Door & Gate Automations - Geelong

This is by far one of the best companies I have worked with from the very first call for a quote through the entire process till job completed. The staff have all been very friendly and have done everything they can to help. They also made sure to clarify my understanding of exactly what I was getting and how it would work answering all my questions with reasoning. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Should I ever need another gate they will be the only place I will go!

This is not a company we would recommend working with. Our automated gate motors commenced installation and after they commenced we were informed that our posts were not adequate. I would think this would be picked up at time of quoting. We specifically asked if it would be suitable to keep the existing posts and were told it would be. Once this was done we were locked out of our home. They locked the front gates manually whilst finishing. It was a little confusing as they said we would need to pay first to get the controller. We understood this was part of the condition however we would be onsite to be shown that everything works and make the final payment. After some internal confusion they confirmed the work wasn’t yet complete and sent a tech to open the gates for us. This wasn’t done properly and whilst onsite myself and another contractor couldn’t get out of the property. They sent someone again. In the meantime we had an intruder at the property as the gates now could not be closed. The intruder couldn’t get into the house and instead caused damage externally. The Doors & Gates technician was around the next day to complete the gates. We were told it would be another week and we requested exact time and date so we can be onsite to ensure it worked. They went ahead and completed the work and then wouldn’t let us have the remotes to test the gates nor meet us onsite to show us the gates were operating. They said they would send us a video and we needed to pay or we wouldn’t get the controls. We work with many contractors in Geelong and this is certainly one we would warn you to stay away from.

2x quotes through these guys and had an absolutely terrible experience both times. Their quote estimator gave me several reasons why they couldn’t/wouldn’t do my job and did not offer any solutions. He was dismissive, rude and did not listen to our needs. He openly told me that he “hated my street”. Their quote was unreasonable and did not include the entire job, they told me they could only do part of the works and I would need to organise all of my own other trades. Steer clear of these guys.

Very happy with our cantilever gate build and installation by Door and Gate Automations - Geelong. Wasn't cheap but extremely rugged and well built to last a lifetime, with excellent workmanship right up to the powder-coating to match the fence. Also, Julien, the installer, really knows his business and was very thorough and professional in his workmanship. Definitely worth contacting for a quote if you want and are willing to pay for excellent workmanship.

Terrible service. Won’t work with builders, constructing our fence. Overly expensive. Talks down builders and will not work with them. They only want to do the gate and then walk away. This makes the construction impossible. Really disappointing. But more so, they are limiting their business opportunity. So silly. Steer clear of these guys.
