Dr Poovalingam was professional and always had time pre and post procedure to answer any queries and ensure I felt at ease. He is very supportive and has gentle and kind demeanour, with impeccable bedside manner.
The staff at the Essendon clinic are extremely helpful and easy to deal with also.
Thank you Dr G, you’ve given me a new lease on life - I’m feeling so much better and only wish I’d had this procedure years ago!

Took the time to explain everything to me even during very busy times I didn't feel rushed or like another number. Very thorough and comprehensive care, listened to me and knows what he's talking about. Very happy!

I’m so grateful my Dr referred me to Dr G. He has been amazing, him and his staff answer all questions and have put me at ease after my surgery. I send random text messages of silly questions and always get a response. At the initial consult he explained everything to me with a lot of information. The hospital stay was amazing and when Dr G came to check up on me you can tell he cared, my surgery was a little complicated and he still stuck to the plan which has given me a better recovery. I highly recommend Dr G and his crew. Not only do they do the job correctly but make you feel comfortable throughout the whole procedure.

Dr. Goplan is an amazing Surgeon, your care and professional medical expertise and knowledge in making sure the surgery performed on my wife was indeed thorough. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, friendly and spends a lot of time explaining the pros and cons with great calmness. He also kept me fully informed before and after the surgery, explaining to me how the procedure went without any hitches. I would certainly recommend him. Keep up the Good work as i am yet to find surgeons with much care and understanding towards a patient.

Dr G is a very skilled, highly competent and extremely thorough surgeon. Dr G has a wonderful bedside manner. Very personable, very approachable and explains everything to you in great detail. He sincerely cares about you as a patient. His follow up is immpecable. I would highly recommend Dr G for gynaecological surgery. Hands down a skilled surgeon but importantly a great human.

Dr Gopalan, you are an amazing surgeon your care and professional medical expertise in making sure that the surgery you preformed on my 88 year old mother being a full hysterectomy was of priority. Dr Gopalan Poovalingam is incredible. Not only has he taken great care of my health, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It's rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient. The quality of medical care is outstanding. Melinda was always kind, caring and helped in all aspects of making the transition to having the surgery a good experience. Highly recommend the practice!

Dr G is absolutely fantastic. He has such a professional and “down-to-earth” manner and explained everything to me with drawn diagrams so I understood. I cannot recommend him enough.
WOW, WOW, WOW - I had hysterectomy surgery at 7pm at night - home the next day (less than 24 hours in hospital). No pain, no anything - (was sent home with some pain-killers but didn’t need any - felt 100%). Practice Manager and staff (Melinda) are also wonderful, and there to assist. Thank you Dr G and your great staff at Essendon.
PS: He is also very cute.
PSS: Western Private Hospital (Footscray) was also excellent - very thorough and efficient.

Sadly, my experience did not resonate with the others shared here. Dr Poovalingam is extremely knowledgeable and thorough at explaining things, however I didn't feel like I was heard during our appointment, and ultimately felt my symptoms were dismissed as IBS. This was distressing, as I've been through a revolving door of doctors and tests over the past 18 months with no answers. Notably, I have a very high health literacy and understanding of the anatomical and physiological principles of the reproductive system, however I felt a lot of the appointment was spent explaining these things to me, rather than allowing me to discuss what I wanted out of the consult. I did call the practice and the reception staff and Dr Poovalingam were very thorough in following up my complaint. My case may be the exception, as others have shared such great things.

Dr G was a wonderful surgeon, I just had surgery few days ago and I never thanked him enough.
I am very glad to know him. He is very kind, warm, gentle and professional.
It is rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming his patient!
And also thanks to Melinda, she is very friendly, lovely lady and helpful during paperwork required for my surgery.
