Look, it's not the worst fish and chips and not the best but you won't be disappointed, the chips were bloody good. Fish could be a bit bigger and potatoe cakes less soggy but will be back many times again. Doesn't deserve the bad reviews.

Habibi can’t make a burger to save himself. Wife or whatever she is is clueless. Wait time and quality bad. Mosquitoes flying around everywhere in store.

I really hate leaving bad reviews but my experience here left me quite sad.
I ordered some food online, and sadly they forgot the chips. (2 orders). I called them and they not only said they couldn’t give them to me, they literally also said they can’t do a refund and don’t know how to do a refund. What? I’m just at a loss on that money now. Even now I’ve still not gotten the food or my money back. That’s basically theft. Ok, cool, I can take the loss, but on top of that it looks like they accidentally knocked the top off the salt shaker and dumped the whole container of salt onto my fried barramundi. I’m not even joking when I say it was the saltiest thing I’ve ever had, and I could not even force myself to eat it. And trust me, I’m not sensitive to salt, I eat insanely salty food all of the time. I love salt. The amount of salt seemed far beyond reason, and likely borderline dangerous. Somebody must’ve been having a laugh. So not only was my experience bad because that was supposed to be dinner for me and my kid, it’s bad because I actually just paid for two sides I never got, and had inedible food.
The lady on the phone did sound moderately sorry, but made no reasonable attempt to amend the situation.

This place was outstanding in customer service. I called my order through whilst in the carpark unable to go into the store with my baby. When I ordered I asked for the total price so my eldest daughter could go in with the correct cash to pay. When I was told it was going to be over $20 I deleted some items from my order to make it just over $10. I'm a single mum that just couldn't afford more than that on dinner. My daughter went in 5 mins later and came out with our order and the correct change. When we got home it was the biggest surprise. Everything we originally ordered was inside. I cannot thank this business enough. We all ate the beautiful fish and chips and it feed the whole family without going over our budget. Thankyou sincerely for helping out our family in these times when our finances are so tight. Couldn't speak more highly of this small business. You made mine and my daughter's take away for the week experience wonderful.

2.5 stars out of three for the food. Their deceptive pricing (advertising a 2L drink then saying you can only have a 1.25L) is likely illegal and means I would have made a different decision, as it's not value for money. I won't bother coming back, we have other options

This used to be my favourite F+C shop and I would always let people know how great it was. Since the new ownership (2022), the quality, quantity and sizes of fish consistently has gone down and the price has gone up quite a bit. I've given it three attempts since the new ownership and sadly, I will be looking for another F+C shop. I may check back in 6 months to see if anything has changed and hopefully, I can bump up my stars and review.

Gone downhill massively. Can't even cook steamed dim sims, the most basic of fish n chip shop fare.

Sunday night dinner 6pm...
Phone ordered a 'dinner for 2'. Told it was $25 including grilled fish in batter. Pick up 10 minutes later and charged $34.40, extra was because of the grilled fish in batter. Open the packaging once home (2 minute drive), find the grilled fish cold, potato cakes, dim sims, chips and battered fish over cooked, verging on burnt on the outside and luke warm on the inside. I now understand why he shop was so quiet when I went to pick up. Absolutley horrible! Do not bother!

It doesn't even deserve one star. Soggy, oily, over cooked, small size. The flake was dry. I called and ordered over the phone, 10-15 minute wait. Perfect. By the time I left it was over 30 minutes. I heard them tell the guy waiting in front of me that they lost part of his order. What an absolute joke. I will never ever return.

My wife rang up fish box at 7: 25 tonight. She was told by the female employee there. That they were closed. We got no problem with that. But when asked what time they close. My wife was hung up on (not good customer service). Now we have been going there for the past few years. Mostly its good service and good food. But when i was told by my wife. What had happened i was appalled By this. As we have been loyal customers of fish box for a few yrs now. But maybe not anymore. I just hopr this is a once of sort of thing. By the female employee.

Great food and service. I had lot burger in the pack and it was really good. Potato cake was very fresh and crispy. Highly recommended.

I will never again go here. The food absolutely inedible, full of oil and not drained at all. I’m hangry Souvlaki bread was like dough and a sloppy mess. A waste of money. Boooo

Had a chicken kebab, that's on offer from the new owners. Not too bad, bread was a little doughy maybe need better turkish bread or toast it a bit. Garlic sauce needs a bit more flavour kick and red onions instead of what was used with a few tweaks these could be really great local kebabs.

Most of the time really good. We get fish, chips and potato cakes from here regularly and the batter is crispy and yummy. Very occasionally the chips are soggy and cold or the fish is dry. But that's pretty unusual for them.
Service is fine, they are efficient but busy. Parking is easy, there's always space in that carpark.

Awful service. Called, was put on hold. Waited about 5mins and was hung up on. Took about 10 mins of trying to get through.

Then when I collected my order, got home to realise there was no chips. Called up and they basically argued with me that I hadn't ordered them. I absolutely definitely had and others in the room who could hear confirmed this.

Drove to pick up chips. They weren't ready. Waited and got them. Paid, of course. I thought as an apology they might have offered for free but no.

Got back home to then discover we were also a potato cake short.

Then ate the by now cold fish and chips to discover the fish was dry and the chips were half raw.

Awful. Will never return.

I just got some fish and chips after some time away. When I realised it was new owners I was a bit unsure as to what I would get however I was pleased surprised. This joint has definitely stepped up from the previous owners and our meal was perfect and the fish was good (the main reason we stayed away for a while as the fish was poor with the previous owner).

Do yourself a favour and give them a go… now I don’t have to drive to montmorency for fish and chips anymore!

Due to what I assume is a new owner or new crew, the quality of both fish and chips have dropped. We have been twice since the change and got worse each time. This is especially saddening since the previous crew/owner was so good. Fish and chips in the local area will never be the same. Both me and my family are heartbroken at the loss of a loved tradition. If the owners wish to live up to the previous quality they need to work a lot harder.

Have never had a bad experience here. Great food and always a bonus Potato cake or 2. Terrific!

So far the best fish and chips in the area, only been once so far on a Sunday, so I could be wrong, but first impressions last!
