Desi Swag reviews
37Idiotic staff. Reached at 8: 50. The restaurant's opening hours are listed as 4 to 10 pm. I called five times, but they didn't answer. Once we arrived, they displayed a closed sign. If you're not open, why not update the time on Google? We are en route, having planned our journey from South Australia to Melbourne.
Food was good authentic Indian. The team were under pressure and manage to stay positive and our food was delicious.
We will try eating in another time.
Very poor service, went there looking at all the reviews and expected better. Appalling service is what i would say. Never going back there.
Was expecting an unreal dinner from the previous reviews, however was very disappointed. Entreè chicken was cold to start off with and the mint sauce reminded me of water that had been left in the fridge next to actual mint sauce.
Ordered coconut chicken and butter chicken which took quite a long time to arrive at the table. Coconut chicken was horrible. Not a hint of coconut and had the worst after-taste. Butter chicken was fine but definitely not the best I've had. The person serving us had his son running around the restaurant, jumping aggressively on the chairs next to us. He then had to chase him under the table and drag him out to get him to stop. The kid then proceeded to watch what sounded like Kim Possible on maximum volume the whole time we were eating.
The guy serving was polite and his service was fine otherwise, but won't be returning.
Awesome food and great service.
I'd highly recommend their palak-paneer (while everything we ordered was just superb).
Humble & friendly service.
We'd certainly go back again.
Deplorable service. Ordered takeaway at 6: 15. Paid. THEN told it'll be a 45 min wait! "But hey we'll try get it out sooner" he says.
I mentioned that we weren't really able to wait that long (hungry child). Restaurant is half full. Other friends eat in and order AFTER 6: 30. They get ALL their food before us at 7: 15 and I mentioned my concern. They had not even started on our order.
I wait until 7: 30 for the head of house to come back out front to talk with me so I can ask for my money back and he says, "but here's your food". What a joke. 1.5hrs for take away!
Being local to the area I find this service very disappointing as there's no way I'll be going back or recommending this restaurant.
Stopped here on our way back from Halls gap and had the most delicious food. Food was fresh, well cooked, mild gravy was actually mild, lovely staff and will keep coming back!
Great variety of food, great service.
All the dishes we had had terrific flavour. Will definitely recommend it.
Website says open.
Thurs.lve booked.
Got to the shop closed.dirty dishes all over tables.
Not happy.
Need to update website
Had butter chicken, rogan josh beef and butter chicken with lemon.
All dishes we're very nice, and i would recommended this restaurant.
We were sat at a dirty table, putting the clean cutlery and cups on top of crumbs and food scraps. We asked them to clean the table and they said that they didn’t have any more table covers. After which they just scraped all the rubbish onto the floor.
Over half of the menu was not available due to “supply shortages”. Food took over an hour to be cooked. Cups were given but the water never arrived. Food was decent but not anything better that can be cooked from supermarket sauces.
Very beautiful and clean restaurant. We stopped there for dinner on the way home to Melbourne from the Grampians. Lived in Melbourne for 5 years but couldn’t find good Indian restaurant. This one is the best I’ve ever been to in Victoria. Very friendly waiter.l and food was amazing. If anyone driving through must try this gem.
The swaggiest Indian restaurant going around! Finally tried Desi Swag after visiting Ararat a few times and it did not disappoint! Lovely service, great butter chicken, delicious garlic naan and great samosas, perfect Saturday takeaway
First time customer. Lovely lady who served me, warm and friendly. Food was delicious. Ordered a lamb Roganjosh tack away. Will be back next time I'll stop to eat dinner. ️
After a long day working, boss took us here for dinner.
We all really enjoyed our dinner.
While working in Ararat we like to support local businesses.
Thanks for a great feed

We entered Desi Swag chance. We had not expected such big place and good ambience. Tasty food and good service. Mango lassi was amazing. I was happy to get the good vegetarian food.
Loved the meal at your restaurant Desi swag! The samosa was amazing! I highly recommend everyone, must visit here. The service was unbelievably good.
Your dine in services are so good. Had a great time with my family and children were so relaxed. The chicken curry has my heart, good going Sania and Gurvir, good luck
Awesome food with generous portions. The tandoori platter entree was delicious! Reasonably priced and open Australia Day which was a plus!
