Devola's of Brighton

I love this place and if was super rich I would shop here often but I'm not, so I don't. It is such a cute grocers though with fresh produce, gorgeous flowers, gourmet food items, ready meals, salads and more. I have brought a vanilla slice from Red Hill, daffodils on Daffodil Day, chili oil, tabouleh, all sorts of things. Really cute, very appealing but for me, an occasional shop (unfortunately).

Very nice people there, and in general it's a lovely community oriented store! Great produce as well, definitely recommend.

A small grocery store but excellent customer service. The owners always greet you with a smile. As some reviews mentioned, the flowers on the pathway look pretty and give a Brighton feel.

Staff can be a tad moody considering their produce should put them in a good mood guys! It wouldn't hurt to be nicer to the passer bys that shop there.

Always great produce and friendly staff. The footpath with the flowers around it make it such a beautiful walk, makes my day every day when I pass by. The cafe next door is kind of pricey (extra $0.50 for the chocolate in your mocha?), but it’s a great addition to the street, keeping a lively vibe. Thanks Devola’s

Ordered flowers from this shop, they made real unprofessional flower bunch-cheap/old roses, old greenery, unsuitable flower arrangements, unstable flower container. Paid top money. Very unhappy.

Have been grateful to top up here over the past couple of decades. A little ‘cozy’ but some useful products and pretty flowers. Recently I’ve not enjoyed the loud music, with tables and chairs added to the flowers etc for sale outside adding a claustrophobic aspect to walking along this part of Hampton St. I’ve learned to wait while others walk through the narrow section of the remaining footpath but on my most recent visit things were worse- only one paver’s width to pass the dog, the pram, the customers at the window, walking to the public bench or consuming their purchases without masks during lockdown… it leaves me wondering if this small strip of shops needed another food outlet when it was- to me- already graced with? 8. Most likely I’ll cut back on my visits to this group of shops. So 4 stars for the original shop, 2 stars now. Average 3.

Reply to the owner’s reply. Let me clarify. I was commenting on the original Devola’s shop and the new coffee area which I believe is part of the same business. Hence my reference to? 8 other places providing food already. You won’t be conveniencing just me- you’d be improving the experience of a good number of shoppers. As to the coffee offer - my concern, at its core, is more about being left to enjoy all the local shops there while facing fewer near collisions and tripping hazards. I recently had to walk on the road to get back to my car. I’ll watch with interest to see how you address my safety concerns.

Ok.my first time! Impossible to move around surrounded by people packing shelves.it was actually unbearable. We are in lockdown so even worse. Very expensive also.

Have shopped at Devola's for 20+yrs. Always the freshest, tastiest fruit & veges. Great staff too!

Can't thank Devola's of Brighton enough for keeping me on track with my diet plans this year! They offer a huge range of organic fruit and organic vegetables, their deli food is delicious too! Definitely recommend a trip to Devolas in Brighton if you're looking for a fantastic florist too. They now also stock hampers & boxes!

Top quality produce and fantastic range of grocery items and take home food. Lovely owners as well. Been going here for years.and always great.
