Reduced fetal movement awareness would have potentially meant that my baby did not die in Dr Skinners care.

He wasn’t even there at the still-birth of my child. A clear lack of care and understanding.

I had a wonderful pregnancy and journey to motherhood under the care of Guy and Tanya. As a first time mum, I sought a natural birth without intervention, but still with the continuity of care and oversight of an OB incase something should go wrong. I found Guy to be friendly, reassuring, progressive and supportive of my birth preferences, and it made for the most positive and rewarding experience. Birth is epic! Thank you Guy and Tanya!

My baby died at 33 weeks gestation whilst in the 'care' of Dr Skinner. In the week leading up to my baby's passing, I had noticed a reduction in movement but didn't think anything of it as Guy had failed to educate me on the topic.

When I questioned him about this at my 4-week post natal appointment, he stated that there is no evidence to back foetal movement monitoring & its subsequent reduction in stillbirth. I now know this to be a complete lie.

The reality is, this tragedy should never have occurred and Dr Skinner let his ego get in the way of proper care & transparency.

Doctor Guy Skinner is such a great OB being my first pregnancy I was very nervous but he always made me feel relaxed and that everything was going to be ok. He delivered our beautiful healthy girl in December. Throughout the process Tanya the gorgeous midwife I was seeing and Guy made me feel so relaxed, informed and empowered whilst having a great sense of humour in between. Any question was not too hard and each time you need something they are just a phone call away. I highly recommend Guy and his team to any patient that wants a specialised, great and educational experience! The entire team at St Vincents Private in Fitzroy are also amazing, we will be forever grateful. I will miss my appointments!

From the moment I walked into Dr. Guy Skinners office I knew I had found my place of birth. Tanya and the lovely ladies at the desk are incredibly warm and welcoming. Guy was so professional and friendly that I immediately felt like I was in safe hands. I loved how casual yet knowagable he approached everything and is a huge advocate for having a positive birth experience, whatever the outcome may be. I loved every aspect of my pregnancy and birth with Guy and his amazing team, could not recommend them enough.
The aftercare in St. Vincent's was 5 star and the rooms are so beautiful, it felt like staying in a hotel. I walked away from my birth with the most positive and special memories that I will be forever grateful.

My Wife and I have just been blessed with a beautiful baby Boy and after a countless search for an Obstetrician we came across Dr Guy Skinner's name from the very beginning we were greeted by the super friendly and helpful Staff Tanya, Pauline & Jasmine who made us feel comfortable and at ease, Dr Skinner's expertise and knowledge was second to none, each time we had our prenatal visits with him we were well informed on how our little one was progressing, he also managed to include some humour which made the experience worth while and reassuring that we were in the best of hands for the planned Cesarean Section delivery of our baby boy. Guy helped us deliver our first baby. Having some pre-existing health conditions, my wife was extremely nervous about the entire process particularly given an early complication. I have used Guy Skinner and his wonderful team for both my pregnancies. My first pregnancy had no complications physically. I was very anxious throughout however and Guy was able to answer all my questions thoroughly, easing my mind. He has a great sense of humour and yet knows when to be serious. My first labour had complications (placenta) and Guy acted with so much skill to keep me safe. It was very traumatic and he was there to support me afterward emotionally and physically.

My second pregnancy, Guy worked with me to plan ahead to make sure that we minimised the risks for a repeated placenta issue. I was induced last Thursday and it was a very controlled, calm and beautiful labour. A healing experience and one that I’m still so relieved and thrilled about. I have confidently recommended Guy to many of my friends who have also loved him. We have so much gratitude toward Guy as he has looked after our family beautifully.

Dr Skinner & team were extremely professional and caring throughout our pregnancy journey, especially Tanya, she is an absolute gem!

Guy delivered our baby girl earlier this year. Could not recommend him enough. He is clearly so knowledgeable and experienced and we always felt so well looked after. For me he was a fantastic mix of compassionate and professional. When some things went wrong he was both matter of fact and caring. I eventually needed to be induced but I liked his balance of minimal intervention versus risk and throughout I felt very well informed. We used his midwife programme which meant we saw him for some appointments and saw Guy’s midwifes for others. I loved this mix and found Tanya and the rest of the midwifes so knowledgeable and supportive. His post birth care was also great particularly when I needed an urgent prescription.

Guy has delivered all 3 of my babies and I’ve had a wonderful experience each time. He has a friendly bed side manner and made me feel at ease throughout the pregnancy with his great knowledge and experience. I cannot recommend Guy and his lovely team of midwives enough. I was extremely happy with the level of care I received from pregnancy through to delivery/post partum. I chose the mid wife program 3rd time around and Tanya was amazing. If you want the whole package look no further than Guy Skinner and his team.

We had the best experience with dr skinner and have referred him to so many of my friends and family who say the same. He is so friendly and the midwives who work at his clinic are amazing. Especially the gorgeous Tanya. I wouldn’t trust anyone else and couldn’t recommend him more highly.
