TRIGGER WARNING
Told me to make this green smoothie that another psychiatrist (“an attractive woman”) makes. At end of the session just casually rolls in “so you’ve got ptsd”. He then gives me a script of 200 lithium tablets (1/2 one a day) and says “promise me you won’t kill yourself with these”. The medication then exacerbated my psoriasis which he also knew about.

Basically said he didn't see suicidal patients and said "if I survived the next few months to come back and make an appointment". I just can't fathom this. One star flatters him.

I was looking for a psychiatrist who would treat my mental health issues holistically and not just prescribe pills. He changed my life.

Absolute quack, would only recommend consulting "Dr" Corcos if you are actually looking to worsen your mental and emotional health, it's hard to believe he is a psychiatrist with his lack of care and useless prescribed treatments.
Truly a disgrace to the psychiatric profession, I also think he needs to be investigated by the proper authorities as he is not a good psychiatrist at all. If only I didn't have to give a star to comment, as this would be a zero star rated review. Avoid this charlatan masquerading as a psychiatrist if you value your mental health.

Firstly if l didn't have to leave a star to comment then there would be no star left. So disregard this one star. Secondly this individual and l call him an individual because there's no way he can be associated with the word professional. He is completely self centred, arrogant and non professional in everyway possible. He refused to listen to anything about the condition at hand. He started saying from the very beginning of the first assessment/appointment that he didnt have to treat the patient if he didnt want too. He was extremely uncaring and showed no empathy at all. Once medication was mentioned he wanted to end the consultation. This person can only be termed as a witch doctor or head hunter. If you want your own life to improve or the life of a loved one then read this review and all the other one star/negative reviews left by other people and believe every written word. He is a total disgrace to the Psychiatric/Medical profession and can only be described as someone who needs the help of someone who practices in the profession that he claims to be an expert in but is clearly failing in. If you hate someone and want to see their condition worsen in mere seconds then this quack is the person to send them too. Personally l think there should be complaints made to the medical authorities about this person. So much more l could say here but seriously this individual just isn't worth the effort or my phone battery life. I'll end this review by saying these two simple words "steer clear".

Psychiatrist review - stated how I am not autistic despite being diagnosed by a whole autistic specialist team during my adolescence. Refused to look at any paperwork I brought in and over talked when I tried to explain matters. Stated in his report that I am on disability for benefits and that I am fully entrenched in the "sick role" and sees that I have no motivation to go to work. Even when NDIS providers have palmed me off to other places due to the severity of my needs. A paragraph detailing my attractiveness / what I am wearing that was inappropriate in comparison to what should actually be said detailing self matinance. Oh, but don't worry a breakfast smoothie should cure everything.

I am beyond livid, it set of a suicidal meltdown.

A joke for sure.

I found Dr Corcous
To be arrogant self righteous, self centered with no compassion or
understanding of my mental health.
There's so much more bad feedback l have on him but it would take
to long to write.l wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. A l only put the star to be able to write the review l give him no stars

Spoken to over the phone like I was a waste of their time. Really didn't need that today thanks pal. Really wouldn't bother with this place.

After a few months under Dr Chris Corcos care, I have found Dr Chris to be extremely thorough with his approach and investigations into my background and mental health. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and he was very transparent about what the treatment process would be.

Where other psychiatrists simply would of prescribed more medication, Dr Chris took a holistic approach, making sure blood tests were done and diet and lifestyle were assessed prior to medicating.

I doubt there would be so many negative reviews if people actually read the full-page disclaimer acknowledging that Dr Chris does not prescribe certain medications like benzodiazapines such as valium or ADHD medications such as Ritalin.

Reception is the reason the rating is only 3 stars.
Dealing with reception is like extracting teeth.
The only timely way to book an appointment is in-person, which isn't possible to do at the moment because of covid-19 and telehealth. Reception doesn't answer the phone, ever. They also don't return voicemails or calls; they book you in and notify you via text message of your appointment date and time.

Omg what a ridiculous owner and reception, they hang up my call because the owner was zero toralent and couldn't hear over the phone and couldn't find my referral, then I was really angry and he hang up my call. When I called back few times then he threated me that he will call police. When my referral mentioned about postnatal drepression. After that I was furious and I didn't bother to call.the receptionist even hang the call because the owner gave instruction. How they even still running the business

He is an Anti-Psychiatrist. If you want to see someone who does the opposite of what a psychiatrist is supposed to do then he’s your man. Otherwise keep well clear of him.

If you are after a quick psychiatrist for a Centrelink-type assessment, or certain types of assessments like workcover etc, Dr Corcos would NOT be for you - you’d need someone who specifies this in their capacity/criteria as a psychiatrist, so it’s important to check this before you attend. In my experience, this psychiatrist is not a “biological” psychiatrist who sits back quickly with good technical skills, and reaches a fast technical assessment - this may or may not be to your liking / needs, but I think it’s important to discern this for yourself before attending.
I found he operates on a model that looks at things organically to make a thorough assessment as to the underlying reasons / why your symptoms have occurred / arisen in the first place before reaching any conclusion.
After my item 291 (referral made by a GP upon my request), I’d possibly be interested in consulting with him at least once in his capacity at NIIM in Hawthorn, or going to another practitioner for this. One thing I have definitely learnt from this experience, is the importance of Vit D, no matter who you are. I didn’t understand this fully myself - yet it’s such an obvious thing I thought I understood but clearly didn’t. Someone else might have just put me straight on medication before checking everything - but then I’m not a doctor and don’t know what would be best in certain types of situations that would require this.
I can’t comment on the negative reviews, only going by my own experience, and trying to help someone else by writing this. I found it difficult myself to get the message of what I needed to do, also with so much information available out there too, from many different and sometimes conflicting sources etc.
As I was wary / cautious and to better equip / educate myself, I also watched the psychiatrist’s vlogs online on mental health before attending etc to have a better understanding of the process (these can be found on YouTube) and what I was going to go through in the assessment which was no where as bad as I thought it would be.
It is quite vulnerable to put yourself at the prospect of someone who could potentially tell you you need medication, or who could give you a wrong diagnosis and could leave you feeling worse / hopeless / sick.
I will admit that I felt quite nervous and vulnerable going to a psychiatrist for the first time properly, plus after reading some of the negative reviews, but decided to try for myself regardless, and how I felt / my personal doubts, sometimes perceived stigma surrounding this etc. I trusted the original GP I had went to see who had recommended this psychiatrist originally, and I’m writing this review for anyone else who may be going through the same motions / experience.
Last comments - I found the female receptionist here quite rude to deal with. It seemed like many people have complained about her, so she seemed to have made some marginal effort to improve behaviour, but it really seemed forced.like not something you really want to do (ie making the effort to be polite and helpful), but given the opportunity to be rude (eg when no one was around - could get away with it), she was (rude). The male receptionist here much better to deal with I found, more kind /compassionate etc.

He is a self confessed narc with complete disregard for people who need to rely on income support. He gives you an all round bad feeling just being near him.

Treatment was great, cannot fault it however people skills non existent, arrogance on another level! Made to feel like another number, i regularly visit my chiro however hadn't for a few months (she was on holidays and i became desperate for treatment), i do high intensity workouts with very heavy weights and i also have a desk job not to mention full time study HOWEVER none of this was discussed when i was given the worst diagnosis i have ever receive from any health professional which led him into my requirement of visiting him 3 times a week. He was very pushy and expected me to work these dates out then and there! Will never go back and honestly this is the reason these practices and people have received a bad name! You Dr Corcos are giving your profession a bad reputation!

My mums been going for quite a few months the psychiatrist is brilliant very caring but pity about the owner/receptionist. Don't bother taking your kids there even though they have a gorgeous fish tank and kids toy/books but don't let that fool you. If your weren't on the edge when you get there you will be when you leave qnd I was just driving my mother to appointment. It's hard enough being a parent these days watching kids every second without someone being on your back and surprise he has no kids.

What a terrible and rude receptionist. Not welcoming at all and unapologetic when he made mistakes in the invoice. No complaint against the doctor though. AVOID IF U CAN!

Absolutely disgusting disregard for patient's. I had to wait over month for my appointment only to be told they couldn't help me. Eventhough they booked they appointment. Dr Singh said he couldn't help, refused to call my previous clinic, mentioned something about 'more money', then took me out to the receptionist before turning his back on me and walking away back in to his office.

Why did you take the booking if you werent able to assist me? Now I'm back to square one and nearly out of my medication. Definitely don't have enough medication to last another month for another appointment.

No wonder so many people with mental illness end up committing suicide when the people supposed to help actually end up making things worse.

You should be ashamed of yourselves!
