My Organisation (The Australian Philatelic Federation) decided to convert an old MS Access database to an on-line web based App. We had tried a number of local developers unsuccessfully and were concerned that the old Access code was going to be too out of date and difficult for a developer to work with. We canvassed a number of potential individuals and companies for quotes but were impressed with the detailed quote provided by Dotsquares. The company has offices in Australia where we are based and we met face-to-face with the Australian team initially which we found very helpful in clarifying our needs.
We opted to deal direct with the Indian-based team for the project.
The Dot-squares development model is very highly structured using a combination of regular video conferences, very detailed documentation where the project is broken down into discrete stages and the provision of a live testing environment allowing detailed feedback from the client. They use user-friendly set of online tools to keep track of all communications and project milestones and progress.

One factor which initially attracted us was that the Dotsquares code is certified to meet international coding standards and is very well documented. The built-in security features were also important to us.
The project proved much more complex that we initially expected but we have now competed Stage 1 to our compete satisfaction. This took around 4 months.
We were highly impressed right through the build with the expertise of the team what developed our site. The website design is very attractive but simple and the user interface is very intuitive with many features which would not have occurred to us but which enhanced the usability of the site.
The Team consists of a number of specialised developers including UI, Database developers, Web set-up team and lead by an overall coordinator. The advantage is we had access to a skill-set which no single developer could have provided. We were in weekly direct contact with the coordinator via video conference and this worked very well to clarify requirement and provide detailed feedback on the various stages of the build.
We found the professionalism of the Dotsquares team outstanding throughout what was at times a difficult project. We particularly appreciated their patience and ability to grasp what we required even when our requirements were not all that well expressed.

There is no doubt in our minds that the Dotsquares development model is a powerful strategy allowing access to a very professional team with varied skills. The communications were excellent, always courteous and the team was willing to go above and beyond if required.

Our business is based in Oxford and this was a startup project on a very small budget. We had a super project manager - Sheetal and team were extremely accommodating and followed their procedures perfectly. One thing I would recommend is that you study the initial "scope" very carefully and ensure you are satisfied that it covers everything you expect and that you spend more time at the initial stages on the design and layout to avoid lots of additional costs at later stages for any look and feel changes as this is then charged and considered out of the original scope.

Manish and his SEO team have also been very professional. Our team has little or no knowledge and experience when it comes to SEO so we really appreciate the time he has taken to explain the process, terminology to us. The team have also been keeping us informed on almost a daily basis on what they are working on each day and follow up with monthly reports which give a very good insight on the SEO progress and site performance. We definitely recommend Team In India for SEO. Shout out for Manish and his team!

Hired these guys for some game development.

First red flag: their "senior" developer with "over 5 years experience" failed to answer basic Unity/Git/software development questions. They assured me their entire team would be there to help him and work on my project together, including tech leads with 18 years experience. So if I hired him I wouldn't just hire him, but their entire team. I was very skeptical but decided to give them a chance.

I had to ask 5 times for them to do their work on feature branches. Then I also had to ask another 5 times for them to submit a PR, and when they finally did submit a PR, it had merge conflicts, amongst many other issues.
End result: I ended the contract with them after they were not able to resolve their merge conflicts. A senior developer should have no issues using Git like these guys have. Also, I have a feeling they don't use version control internally since they always talked about me sending them the code as a.zip and sending it back to me that way. They also told me it was not the case that their developers knew how to use Git.despite it being listed on their resume.
