Apple said that my screen/phone was so damaged I’d have to get a new one phone completely. Boom replaced the screen and it’s working all good now.

Best place to go for repairs! Great range of cases too. Really friendly, best service and have been back heaps of times.

Good service. Got a new phone battery and some other hardware installed from them.

Battery became loose after about 1 week. Took it back. Fixed within 20 minutes and they replaced my $60 screen protector free of charge.

I find not yelling and getting angry at a stores employees does help as people do tend to make mistakes (in regards to the 1 star reviews on here).

Very good store. Will be back again. 11/5

Oooh yes, you do get a helpful answer. They even saved me $270 aud just by showing the right way of dealing with my cellphone. Thanks guys

Went to Dr Boom to get my screen protctor done and they did an excellent Job and Professional I was very happy and impressed on what they did. Very good service. Will be going there next time I need something done for my phone. Very Happy Would recommend to anybody

Terrible service and my phone broke due to the third party screen they use! - they didn’t offer a refund or repair at all. My $2000 phone is destroyed and won’t turn on.don’t trust these people with your phone.

Bought a screen protector there today. I went to every single phone accessory store in Southland and all they had were UV tempered glass screen protectors. The issue with tempered glass and my phone is it stops my phones fingerprint sensor from working. Dr Boom was the only store that offered a TPU screen protector which is what I was looking for (due to the self healing properties, rubbery butter smooth feeling and allowing the ultrasonic fingerprint reader to still work without issue. Sure you can argue Dr Boom was pricier. However, its a good quality screen protector. Unlike normal screen protectors, it wraps around the phone to the back. So, there's no edges of the screen protector showing inside the case, and collecting further dust. Sure I could have bought the screen protector online and saved myself maybe $20 or so. But I've done that over 10 times and every time i always find lint or some other type of dirt under the screen protector. Which is annoying and costly. So not really saving anything. The guy who served me, I forgot to ask for his name, was a lovely tall caucasian gentleman, who was extremely professional, friendly and did an amazing install. Thank you to him. Ill be coming back when I need a new screen protector.

Charges $500 for screen replacement when others charge $370. Dr Boom used to be good, now just rude and a total a rip off. Go to GSM near JB for better value.

Thanks for the response but this review isn't about feelings, it is about deliberate over charging. Others such as GSM World and Best Repair charge $130 less with a turn around of 45mins.
This is why I have written a review about Poor Value. Not Feelings.

Unless you want to visit them 3 times to fix an issue do not go there.
Greeted with total hostility.
Went to get my screen fixed and upon them fixing it they managed to crack the back of my phone which I had to go back a week later for them to fix. Not to mention the glass they replaced my front screen with was apparently faulty and my phone wouldn't work for 2 weeks until I had to take it back yet again for a 3rd time!
Every single visit. Not one smile.when I asked for a refund they said it wasn't their fault.
Totally not worth the time or money.
Customer service is at an all time low there. Seriously guys lift your game and take responsibility if you mess something up.
Let's hope that was the last time I have to go in.

$6 for 3pk screen protectors from eBay last better, longer and are easier to put on (without bubbles and imperfections) than their $60 screen protectors (which I had put on twice because it was so crooked and it was still crooked and peeling after the second application).

Fantastic service. Friendly and fixed my charging problem at no cost. Thank you so much! Not even apple would do that.

Went in last night to the southland store looking for a glass screen protector for my sister’s phone as I was happy with my purchase from this store for my screen protector a few months ago. It was utterly disappointing to receiving the scathing attack from three staff members for not getting my sister’s crack phone fixed with them, as well as questioned as to which store I had it fixed at.

Considering I had trusted this store with my previous purchase, this act of complete disregard by the three staff members, has left me in no doubt to consider elsewhere for my future phone repairs.

Not ok to charge someone for a $60 screen protector when they know it's going to peel and bubble. The receipt has a disclosure but it's too late after the purchase, staff need to disclose. Not recommended for sales or service.

I wanted a tempered glass screen protector so my phone wouldn't smash right after i spent $270 at samsung getting it fixed. And they suggested a stonger non glass one that was way more expensive (about $56) because "the tempered glass could break" Now my phone dropped out of my pocket while riding my bike, and the screen is cracked under the protector. I cant call them, i can't get my money back, they totally ripped me off.

Think twice before trusting them with your phone. The SIM card tray got stuck in my Samsung phone. They were able to take out the broken SIM card tray quickly and the charge was very reasonable. So I was very happy until I took off all the rubber bands holding the phone together (they told me to keep them on for a little while until the glue dried) to discover that the screen was chipped and cracked in the corner of the phone. Now it will cost a fortune to replace the screen!

My phone which is quite old suddenly went flat (it wouldn't even charge for days) and I hadn't backed up my photos. Jason was able to help me get all of my photos back and get my phone up and running again- great service and good prices. I am so grateful, thank-you!
