+ wasted without an answer as to why they didn't take me on.

Very poor communication. Very little empathy. Zero follow-up. I understand psychiatrists are busy at the moment but this just wasn't good enough.

What a kind, compassionate and empathetic man Dr Sharma is. I appreciate his listening, understanding and diligence going through everything in detail that needed to be discussed. Would not hesitate to visit Dr Sharma again if the need arises. Also Subani, you went above and beyond to organise an appointment considering the time restraints and urgency of the matter, your kind approach was also very appreciated, thank you both so much.

Dr Sharma is the second psychiatrist I've seen since receiving my ADHD diagnosis. He's compassionate, personable and attentive. I always come out of my appointments feeling hopeful and heard.

When I arrived at Dr Sharma's suites I was mis-diagnosed and overly medicated, practically a zombie. Over the past 18 months Dr Sharma and I have brought *my* meds back to an acceptable level. ZERO.
Not to forget Subani either, in her own little way she too has had an effect with me.
I can't express fully how much I appreciate and value being introduced to this dynamic duo, I am sure though I would still be in that induced rut I couldn't escape.

Deciding to see Dr. Sharma is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made. He is an extremely talented psychiatrist who is friendly, empathetic and patient.

Dr. Sharma has helped me immensely, I would hate to think where I would have been without him. He got me on the right medication and built a team of health professionals around me to treat me in an holistic manner. I have not been in a better frame of mind since I was a very young child, and that’s more years ago than I care to remember!

Working in the mental health field myself, I knew how important it was to see a professional, empathetic practitioner who was respected in their specialised field. I could have easily gone to see a number of 'dial-a-psychiatrists' who would have diagnosed me in 15 minutes and drugged me to the eyeballs. Not Dr Sharma.

The whole reason I wanted to wait for availability with Dr Sharma was because I knew he wouldn't just diagnose after a brief conversation. Dr Sharma took his time to conduct a thorough diagnosis, taking his time in conversation, looking back on my old school reports from the 80's and 90's and even making a telephone call to my Mum (in her 70's) to learn more about my behaviour and life as a child. Now THAT is what one should expect from only the best.

On top of that, Dr Sharma was warm, caring, considerate, patient, professional and, helped me get my life back by the validation that what I was experiencing was not just normal behaviour, on top of that, pretty bad anxiety. It is such a relief to have that missing piece of the puzzle make so many things from my life make sense, and I am grateful to Dr Sharma for his wisdom, thorough professional approach and kindness.

I've only just started my journey with Dr Sharma but I am so very happy that I have.

Said I wasn’t happy with the outcome of our first consultation because we didn’t get to fit everything in & I was told to just stay on the same medication which obviously wasn’t working.
Rang to book a follow up to discuss further face to face as my gp suggested to get my adhd under control instead of starting with a new psychiatrist who knew nothing about me. Was refused and told to see a different psychiatrist.no compassion for the mentally ill or disabled, just worried about $$$

Dr Sharma is very caring and relatable to both patients and their family. As a parent to a young adult under his care I would recommend him without hesitation.

Dr Sharma is Super friendly, kind, understanding, considerate. Listens with intent. Provides a great service. Goes way beyond his status to help you out. Researches all possibilities, even if it means doing something out of his scope of duties.

I have been suffering major depression and anxiety for nearly 20 years now and have put on so many different types of medication and had been to see so many different doctors and psychologists and nothing was working. With in three visits to see Dr. Sharma he had my medication worked out and I started feeling better about things. I would strongly recommend Dr. Sharma with no hesitation.
