Doctors of South Melbourne - GP in South Melbourne

My family and I have been seeing the doctors from here for over 10 years (from previous practices too) and recent medical issues have made me realise how incredibly lucky I am to be linked with this practice. They always go above and beyond any other doctors I’ve had and all the administrative staff are always so helpful too. I don’t live anywhere near the practice anymore but would travel as far as I need to see them! Thank you everyone for all your help you all know who you are.

Dr Elaine is one of the best doctors I’ve spoke to in years, she is kind and understanding. Very caring and comfortable, I’m excited to progress through this time with her and her team.

I had a great experience during my first visit to this clinic. In particular, Dr Tania Nishimura provided exceptional service. Her caring, empathetic and patient approach made me feel comfortable and well-supported. Additionally, she demonstrated a great depth of medical knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend Doctors of South Melbourne and will be back again.

Had a few bad experiences with others doctors and visited doctors of south Melbourne today. Very happy with both the booking process over the phone that was very well handled and my consultation with Dr clugston taking time to explain out possible problems and solutions. I will be definitely be back.

Never felt compelled to give reviews normally, but these guys are one of the best medical teams around! Dr Davies was fantastic and answered all of my questions during my time there and was reassured at every step. Money well spent for this level of professionalism and quality, will definitely be dropping by in the future!

I had a fantastic experience at this gp service - I am temporarily based in Melbourne from the UK with two young children and they happily accommodated our needs for immunizations and check ups and offering advice on NHS reciprocal health care/Medicare. They (I saw Dr. Sophie and nurse Dani) are thoughtful, knowledgeable and friendly, not rushing the consultation and really taking time to understand our medical histories - honestly better than my own GP at home. Would recommend this modern and lovely practice and will continue to use them as we need during our time in Melbourne.

Very happy with the quality of staff - reception, nurse and doctors. We have brought our newborn a few times and seen different doctors (Dr Davies, Dr Clugston). Both were thorough and caring, and didn’t rush through things. Every time we left, we felt it was money well spent. Definitely made the right choice to come this practice. Keep up the excellent work!

The best GP clinic I have been to in Melbourne! I am greeted with a smile and respect when checking into reception. It is nice to go to a clinic that is modern but doesn’t feel like a factory! Every GP, I have seen at this clinic has been very thorough and professional. Huge sing out Dr Matthew Davies, Dr Sophie Carter and Dr Judith Kirkwood. As they have all been exceptional in their consultation and treatment with me. Many thanks and amazing job!

Worse experience. Very expensive consultation. Walked out of the appointment with no awnsers. Doctor refused to give me a prescription. Would not recommend!

Great doctors clinic. Really lovely nurses and dr’s.
You really do feel like they care and aren’t just trying to prescribe and shove you out the door.

I have visited several Dr's at Doctors of South Melbourne and they are all exceptional but I have to give a shout out to Dr Elaine Sung for her kindness, compassion and patient centred approach to providing medical care. My point of view and experiences are always taken seriously and validated. I am treated like I am the expert when it comes to my own body, which I appreciate. Thanks to Elaine and the whole team.

I moved to Melbourne over two years ago and have tried numerous doctors clinics, none of which compare to the care and professionalism that I receive at Doctors of South Melbourne. Dr Tania Nishimura is a truly exceptional doctor which is demonstrated through her knowledge, compassion and deep understanding of a vast range of medical conditions. Dr Nishimura is a great communicator and makes you feel comfortable and well-supported through her care. This standard of care doesn't just stop in the doctors rooms, the receptionists have always been friendly and courteous. I regularly and will continue to recommend Doctors of South Melbourne to all my family and friends.

Saw Dr Elaine to get a MHCP. She was lovely, very kind and affirming, listened carefully when I described my problems and thoroughly explained everything I needed to know.

Love the later opening hours, staff were friendly and Dr Carter was very thorough, even took the time to check some moles she'd noticed while checking for something else.

Everyone was friendly but that was about the extent of my experience.

I booked my appointment for 17: 30 but wasn't seen until around 17: 50-17: 55. This would be fine if I didn't have to leave for work at 18: 15. Admittedly I could have allowed for a bit more leeway.

I was told as it was a first appointment I'd need 30 minutes as opposed to 15 so they could ask me questions about my medical history. In reality this ended up taking around 2 minutes tops. The rest of the appointment comprised of diagnosing my problem and spending time on the phone because the doctor's kids hadn't been picked up from school. Obviously that's an important matter but if I am going to be charged $95 for essentially a 10 minute consultation (where I got told to visit a dermatologist because they didn't know the cause) I would have thought some sort of compensation would be in place?

There is also an extra charge for appointments after 17: 00 which I didn't find out about until I paid.

Friend recommended my partner & I come to this clinic. Saw a great female Dr for advice starting a family and really pleased to get practical info & not feel rushed.

Came in three times for different problems, one of which resulted in a hospital stay. Extremely professional and helpful staff who took the time to inform me of my options and make sure I was up to date on information. Very good service, excellent staff, A+ doctors
