Doctors of Ivanhoe

Doctors here are knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. I don’t mind waiting a bit, because I know that they are spending time to properly understand and examine the patient.if you call a receptionist before you come in, they will tell you if doctor is behind - so not an issue for me.

I’ve been coming to this clinic for a few years now due to convenient location. I’ve seen a few really lovely doctors here but the experience I had the other day made me feel awful.

Because I had a runny nose due to allergies I felt as I was pushed out and the Dr didn’t listen with any concern to my actual problem which was my eczema. I was told I should’ve made a phone consultation instead but they wouldn’t have been able to see the extent of my discomfort.

I understand that there are procedures put in place for the safety of the doctors but I was wearing a mask and covid tested before I went. She refused to fully examine my skin only looking from a distant, it made me feel less than human.

This is the second time I’ve seen this particular doctor and she brushed me off the same when I saw her the first time. I won’t make the same mistake a third time.

I have been going to Doctors of Ivanhoe for many years. I have my preferred doctor whom I usually see, yes there wait times can blow out but this is the case with most medical practitioners and yes there is an out of pocket cost.
I am more than happy with the service provided given that once I am in consultation with my doctor she spends what ever time I need with me and is always very thorough.

The staff are amazing and Dr Charles Ouna is outstanding. Has cared for my husband and I for nearly a decade and we were so sad when we relocated far away and couldn’t see him again. We would see him again in a heartbeat.

Received my booster shot. Timely and friendly service. The nurse was informative and professional.

If I could give this place no stars I would! Take this as a warning, don’t waste your time and come here. Some of the receptionist staff are incredibly rude and condescending with no phone manner. I was greeted by Nadia who was very rude and belittled me on the phone. Eileen also has been forward and sarcastic in the past. This is unfortunate since not just me, but my other family members have been coming here for years, however after multiple experiences like this all four of us will not be returning. They are incredibly money hungry and do not care about your well-being. You’ll also be waiting a while for your scheduled appointment, as from what it seems they have no sort of time management. I will be taking my time and money elsewhere to better practitioners with better services.

Very COVID safe - in and out with a minimum of fuss and the experience was pleasant throughout. Got my thing done with no issues and I was very happy with my experience. If I ever need a follow-up, I'll know where to go to.

First time attended. Doctor was fantastic and the reception staff were so caring and understanding.

I made an 11.15am appointment with this clinic for my 3 month old. I rang to advise we were running late. We were 8 mins late arriving at 11.23. At 12.15pm the GP emerged and called the gentleman in who had the 11.30am appointment. When I enquired at the desk about this I was informed he was seen first before my baby and I because I had been late. Petty petty policy and no explanation given to patients on a GP running over an hour late. I walked out. I went to Burgundy Street Family Medical where we were both treated respectfully.

I have been a patient for more than 20 years. Many of the doctors are good practitioners. However, their processes fall short - when you are forced to make a Telehealth appointment and you choose a time, the Dr can call you at any time - you wait hours after the scheduled time, and you cannot go elsewhere as they take your credit card details to lock you in! You are left to the end of the day, and still pay full price for this lower level of service. I will no longer be attending this practice in future! There are so many better practices around that provide a better standard of service.

The majority of Doctors here give exceptional clinical care (be selective about who you choose to see though as there are a couple of clinicians that are at best incompetent) – if this review was based solely on the ongoing hard work of the clinical staff it would be a 4 star rating! The facility is immaculate and the COVID Safe Plan implemented is second to none - that's the upside. There are however a number of practice procedures and policies that are extremely obstructive and undermine the great patient care offered by the treating staff. In an ideal world this practice would focus less on protectionism and fear of litigation and get back to being the user friendly, patient centred GP practice it once was.

Essentially you are paying to be referred to others because the 'Doctor' doesn't know basic medical procedure and lacks simple observation skills. I recognize that some problems do not lend themselves to a GP and require a specialist but a GP should know how to apply a bandage and should at least recommend some short term solutions. Instead, he just referred me away and really did nothing himself. Pretty poor.

Doctors of Ivanhoe is a fantastic clinic! Staff are super friendly and the doctors are very professional. Highly recommended!

I will not be attending this clinic again.
I have made 3 appointments over the last 2 years and the doctor
is either running over an hour late or I get a call to come in earlier than my booked appointment time. Patients book times that suits them due to
family or work commitments. Will look for another GP clinic and I won't be going back.

Have been here a few times now as it is convienient and the wait time is reasonable. This one female Dr was always quite abrupt, but today she was extremely rude in my appointment, rushing through and unempathetic in so many ways. Compared my case to another patient's, made no eye contact, made mistakes on my certificate of capacity which I asked her to correct, to which she became irritated, then to top it off, completely ignored me when I said goodbye and thankyou (kept staring at the screen).
I called the manager to give feedback, was met with platitudes and condecending tone of voice, justifying that "this is just the Drs style". I am a mental health nurse, needing support to take time off after being physically assaulted. Met with such unprofessional and uncaring medical staff at a Drs clinic in Ivanhoe, of all places I would really expect more.
There is one silver lining, as the receptionist was very quick to offer genuine support when I came out of my appointment upset and informed her of this. Medical staff there should take some notes from her regarding effective therapeutic engagment with their patients.
Will not be going back to support your practice, as Im sure your practice will not change.

Very unhelpful, called them with symptoms of heart problem and their nurse told me it might be urgent, only to keep me waiting over 40 minutes. The level of care seems like a big joke!

My friend is an asylum seeker, I made her an appointment and was told she will be looked after and there is no need to pay, but when we turned up for the appointment, they said can't help and I had to leave with my friend without getting any GP

I have been attending Doctors of Ivanhoe for over 10years. Ive found the services and medical treatments exceptionally professional on nearly all occasions. I see the same Doctor and appreciate the care and time Dr Tri provides myself & my family. I have only ever once had an unpleasant experienced with Dr Bishara who charged me for a consult where the practice hadn’t received my results. She charged me for her time to inform me “your results haven’t arrived & rebook. ” I simply tell reception not to book me in with her and I ensure I see my regular Doctor.
They do have wonderful Doctors, I’ve also consulted with Dr Elizabeth Wilson, A/Professor Justin Tse and Dr Tacye Todd. Overall it’s a great Medical practice. Thank you to the team at Doctors of Ivanhoe.

I find it odd that you have to make yet another appointment to get blood test results as a pose to another clinic I attend where you can call in the morning to speak to the pathology nurse for your results.not sure if consumers are really getting good value for money.

I can't praise dr Puri enough, always seen well within 15 minutes of appointment. He is extremely thorough and exactly what one would expect for a doctor. Most other doctors seem to run 30 minutes waiting time or more. Last visit was 50 minutes with no communication from staff (who are generally well mannered) and we ended up leaving, no apologies for the 50 minute wait, just 'we will mark it'. I understand you're not a bulk billing practice but if I'm expected to pay money, especially as a single mother, I at least expect the curtesy to be told this doctor won't see me within an hour of my appointment. Dr puri is the only reason I still bother with drs of Ivanhoe, he is one of the only credits to your practice.
