Dhaba at the Mill reviews
45The best Indian food I've had in in regional Vic - Best in Melbourne is Dhaba's sister Horn Please. Delicious food, kind staff, and charming aesthetic.
Amazing food and service at Dhaba. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. We loved the quirky decor and ambience of the restaurant. Lovely staff. Would highly recommend.
We are from Sunbury and have eaten at Dhaba several times. Its well worth the travel to dine in this beautiful mill and taste the delicious food especially the Tso Cauliflower, Samosa, Butter Chicken, Village Lamb and Eggplant dish.
Authentic and delicious! Can’t go past the classic Butter Chicken and Basmati rice which never fails to delight my taste buds! Open during lockdowns with easy online ordering. A real Kyneton gem
I can’t completely explain how delicious the food was when we visited. Right down to the rice!
100% recommended the coconut pumpkin curry
Accidental happen to go Dhaba at the Mill on our way back from Bendigo. Turned out to be the best decision. The ambience… the vibe.the food.the people … the service. Everything was great. I love that there is a limited set menu. And we had Dal Makhani and loved it. Caution before ordering the garlic parantha …. It is GARLICY
Rich and delicious, authentic Indian with a touch of something a bit more special. I went to Dhaba by chance about 8 years ago as was very impressed. I can safely say that they are still cranking at full steam. The fit-out and ambience is warm and cosy within the exposed beams of the old flour mill. We gouged ourselves on an array of starters and mains, all of which were spot on! The samosa is a must-try. The lamb curry is melt-in-your-mouth tender and so rich and luscious. It was nicely balanced by the creamy coconut fish curry that was mild in contrast. Service was excellent also.
Nice food, ridiculously long wait for very simple meals, due to UberEats being given priority. Happy to go out and support our local restaurants and cafes, and recognise what tough times it is for hospitality in general. However, sitting for well over an hour after ordering waiting for a basic dahl, rice and a vegetable curry while takeaway orders go out by the truckload is in my view disrespectful to customers who have come to the restaurant. The food is nice, the decor interesting, the waiting staff professional.
Always a terrific meal and love the service and atmosphere. Great work Raj and team. We will be back!
We had the most beautiful night with friends: food magnificent as usual; great value; unobtrusive service; and great setting. Thank you Dhaba at the Mill!
Nice place to enjoy some Indian food. We are going almost once a month, it's good. If you are going through Kyneton, I think it's a good place to stop:)
We had an excellent meal at Dhaba at the Mill, Kyneton on Sunday night. The food is very good and the service, the same. We were looked after well and throughly enjoyed the experience. The Coconut Fish Curry was the highlight and also recommend the Punjabi Spinach Fritter dish. A simple menu and relaxing Sunday night.
One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Great wine list too with top notch regional selections without pretension. The food is beautiful. The service prompt. Recommend the green mango rolls and Colonel Tso’s cauliflower entrees (though all the entrees are innovative and delish) and no main will disappoint but, the Village Lamb curry is crazy good. Proper basmati and good roti.
The butter chicken, try it, you must. Also, a really interesting interior. Huge exposed wooden beams from an age ago.
We have eaten here often and the food is always well cooked and full of flavour, if lacking that heat often associated with Indian food. The spicy pickle on the side does the trick though. Service is always easy and friendly in a beautifully converted old mill.
We shared a plate of the Balls of Happiness to start - simply outstanding! I than had the pumpkin and coconut curry which was also fantastic.
I am vegetarian and love Indian cuisine as the vegetarian options tend to be extensive as well as interesting. Dhaba at the Mill certainly didn't disappoint!
Authentic chilled out Indian restaurant with Bollywood movies playing on the wall with food to fill your belly and warm your heart. A local treasure not to be missed.
Cold beers and the best butter chicken in the universe! (Tested against a Dhaba in Pune, Maharashtra, India!)
Creamy, juicy, melt in the mouth. Tasty bread helps soak up the last drops, none wasted. Fantastic light, aromatic coconut fish curry balanced flavours and tastes of the Butter chicken. Never left there hungry.
Only wish they served the butter chicken sauce in pint glasses!
There were 7 of us dining at Dhaba.we all agreed that the food and service was excellent, we would highly recommend dining at this Indian restaurant. Loved the old movies playing on the back wall.
Had a meal there last week and it was beautiful. Easy to book a table online. Terrific menu - short but well done. Whatever you do make sure you order the cauliflower, it was amazing. Great service too, very friendly and helpful staff. One of the few places smart enough to stay open in Kyneton too!
Love eating at Dhaba, the food is always delicious and great surrounding in the old flour mill.
