Discovery Parks - Warrnambool reviews
74Great place to stay in Warrnambool. We stayed just for a night and location was very convenient. Deluxe cabin was clean and comfortable. Bathroom bit small but overall good.
Was very pleased with this park. Nice and quiet after 10pm, and good central location. Bathrooms and camp kitchen were always clean. Only problem was too many unnecessary outside lights that shone into our tent when trying to sleep. We also did not realise that the kitchen lights go off at 9pm which caught quite a few people off guard who were in the middle of cooking. We unfortunately were there when the pool was closed which was disappointing. We were lucky with our location being in the middle of the park with grass and trees around us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We changed our booking to come forward by 1 day and this was done with ease. All the facilities were clean and tidy and modern and the park has lots of grass and clean sites. Park is a great location, close to parks and the beach whilst also being a short drive to the hustle and bustle of Warrnambool. Will definitely stay here again.
Excellent location. Close to supermarket. Very clean and good service. Coffee truck right at the entrance was a great plus!
Not bad considering the pros and cons.
What I Liked
Location - is excellent because all amenities are nearby e.g. Cafe, restaurants, mini golf, Petrobe park, go karting, arcade games, beach, Maritime museum by walk.and a few minutes drive to central shopping centre and Coles/Woollies.
Room - was good, comfy and room temperature at the time of arrival, well ventilated.
Clean - was neat and tidy, inside and outside.
What I Disliked
Service - room service was not done and neither asked about during our entire 3-days stay.
Bathroom - only one tube of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion was provided to a 3-person family.
WiFi - it didn't work and we were told that a lot of people might be on it, quite a lame excuse instead of getting better internet provider, better powerful equipment and higher bandwidth for all guests.
Movie room - wasn't operational as it wasn't serviced until we complained about it and it was opened the very next day.
Noise levels - a little high due to AFL grand final and then a caravan just parked right outside our room the next day.
We had such a great stay. The location was convenient.within walking distance to the beach, mini golf, and the fabulous Pertobe Park adventure playground. Our kids received a free welcome pack, and the managers kindly donate all proceeds from go-cart hire to flood victims. Our ensuite site was clean and modern with plenty of space for our large camper. We loved the herb garden and were able to use some herbs in our camp cooking. Thank you for a great stay.
Very expensive over the kings birthday long weekend, motels are pretty standard, quiet small, electric hotplate was handy plus afew ourdoor bbq's
A few minor defects in the cabin but overall great. We asked the price to stay another night and were given the full RRP of $249 for a dirty cabin in the off-season. Does not make sense so we won't be staying there again.
Rude is an understatement from the lady at reception to the owner doing as little maintenance as possible. 5 star prices for 2 star facilities. I pity anyone that has a larger van as there is no room. The only good thing is the exit out of the place.
To be a caravan park manager you to be a certain type of person with a warm and welcoming personality and the ability to stay cool when things get busy, you won’t get that here.
Understocked kitchen, not very clean (not dirty just not clean), overpriced, and WiFi don't work. (cabins)
Very nice area, and a top family friendly spot to stay, has caravan parking, camping, motel rooms including nice self contained cabins.
We stayed for 2 nights with 3 young kids at a regular room and it was very nice. The room is big, especially the bathroom, and the kitchen has all you need to make meals yourself. The beds are very comftorbale! The place itself has a nice pool with a spa (cool when it's called outside), a small playground and a video games room for kids (small and not so atraactive). The location is the best part, close to a very good caffe and one of the great parks wev'e been to - small pool, many plygrounds and great views! There is a minigolf next door aswell.
Stayed for a couple days. Stayed in cabin, the cabin was clean and tidy. Great place to stay with young kids. Great atmosphere and amenities. Wish the pool was bigger not much room for people. Don't book a cabin to the community toilet, too much noise. I would highly recommend this place for a stay. It is located 10 minute walk to the beach and cafe's. Check out the carnival if you stay in January, lots of fun for the kids.
.
Best location, (if you have kids it is next to the best playgrounds in Vic including a small water park coming soon)
Park is clean and quiet and we'll priced.
Lots of different sizes room and cabins too
Affordable and fully self contained units that have one car space available to you. Great for those who travel for work. Laundry, kitchen, bathroom and gaming facilities available and always kept clean and tidy. Park is always clean and the caravan sites are easily accessible as well as dog friendly.
We had a wonderful experience there, they were so friendly and helpful, and it was wonderful to have a safe place for my dog as well, it was clean and we cared for
We had a powered site with an enuite. The park was very well maintained, ensuite was modern and lovely and clean. Great location for the adventure playground, beach and Flagstaff Hill.
Disappointed with our selection of parks. To be fair it was not the parks fault that powered sites were muddy from the rain and they did allow us to move to one less muddy. Lots and lots of cabins. It looks like this is the parks future. Sites are smallish making it difficult to reverse in or drive through. Slabs also smallish. Amenities clean and staff friendly.
Fantastic staff upgraded us to a motel/cabin room from a ensuite site for an extra $40 was great to be able to get out of the rain and have normal cooking facilities for a day as had been travelling for 2 weeks in a campervan and a nice hot shower definitely recommend this park.
