Look forward to an introductory class with David for my twelve year old guitar fanatic. Was extremely helpful when talking broad based question such as storage, management, repair and usage. Plucking gem.

Fixed up my flying V for $40, paid for just a wire fix and he redid the whole guitar making it brand new. Would recommend

The best place to immerse yourself in guitars - building, viewing, sharing and always extremely well guided by David.

David is so rude and unprofessional on what he works. He pretend friendly and nice at beginning but after you pay and give your guitar to him the nightmare just begin. He totally ruined the guitar. The approach was so negative and arrogant that it felt he don't value his customers. You treat your guitar as lover but in his eyes your guitar just like trash just like piece of wood. I hope I didn’t bring my guitar to his shop, but regret is useless. Now my heart totally broken.

Hi My name is Phil as a hobbie i have cleaned old gibson style guitars x 20 approx. and set them including neck adjust.. just started on cheap strat copies but the problem is all these cheap or good guitars the wiring pot ,caps toggles switch pickups are always at a Low standard.. And im sick of giving to some techs who take forever to complete the job..So i am wondering if you have a course or show me how to solder components and split 1mm thick wire in 2 etc, Pots, caps, jacks Pickup Replacements Electric Guitar maybe basic wah Pedal just the soldering skill..Thanks Phil im near Oakleigh area.

This luthier's workshop is an amazing place. For my part I have been attending once a week since Nov 2020 learning how to build a guitar from scratch (i.e. Starting with just blocks of wood). It's really hard to know where to start with this review as there is so much to tell you about - David is a great teacher with an enormous amount of experience in the art of guitar design, building and repair. He assumes zero prior knowledge from his students and has walked me through every step of the guitar manufacturing process (everything from helping me select timbers, the design and the hardware and how to use the various tools of the luthier trade). I'm nearing the end of my first build and it has been an an experience I'll never forget. At any one time there will be about 4 or 5 other people (like myself) who are there working on their own projects which are in various stages of build. The vibe is also very positive, very welcoming and super supportive. In addition to David, those with more experience are always very helpful with people with less experience. Some people have already built several guitars and for some I get the feeling that the luthier shop is like a second home! Folks will also take a break and pickup one of David's guitars and play away in the background. There is also a fellow there who will teach you how to wind, pot etc.your own pickups.
Aside from the teaching aspects David also builds bespoke guitars and basses for clients, which are incredibly cool one of a kind masterpieces. Lastly I should also say that he also does repair work - he helped me fix a broken neck/headstock for a Les Paul and you would never know it had been broken.
