DOC Delicatessen reviews
31The fresh pasta is a game-changer. They make everything from scratch and it tastes like it.
Had a focaccia special this morning, the bread was so fresh! Loved seeing a vegetarian option.
The panini here are expensive but absolutely worth it. I have tried various fillings and always agonise about which one to get. Today I had a truly tremendous hot parmigiana panino which cost $19 but was the best sandwich I’ve had in months.
They are all sold to take away, but if you prefer to sit down you can eat at the black tables on Lygon St, and you can order a takeaway coffee from the restaurant next door.
Panini are sold until they sell out of rolls; I got the last one today at 3pm-ish
Beautiful selection of authentic Italian small goods.
It’s not cheap but the quality is first class.
Service is excellent with the staff happy to make suggestions. We bought all we needed for homemade pizza including freshly made Napoli Sauce Mozzarella, hot Salami and a bottle of Chianti. Perfect.
Recommended.
Beautiful Deli including the restaurant next door. Mostly Italian (imported) products.
This afternoon I had the Burrata for lunch, which was delicious! They prepared it at the Deli.
Been coming here for years. Everything is great quality and many products that are found here you will struggle to find elsewhere.
The only thing I can say is maybe don't put such strong tasting cheese in the mortadella pannini, it completely overpowers the flavor of the meat.
Other then that everything was perfect
The ambience of the restaurant was great the food was presented well and was okay. But was on the pricey side. It is what it is.
Undoutadly one of the best cafes in Australia. Coffee pizza, panino, biscuits name anything! Class apart
Great selection of freshly made food and condiments. It is rather pricey but you get what you pay for. Friendly service.
Charged 20% extra on a public holiday (menu only says 10%) then asked for a tip based on the two times they interacted with us lol. Non bene.
Every time I eat a panini from the deli I thank the Italian people for their great contribution to my daily joy and for bringing their food to Australia. Absolutely up there with the best panini I’ve ever had. Omg the turkey one, the eggplant one. I am dead with how good they are.
DOC is definitely on the pricier side for your standard roll. However, oh me on my, it’s worth it. Absolutely delicious.
$57 for one pizza and a glass of Prosecco. Gaslit by the waiter when I had bill shock. Been coming for a long time. Will never come back.
1 star and I think I'm being generous here. DOC is the place for an authentic Italian experience - great food, (extremely) rude staff. No thanks, not for me.
It's really a hit or miss with this deli.
I arrived home and opened up a questionable looking slice of cheese. Definitely tasted off. Shouldn't have even tried to eat as much as I did. By day 2 it turned into various shades of blue.
Dont waste your time in this store. Their incompetence is only surpassed by their incredibly rude attitude. Everything is a drama and not worth your time. Mediterranean Wholesalers is half the price and better service.
OMG pappardelle with porcini mushrooms.
Simply the best.
Real Italian food and great atmosphere, you have to try it and you will love it!
TOP
Indeed I understand why it was always packed with people!
Staff are helpful and friendly.
Food are just beautiful!
Cooked to perfection in taste and texture
Authentic flavours, amazing ambience, friendly staff! Would definitely go back, and especially for the coffee!
Bad service and uncomfortable environment. My partner and I have been somewhat regular customers here all year long, and we have witnessed and experienced too many unpleasant occurrences to write in this review. The staff are constantly yelling at each other and arguing. They are very dismissive and are judgmental elitists who do not care about their customers and seem very bothered when asked for recommendations. During my last visit, a woman who was very happy to be there was told by the manager, 'Signora. Stop. ' when he determined she was asking too many questions about the arancini. He left flustered and stressed out and ordered another staff member to take over. A simple question can cause one of them to explode in a rage of fury and shout something in Italian before storming off. We have continued to put ourselves through hell for the amazing array of Italian goods, however, this latest occurrence has finally pushed us to take our business elsewhere.
