Dr Jeremy Banky reviews
35I have been seeing Dr Banky for over 10 years for skin cancer checks. He is polite, caring and always makes me feel at ease. He has excised numerous skin cancers for me over the years and I have always been happy with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr Banky to anyone wanting to see a dermatologist.
Honestly, my experience with Dr. Jeremy has been disappointing. I've found him to be one of the least effective skin specialists I've encountered. None of the medications he recommended have yielded any positive results, and the steep charge of over $400 for a mere 4-minute session seems exorbitant. I'm skeptical about his qualifications, as I doubt he has undergone proper education at a reputable university for studying skin medication.
Brief consults, no compassion whatsoever. I am no better off following my appointment than I was before it. Sure he seemed to know his stuff, but made little effort to explain anything to me. Still waiting on my referral 2 weeks later, not sure of future processes or potential treatments regarding my skin because he didn't bother to talk through any of it with me.
I was a patient of his from 2017-2019 with teenage cystic acne, i was put on roaccutane which did clear up my skin however the doctor never stressed the importance of sunscreen or gave me education on any skincare i should have been doing at the same time.on top of this, i complained about migraines while on accutance (a dangerous side effect) and Dr Banky’s response was “maybe take more panadol”, my GP was horrified when hearing this.i am 23 now with a permanently damaged skin barrier and now have to get laser treatments which will cost me thousands of more dollars.mind you, every appointment with dr banky was $300+ for a 2 minute consult and him writing a new script for the medication to begin with.
I’m not going back to this clinic that’s for sure.
Charged me $300 just to see him and then prescribed another medication for $600…
1 month later nothing changed.
Just a scam!
Can I give 0 stars? A terrible experience and a consultation that I left devastated and crying afterwards. This should not be the case when you seek help and pay an insanely amount of money.
First appointment with Dr. Banky, he kept me waiting for 30 minutes to just take 10 minutes of time for me.
As a dermatalogist you should be aware which reasons can possibly result in skin rashes even if it's for example related to gut issues.
He diagnosed me with exzema, it is what it is, and suggested to only wear cotton and to not have too hot showers. The solution for issues that affect my entire (social) life, instead of trying to find the root cause of my problems? I don't have exzema for sure and I left the clinic with the same knowledge than I had before, just less in my pocket.
Now working with a naturopath and my rashes are pretty much gone. Guys, look at your health holistically!
Can NOT recommend.
First visit hasn’t live up to expectations. The doctor didn''t make the appointment, the clinic was closed, after I took time from work to get there. When I finally managed to get through to the front of house later in the day, the front desk was rude and instead of being apologetic, turned the problem back to me that they didn’t have my contact to cancel the appointment. This review is not about the doctor - yet to see him but the services that they provide.
I have been going here now for over 5 years 6 monthly check ups.
Jeremy is an extremely knowledgeable professional. I have been to quite a few in my time but I feel very comfortable and safe here. I have had several surgeries and I think he would make more as a plastic surgeon as i cant even see the scars on my face. I recommend him to all my friends and the fees are no more then any other. Staff are caring and helpful.
Not recommended. Best to find a real dermatologist that cares about your skin issues. Gave the wrong diagnostic to my husband while he charged $250 for incorrect advice. We found a better one in Armadale that actions everything during the same appointment for the same fee.
Really friendly, helpful staff on reception. Jeremy was extremely helpful, really listened to the problems I was having with my skin. Highly recommend
Dr Banky was amazing. He is professional, competent and was extremely patient and caring. Staff are outstanding and extremely accomodating. Highly recommend. Wouldn’t trust anyone else!
Yikes do not go here, massive waste of money. Gave me the wrong diagnosis and bad advice, did the same to my partner too. Go anywhere but here
Dec 2019 I went to see Dr Banky knowing what I wanted. After being discouraged by various GPs from taking Roaccutane/Accutane/Oratane/Isotretinoin, e.g. GPs said to me "It (your acne) really isn't that bad", "accutane will give you uncomfortably dry lips and eyes", and, while prescribing me yet another round of antibiotics for painful and disfiguring infected blemishes, "accutane will give you an infected liver", I persevered and got a referral to this dermatologist.
The actual appointment with this doctor only lasted 5 minutes max I think.
I took the prescription daily for just over six months. The only side effect I experienced was dry eyes which was manageable with eye drops and infinitely less uncomfortable than the acne. It has now been just over one year since I completed the prescription course.
Taking this prescription completely changed my life and is the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm upset I was discouraged by doctors from taking it and brainwashed into believing I didn't need it for so many years.
Not sure if this doctor would have suggested I take this prescription had I not pressed for it.
I would have liked this doctor to have taken some time to explain what the cause of the acne was and how the medication works to address it.
I had a second skin problem I wanted to mention to the doctor but I didn't get a chance to before he got up and ended the appointment.
I didn’t feel very comfortable or cared about while seeing Jeremy. I was just some patient there in a quite clinical setting.
Waiting for 30 minutes pass the appointment time, 5 minutes inside the consultation room, 3 minutes for him to look at my skin & explained how to apply the cream with printed instructions about the cream that he gonna prescribe me.and $250 out of pocket payment after medicare. Money oriented doctor, what a shame. A rip off. Definitely I’m not going back.
I have now been waiting for over 45minutes for my appointment. The level of organisation is appalling. If you need more time for patients, then set it aside in the book. It is incredibly unprofessional to be this late as a professional.
I'm a bit shocked that there are so many negative reviews here as my experience was great! Staff were lovely, really felt like I was in safe hands here. Dr Banky answered all of my questions, was really friendly and personable. Info to patients is clearly communicated in person and with a sheet to take home to refer to. My appointment was about 30 mins later than I booked but that's pretty normal for most doctors. If you're coming here for something serious e.g. A skin cancer check the bedside manner provided will put you at ease so I think it's definitely worth the money.
Let me start by mentioning this review has nothing to do with Dr Jeremy Banky himself, he was excellent and professional once I had my consult with him 2 months ago where he prescribed me roaccutane. However his receptionist Dani/Nicki or similar sounding who answered my phone call on the 1/11 at 4: 45pm was the rudest, most arrogant person I've spoken to in an extremely long time if ever working for a specialist. I called regarding a question of taking the extremely HARSH drug as I'm experiencing some sever side effects. As I was mid conversation trying to explain to her about the hair loss im experiencing which im sure anyone would be upset/concerned about she quickly and unprofessionally placed me on hold abruptly. Once she came back to the phone she did not let me finish what I was in the middle of saying she simply said "he will be back in on Monday" I then asked if she could please leave a message for him regarding my question.she then extremely arrogantly said well yes thats exactly what im doing, i then explained she hadnt even let me finish what i was saying. She then proceeded to sarcastically mention "yes yes your hairs falling out anything else? " I'm disgusted in the way I was spoken to. This medication is not something you should take lightly. It's extremely harsh on the body and the risks of taking it are extreme, If anything this receptionist working for the specialist should be understanding, kind and willing to listen to the patient when they have a concern and not cut them off and show absolutely disregard for their concern. This has completly put me off ever going back to this dermatologist in which I pay a very high amount to go and see. A receptionist is the first impression of such a business and should always be professional. Disgusting attidue
I saw Justin, he’s amazing. The clinic provides a great service. They are quick, they care and offer great value for money. Absolutely recommend
A very knowledgeable and caring doctor. His bedside manner is excellent. My family and I really trust him.
