Was very dissapointed. Some of the lamb pieces and vegetable felt spoiled. We ordered thin noodles with beef but was served flat noodles with lamb.

I ordered six dishes last night, and the steamed fish among them was stale and extremely salty. I raised the issue on the spot, but the middle-aged woman inside didn’t respond at all. It was so bad. I definitely can’t go there.

They served the wrong dish, when I spoke to the waitress, she said yes she knew it was the wrong dish, but would prefer if we kept the wrong dish, what the!?

We have been few times to this restaurant as we were excited to try Uyghur food. Lamb kebab was good but too spicy for us. We also tried their Uyghur dumplings which was good and something different. The drawback was their Polo which there was literally a few small pieces of meat with rice. Considering the price and quality, I give this restaurant 3 stars.

This is a very nice specialty restaurant in every way. The fly in the ointment is too much salt and oil. It is recommended to significantly reduce oil and salt in the future. The dishes are generally too oily and too salty. Will continue to support this one of the few specialty restaurants in Victoria.

很好的一家特色餐厅,各方面都很好。美中不足是放盐和油太多了。建议以后要大幅度的的减少油和盐。这些菜真的普遍太油太咸了。以后会继续支持这家在维多利亚州为数不多的特色餐厅。

Ana (mother) Yurt (Place of Rest and Grazing delicious, healthy meals).
Traditional Uyhuir food, atmosphere. Fun family gatherings.

Very delicious, especially the lamb skewers, it is one of the top authentic lamb skewers in south East Melbourne.
Really tasty food and also their bum is hand made, very big in size, worth the value and money.
Please do not be afraid of the staff working there, they are super friendly!
Also do not get fooled by the entrance (they do need to clean up a bit), you will get a much different feeling when you get inside the restaurant.
Also plenty of parking available, you cannot miss it.

Used to be one of our favorite go to places for the last few years with amazing dishes. Just had a visit after 2 years of not being back. Customer service now was horrible, cashier speaks only Chinese and nochantly said she doesn't understand without trying to communicate w customers. Spoke to us in Chinese expecting us to understand instead. It is frustrating to convey what we needed as we were brush off with the reason she doesn't understand. Hopefully it's a one off thing and will give it another chance to try again the next time.

Service awful. Lamp kidney served with an extremely gross smell. Lamp served raw. This place has changed a lot. Not good anymore.

Not a bad little place, but some menu options don't appeal to the masses. You should be prepared to eat some organs or be limited by the menu.

The upstairs restaurant in the heart of Springvale offers a vast menu of Uyghur cuisine. You cannot go wrong with any of the choices, but the favourites for us are always the epically satisfying Dapanji and the delicious lamb skewers. We always get these and then spread out to try their warming soups, wholesome buns and breads. Fantastic restaurant!

Best restaurant in the whole of Australia, I’d eat the lamb skewers as my last meal. Dine in is better than takeaway, and the noodles #12 is my favourite noodles in Melbourne. SO WORTH IT! I’ve taken friends and family there and they love it too, but not as much as me!
Cannot express how good the food is.

Hey reception, you got one thing to do and you put the wrong order! So speechless, what can you do exactly?
Ordered 3 dishes, 1 is wrong food, 1 tastes bad.
No wonder why the rate is low.

Reviewed in mid 2017: 4 Stars - Always good food! Full of flavor.highly recommended

Reviewed in mid 2021: Food quality + quantity and flavour have dropped dramatically.

Big chicken plate is less than half the size of what it was 4 years ago. Thats 50 % drop in quantity even though the price has gone up by a bit.

Chicken is not succulent like before, flavour of the stew lacked depth and balance. Thankfully the hand pulled noodles are still the best I have ever eaten, even better than the ones in Xinjiang, exceptional texture, bounce and stretch.

Lamb on skewers are chewy- a bit over cooked but mainly due to poor quality meat / improper marinating. Flavour of the seasoning is still spot on - sweet smokey. I used to call these best skewers in Melbourne, but not anymore.

Naan was cold/dry/definitely not freshly baked - waste of money.

Battered-fried eggplant dish was ok - but the egg plant is not crispy like before.

Service was lacklustre - drinking water wasn't served, had to wait a long time for the staff to take our order.

I am sure that the management can look into these issues and improve.

Had the whole lamb as a group. It is about 500 bucks and does not come with any sides. You expect some rice, condiments, salad with the biggest dish anyone can ever order. Lamb was dried at shanks, tenderloin and few other places; not evenly cooked. We finished 7 people without a problem. It is fun experience but would probably not go back. Apparently smaller dishes in this restaurant are much better, so this review is for whole lamb only. Cleanliness, availability of napkins, cutlery, getting salt and pepper etc a bit of challenge. So basics need to improve.

Probably one of the best spicy lamb skewers around! Cooked on charcoal the lamb skewers are juicy, sweet, smokey, and we seasoned! These are mouth watering!
they also make real good handmade noodles too! Definitely try them out!

they are a cash only - they used to take card but not sure what happened

it is located upstairs, only stairs available, which means they do not facilitate well for those who are physically handicapped
